No, Our college is far behind in case of infrastructure department.Presently ,Many labs like electrical labs use vintage measuring equipment. Class rooms have same old mercury tube lights ,furniture and green boards however smarts boards were attached to every classroom but no faculty uses them. Laboratories have same old equipments and those software which are new and advanced can't be managed due to lazy and untrained faculty members. There is no wifi facility in our campus except IT building.
Yes, our curriculum is well updated and our syllabus are equivalent to that of IITs. Which obviously make us job ready. But, The quality of is teaching is not well good enough only few of the faculty members are good enough and respectable.
Placement scenario in our campus is just below average.Only few of the students about 30 to 35% of students got placed and majority of them are in IT sector. Highest salary offered to any student in our college is about RS.14 lac per annum in CSE branch. Average salary is around 4 lac per annum. Placement process is quite like a surprise to us which and when company is coming is a mystery for us .
Our annual fees including mess and hostel charges are around RS. 60,000. For this amount of fees we are getting quite a good value for money. Because our college has one of the lowest fee structures in the entire country.
Our college campus is grand in matter of size with around 450 acre of land and one of the biggest campus in India. Students can go to libraries , ground and to Mg for time pass and study. Support is incredible from students not much from the teachers and staff members.Location is little bit concerning in case of emergencies because it is 20 Km from the main city.
No
Unlike IITs and NITs, still the college is worth in terms of infrastructure, having an well equipped IT Building with SIEMENS lab inside and Incubation centre for the startup minds to pitch their idea in getting funds from the Government.
Proffesors are research minded, they have too much knowledge on their respective fields. If you are studious enough, then they will be of great help. But don't dare mess with them, otherwise you won't be getting degree even after 6 years of your B.Tech career.
If you have enough potential and soft skills, then the placement door is knocking you. Top recruiters always finds interest in hiring BITians for their talent and overwhelming nature of confidence and personality.
Top State Government college, you pay less than expected but you gain higher than expected.
Awesome, magnificent and one of the best of it's kind.
At the time of starting stage of BIT Sindri (1949),it was situated in patna after that the college shifted in sindri dhanbad in 1951with two department(ME and EE). At that time there established with huge academic building, 2 departmental building and 6 hostel with 240 beds. But in present, our college has well necessarily infrastructure likhe central library, 28 hostels, 13 department and more important is that the presence of siemens lab with advanced courses like PLC, SCADA and much more.
The professors here are very knowledgeable with a lot of experience and new professors who have completed their study from IITs and NITs are being recruited. Professors are quite good in delivering the knowledge, but student must have to wprk hard for self development. Recently from 2018 syllabus changes from VBU to JUT.
Placement are not so good as compare to NITs and IITs. But the heighest package offered by tata steel is approximately 12lpa. Overall average package is 4.8lpa, but for the core branch likhe electrical it's 6lpa.
The college is one of the best college among all government and private institutions in term of value for money. In the college you are going to complete your 4 year degree program in just 3 lakh for general category. But for other category and girls overall fee's is much less.
Campus life is awesome. There is greenery surrounding which helps to calm your consciousness mind. And more important there are various club activities which helps to built the personality development of students. BIT sindri has it's own official magzine "SARJANA", which is responsible for spread all activities inside the campus.
My college has almost all the necessary infrastructure and its improving day by day. We have clean classrooms well equiped with smart boards, projectors etc. Library has all the necessary books. Even the old laboratory equipments are being replaced with new ones .
I am studying electronics and communication because i think i have a keen interest in this field so i want to learn more about it. The quality of teaching can be improved to some extent. The curriculum is still not updated it's really based on thoretical knowledge and very less focused on practical knowledge or advanced technology.
If i speak for my department then the placement scenario is not so good as there are no core companies which comes visits for campus placement. In my department almost 50% students get placed every year. Average package offered is 3.5 lacs.
Cost wise my college is really worth. As its a government college so i pay almost nothing as compared to any NIT IITs or any other private colleges. Also i get really good facilities for what i pay so it's totally worth the money.
There are many clubs/societies which are formed for various purposes eg. Cultural, technical, literature, etc. These clubs organise many extracurricular events which help students improvise their other skills.
College infrastructure is ok. It has all the basics facilities which a engg. college should have. But don't have much sports centres .we only have one main ground for every sports practice and we also don't have coaches for any sports
I'm pursuing ECE coz of the current scenario of the globe and also because of my interest in the subjects of ECE. I think curriculum is now being updated and yeah its improving our skills. There's not only technical part which makes you job ready so I'll probably say no.
Placement is not so upto the mark as earlier it used to be. Many good and reputed company visits every year to select best mind according to their company's demand. I'll talk about my branch ECE so, every year 80%got placement by the end of their last semester.
In 2k18 our college stands at 2nd position for the survey done for value for money. My course costs 22k per year. I feel I'm getting my money's worth as Engg. Colleges with so low fees are so less in iur country.
In College campus we can see versatile and intelligent mind . Location is ok far from the main city sorrunded by trees. Students support is one of the good thing about the campus and offcourse it can handle emergencies . Yeah it is safe
Our college provides all the basic infrastructure. Well equipped labs, classroom with smart board, AC .The library provides all the books that is required, for a semester we can issue 5 books. Wifi is also available for our use but only restricted to IT building. Newly constructed IT building is really very good.
