VGSOM IIT Kharagpur requires a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT and it only considers the overall percentile and not the sectional ones. So it may be a little difficult to get a call from there. But since you've a pretty decent CAT percentile so you can still get some very good colleges like
  • LBSIM Delhi
  • BIM Trichy
  • LIBA Chennai
  • BIMTECH Noida
  • XIME Bangalore
  • Department of Management Studies, IISc Bangalore
  • FMS BHU
  • XISS Ranchi
  • Christ University Bangalore
  • IFIM Business School and others.

All of them are good in terms of academics and placements with strong alumni base. So you must try to appear for their GD/PI processes, given that you've registered for them.

Moreover among these colleges also BIM Trichy, BIMTECH Noida and LBSIM Delhi will offer you placement opportunities as good as IIT Kharagpur with an average compensation package of 10-12 lakhs.

Good Luck

Admission to IIT Kharagpur is based on JEE advanced and not JEE main only

To appear for JEE advanced you need to first qualify JEE main and at this percentile score it is almost impossible to get qualified for JEE advanced therefore I would suggest you to appear for JEE main April session and score more than 90 percentile to be eligible to appear for JEE advanced and then get a good rank in JEE advanced to secure a seat in IIT Kharagpur

You should go for VGSOM IIT Kharagpur. Though both are equally good colleges and you'll have good academic programs over there but VGSOM has a great reputation among corporates and has a stronger alumni base at higher levels as compared to IIT Madras. These  colleges condider only the overall CAT percentile which should be minimum 90.Your previous records won't be a huge concern if you perform well in the subsequent selection rounds. With your scores you can also check out colleges like
  • MDI Gurgaon
  • IMI Delhi
  • IMT Ghaziabad
  • XIMB Bhubaneshwar
  • Sailesh j Mehta School of Management
  • Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi and others.

Good Luck

VGSOM IIT Kharagpur requires a minimum of 90 percentile in CAT to give a call and considering your performance in the entrance exam and your past academic records you can definitely expect a call from them. In fact with your percentile you can also check out colleges like
  • IMT Ghaziabad
  • IMI Delhi
  • XIMB Bhubaneshwar
  • FORE School of Management
  • KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research
  • Great Lakes Chennai and others

Good Luck

With your CAT percentile it will be difficult to get into FMS Delhi but considering your academic scores it would be difficult to get a call from VGSOM IIT Kharagpur also because they require a minimum of 60 percent in 10th, 12th and graduation for general candidates and for others it is a minimum of 55 percent.

Hi Aniket,

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur is probably the most reputed branch of IIT in India. At the undergraduate level,  in the field of Engineering, it offers a B.Tech. program, an integrated B.Tech + M.Tech. program and an integrated b.Tech. + MBA program. Unfortunately, like every other  IIT, it only takes admissions on the basis of the JEE-Advanced examination.

hi,

see cutoff score changes year to year and depends on lot of factors like number of participants, questions difficulty level etc, for general category student, if you have more than 750 gate score you have chances in iits for mtech , however it may changes year to year.

Hey Vasu,

VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur provides management courses. The cut-off is around 90+ percentile for general category students. So, you do have a good chance to get a call.
The fees is around 6.7 lacs for the entire course and the placement package provided on average is 15 lacs per annum.

Now, about IIT Madras. DoMS, IIT Madras has cut-off percentile around 96+. So, you can expect a call from them too. Their fees is around 8 lacs and placement package is 12 lacs per annum on average.

But, admission also depend on writing ability test, personal interview and group discussion.
So, you may apply in both the institute and then once you get a call, make sure you perform well in all the other rounds.
You academic background and work experience also plays a very important role in admissions.

Hope this helps!

Oh no you have definitely got the wrong idea here. Whether you got into IIT through JEE or JAM doesn't matter. Every student of the institution is allowed to apply for campus placements regardless of his methos of admission. You should have the minimum required GPA set by your college and you are good to go.

Hello Singaram Saikiran,

It is get good marks in jee advanced exam i.e., more than the cut-off marks in jee advanced entrance exam then you have a change to get the seat in IIT colleges like IIT kharagpur. If you qualify in jee mains then you are eligilbly for attending for the jee advanced. All the best for the future.

Hope this helps you..
