Even fir computer science, general rank of 50k to 55k should be enough. As for other branches in B.E. , students with even 1.5 to 1.8 lakhs rank might  be able to secure a seat.

Placement is quite good in BIT Patna. the average package is 4-5 lakhs per annum. The lowest provide is up to 3.30 lakhs per annum. THE HIGHEST PACKAGE IS 12-14 LAKH PER ANNUM. You are if really good in coding c and c++ branches that don't matter you will necessarily be placed. 

And in case of Thapar University  last year the placement was 99% and the average package was around 6.7 lakhs. To my knowledge highest package was of 42 lpa. Many famous companies come during placements and nearly every student gets a job. This same can be said about other branches.

See the rank u have secured in the JEE mains is too low for u to grab a seat in the good colleges like NITs IIITs or GFTIs for pursuing ur higher studies in the field of ur interest under the btech courses. Hey Shubham, Congratulations on scoring 187217 ranks in JEE MAINS and you also belong from outside Bihar. Sorry to say but there are very fewer chances of getting a seat in CSE in BIT PATNA> You can try for ECE there and you might get a seat there. I will personally suggest you apply in that college and wait for counseling and also apply in some private colleges like Chandigarh University and some other colleges too so that you can secure your seat there. You can check your colleges first in your home state so that you will be getting admission there in home state quota. You can even check and explore various colleges at JEE MAINS COLLEGE PREDICTOR 360 and it will be really helpful for you. Yes you have a chance of getting admission in BIT Patna in any branch.You can get branches like ECE,Electrical,IT and other production branches.
