JCET Ottapalam Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The college provides hostel facilities to the boys' students. The hostel rooms are spacious, well-furnished, and well-ventilated. Laundry services are also available in the Boys' Hostel.  

JCET Palakkad provides separate hostel facilities for the girls' students. The hostel rooms are well-ventilated and well-furnished. 

The college has a sick room that provides first aid facilities and other medical assistance to staff members and students during medical emergencies.   

The college has a gym facility on campus. The gym area is equipped with various modern exercise equipment and machines to maintain the balanced lifestyle.

The college has a central library which is fully computerised and is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, printed and electronic journals, CD-ROMs, periodicals, magazines, and project reports. The college library follows the open access system to access the reading material. The books are barcoded and scientifically classified into the DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification scheme). The college library has a circulation section, reprographic section, newspaper reading section, technical section, general reading area, periodicals section, journal section, MBA reference section, CD-ROM storage, and digital library.

JCET Palakkad provides various indoor and outdoor games and sports facilities to the students on the college campus. There are various equipment such as chess, carrom, badminton, cricket and other sports available at the college.

The college has an Internet of Things Lab (IoT lab) whose main objective is to build up technical expertise and to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in the IoT domain. The lab provides students and faculty members access to the latest tools and resources in IoT.

The college has a cafeteria which serves healthy and nutritious food and snacks to the staff members and the students at reasonable prices. 

The college has an auditorium which has a seating capacity of approximately 800 people. The college also has a seminar hall where several formal and informal events of the college take place throughout the year. 

JCET Palakkad has its fleet of buses for easy transportation. The buses help the students and the staff members to commute from one place to another easily and safely. 

The college is well-connected with a high-speed internet facility. Students and teachers can use the wifi facility for study and research purposes.

JCET Palakkad has various departmental laboratories which are equipped with various sophisticated tools and equipment.

The college provides parking facilities to the staff members and the students. Faculty members and students can park their vehicles on the college campus parking area. 

The college has a guest house/waiting room facility for visiting faculty and student family members. The guestrooms are well ventilated and well furnished for convenience.

The college has an extracurricular activities facility for all students and also provides NCC and NSS facilities. The NCC is the largest uniformed youth organisation. The NCC in India was formed under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. NCC is a tri-service organisation, comprising the Army, Navy, and Air Wing. The NCC provides opportunities to the youth of the country for their all-round development with a sense of duty and discipline, commitment, dedication, and moral values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The National Service Scheme was started to establish a meaningful linkage between the campus and the community. For the national reconstruction and national resurgence, it was deemed fit that the students and teachers should be properly sensitised and utilised for strengthening the Indian society as a whole, with particular emphasis on the rural community. Therefore, student youth, teachers, and the community are considered the three basic components of the National Service Scheme.

JCET Palakkad has classroom facilities for all students. The classrooms are designed to provide an excellent learning environment to them for effective learning.

The college has good networking for the alumni association. The college invites alumni to motivate current students for future purposes.

The college's Training and Placement Cell of JCET coordinates the placement activities of all engineering departments. The training and placement cell provides arrangements for pre-placement talks and other activities. The cell always keeps in touch with recruiters. The cell collaborates with various industries and corporations which conduct campus interviews and select students from all disciplines. The Training & Placement Cell provides the infrastructural facilities to conduct group discussions, tests and interviews.

All the students will undergo the training provided by the JCET faculty and external faculties. The placement training will happen in three phases. The first phase includes general guidance to students regarding the corporate culture. The second phase includes corporate talks and other grooming sessions. And the final phase deals with individual training for students. After the three phases of the training, the students will be equipped for campus placements.

JCET Palakkad has a workshop facility for students. The workshop provides hands-on learning facilities for all students.
