I hope you are doing fine, Go for BTech. I  think the dual-degree programs are fantastic, but why go for an early  commitment. And if the MTech part of the dual degree is in a specialized  area, that should be avoided.

Coming on to the college I would Suggest you to go with IIT Delhi since it is in Metro City and Many Companies go there for placement that do not go to IIT Kharagpur.

better professors, the caliber of your would-be batchmates, placement opportunities (A lot of multinational corporations like Samsung Korea and Rubrik U.S., don’t visit IIT Kharagpur, but regularly visit IIT Delhi to hire students for internships and placements), as well as the opportunities for pursuing further studies from top-tier international universities.

The vision of this Department in IIT KGP is to create research and teaching excellence in some of the core areas of Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture which includes disciplines like Marine Hydrodynamics, Marine Design & Production, Marine Structures and Ocean Environment.

Placement:

Almost 100% of the students got placed from our college. The highest salary package offered was 24.5 LPA, while the average salary package offered was 11.5 LPA. Many students of this branch are even placed in software sector.

IIT Kharagpur- Ocean Engineering:

• Placement percentage: around 100%
• Highest package : 24.5 Lakh
• Average package: 11.5 Lakh
• NIRF Ranking: 3

IIT Dharwad- Mechanical Engineering:

• Placement percentage: 60-70%
• Highest package: 40 Lakh
• Average package: 9 Lakh
• NIRF Ranking: 23

When we look at placement statistics of both Institute, IIT Kharagpur seems better choice than IIT Dharwad. IIT Kharagpur has way higher rankings both in NIRF or Global rankings when it compared to IIT Dharwad. IIT Kharagpur is also one of the most prestigious Institution of India.

Congrats on wonderful success in jee advance .According to your rank 2243 and you did mention category in question, so considering you as general category candidate, it is difficult to get seat iit kharagpur for Computer Science engineering. Last year closing rank for CS is 293. You should try for other branches like chemical, mechanical, civil, aerospace,etc.

• Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)

The preference order you should consider is:

1. IIT Delhi , Biotechnology
2. IIT Kanpur, Material
3. IIT Madras, Metallurgical
4. IIT Kharagpur, Material
5. IIT Kharagpur, manufacturing Science
6. IIT Hyderabad, Civil
7. IIT Indore, Mechanical

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet. More reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Dear Aspirant,if you are interested in computer science engineering and mechanical engineering both than I would recommend you to go for IIT Bangalore Computer Science Engineering. Computer Science Engineering is in demand and its worth is going to increase rapidly every year. The world is moving into a new era which requires CSE for advancement towards AI and ML. That does not reduce the worth of mechanical engineering. None is second to other. But according to me if you are getting an opportunity to study CSE at IIT then my suggestion would be go for it.

Yes you will be eligible for doing Mtech in IIT Kharagpur. IIT KGP offers Integrated B. Tech-M.Tech, Integrated M. Tech-PhD and PhD programs as well as opportunities for post-doctoral research for it's Biotechnology department and you'll find opportunities according to your preferences.

VIT is good but its not like IIT KGP because the alumni IIT KGP have is considerably large. The placement scenario for most of the trades are very good. Apart from this the exposure in terms of research, academics provided by an IIT can't be compared to any other college. Apart from this the faculties you will get in IIT KGP are the best of the researchers in India so the experience you will get is incomparable to VIT.

So both the institute is great but it can't be claimed that VIT is better than IIT KGP.
