CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College, is situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and was set up in 1961. This affiliated college recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has been building future aspiring Engineers for more than half a century. The CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College is set on a 9.6 acre land; it offers diploma courses in the following disciplines to all the 865 registered students. With 46 dedicated teaching faculty members in the college, it boasts of an ideal student-teacher ratio guaranteeing special focus on education.

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College has a number of modern facilities that are established with the purpose of improving the learning environment for its students. The library which is well stocked has one thousand seven hundred seventy books in its stock inventory including seven hundred of text books, reference collection of magazines, journals, newspapers and CD-ROMs. Consequently, students can search, browse and access e-journals that the CIT library from anywhere, encouraging research and self-study. It also offers advanced IT facilities such as Wi-Fi enabled areas within the campus to maintain students in touch and ease in leaning. To give the practical training, the college has various departments that offer different practical lab facilities through which, the Scholar can implement the knowledge acquired in the classroom.

At present, CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College provides seven full time diploma courses and all of them are regular course. The diploma programmes encompass many fields of engineering, progressing with students’ needs and various sectors’ requirements. These programmes aim at producing competent students who can be produced both theoretically and practically, to allow to practice their respective courses in the future. The admission requirements at CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College is easy and hassle free. Some of the diploma programmes include Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering and so on. The intake for these courses takes an average of forty students but the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course takes a total of sixty students. Such flexibility in courses assures students get to enrol in a programme of their choice depending on their Buttons and the engineering field of interest.

CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College aims at delivering quality education to the students. There is a good conference hall in the college for 100 set up with all amenities including smart board and LCD projector. For many people, the CIT auditorium is used for cultural activities, dully, workshops and conferences able to hold 1500 people. The college has a gym and other sports amenities which could be prescribed for health and fitness of students as they participate in their sporting activities.
