The college infrastructure is not good. if you wanna opt for higher studies like M.Tech ,M.S. then only come to this college coz attendance here is compulsary. The placement here is good compared to other tier three colleges in bengal. t is known for its excellent performance in the university and has been the frontrunner in producing top rankers. Some of the students are now highly acclaimed and established being in prestigious Govt organizations like ISRO, BARC as Scientists and reputed Institutes like MIT, University of New Jersey, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and IITs and IIMs, IMS Ghaziabad for higher education. The college has produced students who are professionally well placed across the globe in some of the leading MNCs like Intel, Microsoft, Qualcom, Ericsson, Siemens and leading PSUs lin India some of which are SAIL, BHEL, NTPC etc.

Batch of Jan. 1, 2017 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
Does not have a campus of its own. Shares with 2 schools. In labs only few computers are in working condition. Wifi provided is of poor quality and is limited to college computers only. No exposure to the outer world. Its like eating what is being served to you. No scope of exercising your personal opinions. Parents call and paying fines(for not cutting nails or painting them-for girls or not shaving- for guys) is a day to day affair here. 6 days a week college with compulsory daily attendance in proper uniform. Cognizant and Infosys are mass machine recruiters manufactured by STCET with only 50% placement. As a suggestion, instead of polishing the better ones, efforts should be made to enhance the quality of the average crowd thereby increasing the overall quality of the students.

Batch of Jan. 1, 2020 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
St.Thomas College of Engineering and Technology is guided by honorable director Mr. Gautam Banerjee . His strict guidance has made sure that from students to the faculty members, everyone remains focused to their tasks. The college is under cctv surveillance and has zero tolerance to ragging. Proper uniform and strict timings are maintained. Moreover, students are so well guided by the faculty membera and the staff that no one needs to run here and there to gather information. It has very good infrastructure. Equipped with very spacy laboratories and sufficient raw materials. Excellent library and availability of books. It is also equipped with a badminton court and a huge football ground. The Cognizant and Tata Consultancy services have their training labs in the campus. Excellent placement record maintained with major recruiters being tcs, cognizant, wipro, infosys and nomura rift. Also at the end of each semester, students are taken to Industrial visits to make them equipped with industrial knowledge. It also is very affordable with just INR 40000 required per semester.

Discipline - The fundamental requisition to march up

Batch of Jan. 1, 2014 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
St. Thomas College of Engg & Tech is situated in Kidderpore, Kolkata , offering B.Tech in four segments namely Computer Science , ECE, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with a modest batch Size of 240-260 students. Yes, undoubtedly the batch strength plays a key role as it indicates the high probability of getting placed during the on campus placements. However, the college portrays a different dimension all together, maintaining a low profile avatar while restricting themselves from unnecessary advertising activities as the primary moto of this college has remained the same - " To impart meaningful and quality education and to make the students capable of matching the standards of the industry with discipline amalgamated within their lives" . Yes, Discipline - It is solely integrated in the daily life of thomasites including the late entrance fine to the premise as well as low attendance in each and single subject during each of the semesters. It may sound a little off trend but it indeed is the USP of this college as each and single student gets to adhere the guidelines set by the college, helping them to understand the impact of discipline in our lives. Now talking about placements, it takes place during the 7th semester and one thing is assured that if someone has the required potential, the college will come up with ample job opportunities and that too in top MNCs like CTS, INFOSYS, Vodafone, ITC, Accenture, Siemens etc with a guaranteed cent percent placement of the batch. The college also conducts international seminar , personality -soft skill development programs for students and several sporting activities. So in a nutshell, the college offers a full package with a sound infrastructure , backed by eminent set of faculties as well as a strong Governing body of top notch industry officials.

The infrastructure can improve but the faculty is good and the placement is definitely among the top colleges. The discipline is also commendable. The campus has a basketball court, a cricket ground and a badminton court. It also has a canteen which is small but the food is good.

Academically good. Nice faculty.. Spent brilliant 4 years with an awesome group in my department. Placement was good enough and almost 70 percent students were placed through the placement organized by the institution. Most importantly we got the scope for sports which is very much essential.

This college is for those students who want to be university toppers

College infrastructure on an average scale is quite good. Professors are excellent . Regular international conferences are held. In the current placement scenario of west bengal it is among the best colleges which provide quality placement with almost all students getting placed. The canteen facility is okay but not good.Library contains all the necessary materials to support needs of the students and additionally international and national magazines are available to make the students aware of what's going on in the industry. College has two common rooms, one basketball ground and a large common field for outdoor activities. This college is best for those who want to study CSE or IT but not suggested for EE. Every year students from this college score high in university securing top three positions in it. Most of the pass out students have high dgpa and are well placed in MNC's .

I would like to rate my college as an average engineering college. About placements they are more or less good near about 70% of the students get job. For library facility I would like to rate my college as 10/10. Sports are an awesome part of our college. I do enjoy the sports facilities in my college.