The name of my course is ECE ie electronics and communications. The branch which I am pursuing is what I like the most and always wanted to make my career in this field. Frankly speaking the teaching method is average. The faculties are good, helpful. Yes our curriculum is updated and includes all the recent developments in the field. We are very much encouraged for GATE etc .
The overall placement of my college is average. But every year there is improvement in the figures of placement. Basically the placement in our college varies according to the branch. This year mining branch received very good placements. Vedanta, Tata steel, ZS are some of the major companies visiting our college. The placement cell is helpful. The only thing which our college lags in is providing internship opportunities.
Our college is really very good in terms of investments. Ours fees is really very low.
BIT is improving it's infrastructure continuously . Classroom reminds our schooldays. Lab equipments are too old . Library has whole lot of books you may need in your college life. No wifi facilities, smart boards are hardly used. Sweeper will regularly clean your living space for free , but food is too oily .
I'm an electrical engineering student, as I have always been eager to know about all electrical gadgets . The curriculum is quite theoretical but, faculty members are highly knowledgeable who tends to keep us updated. If you are keen to know, professors will greatly assist you.
Average Placement package here is around 2.5 to 3 lakhs and it was 10 lakh at the high end. Electrical batch is at the top in terms of placement. Other branches like mining, metallurgy also have good records in placement. But, Production, CSE,IT have poor record in this. The placement graph is improving with time and placement cell also works hard to get its students placed.
The college charges ₹32 for a girls, sc,st and OBC candidates And around ₹ 7500 for boys(general) for academics which is quite impressive. You may also apply for scholarships if needed. Mess fee is ₹100 per day .
Campus is very large having 2 sports playgrounds over there. Various clubs and societies have emerged like coding club, arts club, painting wing, ECO Club , sports club and more which can ingage you in my activities throughout the year. The college location is rural where it takes almost one and a half hour to reach the main city ( Dhanbad) . No better medical facilities are available even in emergency.
If you get this college, you should join it as b. Tech at such a low fee is quite rare and that too from a renowned college.
Yes my college have adequate equipments but there is lot more required. food quality is very good, mess is available and staffs are hygenic. The equipments needed to handle very carefully and frequently because some of them have stopped working.
Metallurgical engineering because I've always been interested in this field. curriculum is devloped at many extent but updates needed. I've always been interested the operation behind the steel industries .
Placement quality is very good. Return on investment is brilliant. In the batch of 2019 placements was 100 percent in Metallurgical engineering. Opportunities are very high. TCS ,Wipro etc are software companies which came to campus for providing opportunities and in core field ABG , TATA steel and JSL are reqruiters.
College is equipped with all the infrastructure needed containing modern facility labs established by siemens for robotics, automation and different courses for various branches.Hostels are in very good condition. Classes are equipped with smart board for fluid way of study. Living spaces are well maintained and hygienic.
I am studying electrical engineering. Quality of teaching is very good. Professors are very interactive. Curriculum consists of use of programming language which is new in this field. Curriculum is vast and regularly asked in several job interviews. Still it requires a little scope of improvement
Placements in the college are good.Companies like Vedanta, Jsw, Tata steel, Tata Power, Hindustan Unilever are some of the companies which are regularly coming in the college. College is very supportive during placements. Average salary may be considered to 5-6 lpa. Further college is helpful to students and helps them to prepare for competitive examination like GATE, CAT and developing communication skills for interviews.
Bit, Sindri is one of the best college for value for money as the cost per year is very low. It is less than 2.5 lakhs for 8 sems.
It is one of the best and oldest college of East India. Established in 1949 makes it one of the first engineering colleges in India. The alumni network is wide and well settled.Teachers are very good. It is located in outskirts of Dhanbad hence some facilities are not available immediately but transportation is good hence it is accessible but takes time from Main city of Dhanbad. Students are friendly seniors are very interactive.
One of the finest college for value for money in India.
The College has got every necessary equipments and facilities but many are outdated. Classrooms are very good and hygiene is maintained. Smart boards are available in every classroom. But wifi connectivity isn't there everywhere. Sanitation and hygiene is maintained.
The studies and curriculum is ok if compared on all India basis. The teaching faculty is good and has a good lot of experience. You need to be updated with the world despite being in any college of India. Job-ready, indeed it is enough but for excellence and an extra edge you need to groom yourself according to the demands of the market.
Placement has been here average. An average of 4 lakh pa is easily achievable here if you have the simple idea of the curriculum and have a good CV. Around 70% of the students get campus placement and the here core branches have got a decent average.
Yes the College is value for money. The cost is very low as compared to NITs and IITs since here we have equivalent teaching status as in NITs. There are ample scholarships for the needy and girls have the minimum tution fee.
Yes, you will surely enjoy the campus life. Initially it is a strange and odd but eventually it becomes a great place. The college is not in main town. But yes the fests attract many other college students as well for competition.
The college was established in 1949 and since then it has seen many ups and downs. It has a good alumini connect and it is under a rapid development phase and is striving to get better. If you are a learning enthusiastic then this place will be good for you despite some of the shortcomings.
