Generally it is possible but it depends on both the college's authority which one you want to leave and where you wish to get seat in so I would suggest you to talk to the college officials directly to know what criteria they follow in migration case as the process varies college wise.

It's totally depends on you. If you are determined to get into top NITs then you can prepare for JEE Main exam. Make sure you prepare well for your exam. Make your basics strong. Learn from your past mistakes. Focus on the important topics. Solve as many as MCQs for your preparation. You should also solve complete mock test series to analyze your preparation level and to know your weak and strong areas. So, you can work upon them.

If you are asking for top branch in BIT patna then it is CSE, IT and ECE. Students from these branches get good placement and mostly students get placed. Placements in EEE are also decent. In Civil, Mechanical & Production, getting a placement in a core company is tougher. The companies where students have got oncampus placements are: MuSigma,Verizon, TechMahindra, Cybage,Sapient, Mahindra ComViva, Wipro, Aricent, Ericsson, Pinnacle Technologies, Jindal Steel, GMMCO, Symanta, Electrosteel, Maruti, Saakar Constuctions, HDFC Bank, etc. None of these have offered above 6.5 Lacs (Maruti).
Top companies also visit the campus for placements like Amazon, Flipkart, DirectI, DeShaw.
