, Both the streams are equally good and it depends upon your interests and passion what you want to pursue. As far as placement is concerned, Production Engineering is great option in present while Industrial Biotechnology has brighter future.
And if we talk about the courses in GCT

see I would suggest you to go for civil engineering in Government college of engineering salem. since civil engineering belongs to a core engineering discipline, it has more work and higher study opportunity than production engineering. however being from civil department you may work as a field engineer, manufacturing
