The list of selected candidates of IIT Kharagpur M.Tech Admission 2019 Round 4 has been released through COAP. Candidates can now check the offers and exercise their decision till June 15, 2019. For admission into M.Tech programmes offered by the institute, the candidates could apply for IIT Kharagpur M.Tech 2019 admission till April 24, 2019. Candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria of IIT Kharagpur M.Tech admission 2019 before applying. Candidates had to fill and submit the application form on or before the deadline. The IIT Kharagpur M.Tech 2019 admission is based either on GATE Score only or on GATE Score (70 % weightage) and personal interview (30 % weightage). Congratulations for cracking the JEE main examination.

Now you are confused between three options, whether to choose ECE in IIT Bhubaneswar, or Metallurgical engineering in IIT Kharagpur or chemical engineering in IIT Bombay.

I would suggest you to opt for ECE in IIT Bhubaneswar.

ECE is one of the emarging engineering branch of the world. So the placement opportunities are increasing day by day. But chemical engineering and metallurgical engineering are facing placement problem now. If you wants a good package then go for ECE.

3 IITs are same according to infrastructure,faculties,hostel facilities, laboratories, tech club, sports club etc.

And keep it in your mind that placement depends upon a candidate's hard skills and soft skills.

First of all Congratulating you on your nice performance that you deserve both of the nice college and I would like to tell you that based on three choices if you were to take my opinion then I would suggest you to take admission in chemical engineering at iit Bombay because it is most prestigious college in the country unlike iit bhubaneswar. But if you are interested in metallurgy then iit Kharagpur is also a better place than iit bhubaneswar. So choose smartly considering my views.

Placements: Opportunities are wide, one can get a job opportunity in both core and non core companies and one can take a job which can give him satisfaction and salary, campus also encourage startups and senior's will help in your ideas, one can take higher studies by shifting to M.Tech which helps them to get a job (higher position).Statistics of placements here are great. Around 70-80% of students do get placed. The average for Non-CS and non-EC branches is roughly 10-12 lakhs. The internship is much more fight from the campus.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good 24/7 Wi-Fi and LAN which help students to clear their doubts at hostel.

Following information will help you get a clear idea about the asked placement statistics:

• Around 50% students are placed, with a package of around 3 lakh per annum. Only one or two excellent students get more than 10 lakh per annum. 
• The rest get employed through GATE and Combined Geo scientist exam.
• Earlier when there was oil and gas sector boom,many MNCs were recruiting from IIT Kharagpur. Nowadays, MNC placements have decreased significantly in geology and geophysics department.
• Some PSUs like CIL and ONGC come for campus drive every year. Most of the PSUs are recruiting through GATE score.
• As of jobs in core, the market is quite volatile and unpredictable. Situation may or may not improve in upcoming years.

Most of the students do not take adequate care in choosing the proper M. Tech course where as it is the most important career decision very much within their control unlike the admission to B. Tech which depends on JEE rank, age limit, financial needs etc. over which one may not have control.

Doing multimedia information processing from iit Kharagpur would be great and you can easily get job in this field.

This course has very good placements and you can get very good packages.

But you should only do it if you are having interest in it.

IIT Kharagpur is one of the best engineering colleges in India. It offers tremendous opportunities. 

Ocean Engineering and Naval architecture is a decent branch. Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture is a discipline that embraces diverse areas of engineering sciences. In a broad sense, this discipline is concerned with design, development, operation, and planning of systems that operate in the marine and ocean environment.

If suppose your son doesn't like the branch, he likes CSE then still he can do minor in CS and sit for placements of IT companies. Most IT companies allow students from all branches to sit for placements.  So, you should not worry, he is in a great place to do engineering.
