With 55.8 percentile in JEE Mains, your CRL rank would be around 4,00,000 and your ST category rank would be around 10,000.
I am sorry to say but with this rank, the only branches in NIT Srinagar that you seem to eligible for

I would recommend you to choose IIIT Gwalior IT DUAL Degree.

The reason is 

• You will get Btech+ Mtech degree in 5 year usually it takes 6 years. 
• In case you want to do mtech you need to qualify GATE here you get it easily.

It doesn't matter from where you are if HS quota is not the case.

Only thing which matters is your JEE main rank which will decide whether you are eligible or not.

So if you have good rank then you can go for CSE in good colleges , if

Aneeqa, it seems rather difficult for you to get admission in NIT Srinagar. This is based on your rank and previous year cutoffs. They close admissions after around 70.000 rank.

But again it depends on the number of students who appeared for the exam and as well as the difficulty

Hello Sagar. NITs would be better than private colleges. But not all NITs. IT or CSE in CBIT, RNS, BNM would be better than IT or CSE in NIT Srinagar. Coming to placements college doesn't matter but the thing matters is your grip over the subject, knowledge and your skills.
