Good college and faculty

Batch of 2010 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
I was the third batch in this college. So the college was pretty new. And it was good when compared to other new colleges. Good Faculty. The thing which I didn't like is the unnecessary strictness. Treating us like kids. And very less extracurricular activities. And Placement is also good. Altogether good college.

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Plus Points *) Campus is located on the outskirts of Trivandrum city so the living expense is cheap. *) Walking from the entrance gate into the main building is a good exercise and you will kinda feel like trekking because the building is on top of a mound. *) College name starts with the name of a well renowned Indian space scientist called Vikram Sarabhai. *) There is SBT ATM facility inside the campus. *) This is an ISO certified institution *) Average Lab facility *) Indoor Auditorium *) College Day *) Hostel facilities Minus Points *) The overall quality of teaching is very poor and the faculties are young without industrial experience but there are very few faculties with experience and high-quality teaching. *) There is no interaction between the management and students. *) There is no basic facilities such as Drinking Water, Infirmary etc. *) Classrooms and toilets will clean only twice in a week. Sometimes you may have to wear goggles to protect your eyes in the toilet. *) The layout or design of the classroom makes you feel like you are still in higher secondary school. *) There is no playground for cricket or football etc and you will find a funny basketball mud court where you cannot dribble(bounce) your basketball. *) There is no excursion *) There is no college fest where you can enhance your managerial skill *) There is no facility for improve your English speaking skill and to prepare for an interview. *) Placement rate is below 2% Conclusion : If you want a just a B-tech degree and you don't want to be industrial ready or don't want to gain the engineering skills this college is enough for you. note: The above review is applicable till 2015 and it is in my perspective and always consult current students in the third or fourth year and please take a tour in few campus and compare and take right choice.

Batch of 2019 | B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering
As we are in the first year we have only got six month time to know about our college. But things we have experienced in these days make us proud that we are a part of this college. We have got well efficient faculty members, most of our seniors professors were retired from ISRO. College had got a good placement cell. The hostel ambience gives us a homely atmosphere.

Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
It's an average type educational institution. Enjoyable while confessing us to studies but not up to the mark. Teaching staffs are friendly but their ability in teaching is yet to be considered. Overall rating 5/10. College life is somewhat boring., not many extracurricular activities etc. Life is through a narrow path and wisdom is the only cure. Hate our university KTU, Bad University and its bad conditions.

SIST is a self-financing institute established in 2004 by the space engineer's welfare society at Vellanad, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. They offer 6 undergraduate courses and 6 postgraduate courses.Faculty members are good and offer great support for new ideas and entrepreneurship. The hostel offers good accommodation. There are 3 hostels for boys and girls.Library is well equipped with books ranging from syllabus to GRE's, CAT's and GATE exams.Infrastructure is good with the campus sitting on about 50 acres.Promotion of sports and cultural activities is not good.Placement is nearly average. The campus is located about 20 km from the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city.Admission is through Kerala engineering entrance.

Think before planning to be an engineer.

Batch of 2010 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
I was among the third batch of this college. Obviously college life was fair and good just because pf the batch mates. Most of the professors were those retired from ISRO, who had no idea of teaching. In those 4 years, I hope only a very few professors taught well. And, the syllabus was CUSAT, which made it pretty more tough to score in the exams. Had a lot of trouble in getting a good score in the university exams.
