Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
Considering your JEE Mains rank of 1.16 lakh and percentile of 92.2, let's evaluate the options:
Option 1: IPE in NIT Jalandhar
- Branch: Instrumentation and Process Engineering (IPE) might not be as popular as CSE or ECE, but it's a niche field with good job prospects.
- College: NIT Jalandhar is a reputable institution with a good rating (4.1/5).
Option 2: CSE in UIET Hoshiarpur
- Branch: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a highly sought-after field with excellent job opportunities.
- College: UIET Hoshiarpur is affiliated with Punjab University, and its CSE program has a rating of 3.7/5.
Option 3: ECE in CCET Chandigarh
- Branch: Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a core branch with good job prospects.
- College: CCET Chandigarh is located in a prime location, offering access to various opportunities, and has a better faculty compared to UIET Hoshiarpur. ECE at CCET is considered better than most courses.
Based on the information, here's a suggestion:
- If you're interested in CSE, UIET Hoshiarpur might be a good option, but consider the college's reputation and placement record.
- If you're inclined towards ECE, CCET Chandigarh seems like a better choice due to its location, faculty, and placement opportunities.
- IPE in NIT Jalandhar is also a viable option if you're interested in the instrumentation and process engineering field.
Ultimately, prioritize your interests and career goals when making a decision. Consider factors like college culture, location, and alumni network in addition to branch and college reputation.
Yes, you can participate in the special and spot round counselling for JAC Chandigarh. Since you have already been allotted ECE in CCET, you can still opt for higher preference courses like CSE in the special round if seats are available.
Make sure to follow the instructions provided by the counselling authority and keep an eye on the official website for updates regarding the special and spot rounds. Be prepared to fill in your preferences again and ensure all necessary documents are ready for submission.

Hello,
The Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology has a lot of quotas for the students to avail, but unfortunately, it doesn't have any reservation specifically for female candidates.
However, there is a quota called "One girl child out of the only 2 girl children (SG)", which is applicable in:
1. University Institute for Engineering and Technology (UIET)
2. Dr Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology.
3. P.U. Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre
Hope this information benefits you!
Hello aspirant
Hope you are doing great there . I regret to say this but with this percentile chances of your admission in CCET or UIET Chandigarh is quite less and that too when you are looking for CSE only . According to the percentile score mentioned by you above , your predicted crl rank lies somewhere around 102300 - 115000 .

Hey Aspirant,
According to me you should go for IT in University institute of engineering and technology (UIET) as the Placements there are far better then ECE at CCET. At UIET Average Package of 6.3LPA is offered and the highest package of 40LPA was offered , which is alot more than what is offer at CCET . Also you should go for IT only because there you will get alot more job offers as Compared to ECE.
I hope this helps!
Hi
I am assuming you from general category.
With 66 percentile
Your crl rank will be around 347820 - 391000 as per our rank predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
With this rank, your chances of getting a seat in NIT, IIITs is very low. Even to get into lower NITs under other state you should have got at least around 45000 - 50,000 rank i. e 95.5 - 96 percentile.

Hello
Based on student reviews as well as placement records JIIT would be better in comparison to CCET.Average package offered in
CCET-3.75lakhs
JIIT-4lakhs
In JIIT about 1312 companies visited in the placement drive and recruited the students. The major recruiters are Roposo, Samsung, Nestle India Ltd etc.
CCET has good increase in placement percentage in Electronics and Communication Engineering as compared to previous years. As you are opting for ECE CCET is a good option.

Hello Aspirant,
College-wise between CCET and PEC , PEC seems to be better choice in terms of placement, learning experience and reputation , so it is definitely a better choice over CCET. But more than the college , your interest and skills matter while choosing a course. So you need to see what your career goals are and choose accordingly . Both ECE and metallurgy are good for both boys and girls.Since metallurgy is a mechanical engineering field the crowd will be male dominant , so you may have to work extra hard to find your way but you may choose the course if you have a clear plan about the future and how you will work towards your goal.
So if you think you want metallurgy then first , research well about the course and study about its job opportunities and think whether it will suit your conveniences .ECE on the other hand is very common branch and mostly if you do not get a core field job , you will end up in IT sector , so see whether metallurgy has this kind of a backup option in case you are unable to find core field jobs. But , again college wise , I would suggest PEC is better so in case you do not want metallurgy and if you get any other branch then go for it.

Hello
dhawananil
, From some research on internet about all three colleges I found that some order which is best in all terms like placement, fees, infrastructure and all are:
Hope you understand and it will be helpful for you :)
The college has basic infrastructure, like the basic lathe machines and stuff, not cutting edge technology just enough to get things going, the machines are poor and outdated, no standards of industries are met
College has good overall infrastructure. Classrooms are fully furnished and have projectors installed. Labs are well maintained, fully AC, and have high-end computers and GPUs available. Free WiFi for students is available all across the campus.
Yes the college has ample facilities that too all in good condition. It also has two canteens. There are various clubs to entertain us so that besides academics we can take part in extra curricular activities.
