RV College has a large and modern campus with smart classrooms, advanced labs, and good Wi-Fi access. The library is huge with plenty of books and e-resources. The environment feels professional, giving students real exposure to quality learning facilities.
RVCW boasts modern infrastructure with well equipped classrooms, state of the art labs, spacious hostels and abundant green spaces. it provides a conductive evironment for academic and personal growth.
When I graduated, the ECE building was falling apart. The library was understocked as well. I see they've made improvements recently so its better now. The Wifi was unreliable and the gym was subpar. The labs were well stocked though. The food used to be good in my first year but declined along the way.
Yes, to get admission into colleges that come under PMSSS (Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme) such as RV College of Engineering (RVCE), BMS College of Engineering (BMSCE), and other private engineering colleges in Karnataka, you generally need to qualify through the regular engineering admission process of the state or the institute. PMSSS itself does not conduct a separate entrance exam; it only provides a scholarship to eligible students after admission.
For most Karnataka engineering colleges like RVCE and BMSCE, admission is primarily done through KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) for state quota seats and through COMEDK UGET for management/private quota seats. Students applying under PMSSS are usually required to secure admission through one of these recognised entrance exams, depending on the seat category available for PMSSS candidates in that particular college.
In some cases, if you are opting for management quota seats, the college may consider your JEE Main score or conduct its own admission process, but this varies from college to college. After securing admission through the approved entrance route, eligible students from J&K and other notified regions can then apply for PMSSS to receive the scholarship benefits.
So, in summary, you are required to appear for an entrance exam like KCET, COMEDK, or sometimes JEE Main, depending on the college and seat type. PMSSS works as a financial support scheme and not as an alternative admission route. It is important to check the admission brochure of both the college and PMSSS for the specific year to understand seat availability and eligibility conditions clearly.
All the best.
