That depends on the college as some autonomous colleges are good and some are not good. Visvedvaraya technological university is a good university and only a few autonomous colleges better than this.

It depends on the individual college, you can't generalise, even some autonomous institutes borrow some of their syllabus from VTU.

Basically both of them are good university and honestly it depend on student to student and their experiences. Both university follows same education system.

where as NIRF ranking ANNA UNIVERSITY is placed in top comparatively to vtu and Anna university is oldest than VTU. Also all colleges under Anna university are not good so you have to selecte and than go for anna university. 

Coming to the students satisfaction in both these universities, Anna University has better feedbacks when compared to VTU.

The advantages being:-

1. You only have to study whatever your teacher taught you in class, because he is only going to frame the question paper, and if you are attentive enough in the class you can even trim down your study topics/Syllabus.
2. The Syllabus can be updated very easily on the basis of industry needs as the Red Tape is little less here.
3. Your competition is fairly restricted to people in your class.
4. Not much of travel for clerical work related to university etc.
5. You can explore your subject more, as lot of time if you are attentive in class you do not have to go through it again and you can invest your extra time in learning something new.

due to the above advantages , people usually prefer autonomous colleges .

No, Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum don't provide online degree education system. The degree is provided on campus curriculum.
