The infrastructure of Jadavpur University is at per industry standard. Lab equipment are good but need updgration as per recent requirement from the industry. Otherwise there is a huge campus & within campus there are hostels, libraries & various grounds for different sports.
Academics is very highly rated here. The college is very well connected with other international colleges. In this college faculties are very professional & experienced. The student pool is very much into studies while maintaining their participation in other extracurricular activities.
In terms of Placements, Jadavpur University is one of the best in West Bengal. The college has rich alumni base all over world in different eminent organizations. The college is at per with IIT Kharagpur in terms of placements.
The fees was very less. So overall very good ROI.
Great infrastructure. Whatever is in college is well maintained. College spends a lot to maintain everything. But campus is almost negligible. College has no space for any extra curriculars but they are working towards something better in the coming years.
Amazing faculty, the best in town honestly. Most personalised studying and best curriculum and scoring pattern. Easy to get a 10 SGPA provided you do all the classes properly. Very academically oriented college.
Better than most colleges in Kolkata offering the same course. Companies come and hire many. Plus they have great companies coming for the mandatory 1 month internships. People get a fair chance to sit for the interviews.
I don't feel like any money charged to me was a waste but yet definitely it could have been a bit lower. My last semester fees was around 85k and overall it is a bit costly than the other colleges offering similar courses.
Great atmosphere around. Amazing faculty and a great crowd of students. Coming from the most elite families in Kolkata. Standard of the crowd is pretty high but definitely worth it. Plus faculty members are all amazing.
The college infrastructure for the BBA campus is sound enough to provide all the basic necessities and amenities that is required for our day to day activities. It does have air conditioned classrooms with white screens for ease of providing education. The library have a good collection of books ranging from both, our course related and non course related books. It does not have hostel facilities but is located at a point where all the PGs are easily available for both the boys and the girls.
The course provides a wide range of practical knowledge with teachers and mentors having industrial experience. Not only does the curriculum help us with an extended knowledge but the case studies taught stands way higher than what we intend to study at the beginner's level of the course, making it more challenging and interesting. This equips us to get a more analytical mindset with an opportunity to develop problem solving skills.
The placements are good enough when compared to someone pursuing a BBA course from another colleges. The average starting package stands a bit low because of the level at which we start our job positions at but the growth opportunities and hike after switches are praise-worthy. There are reputed companies like ITC, Deloitte, Aditya Birla Capital and many others who come to recruit the students from J.D. Birla Institute.
The overall fee costs approximately INR 5.4 LACS but is subject to changes based on the then-situations. Usually the fees tend to increase year-on-year. The money is worth it because of the brand the students carry (THE BIRLA BRAND). Moreover the quality of education it provides is undoubtedly not comparable to many colleges providing the same course in and around Kolkata.
The campus life is great because of the open bond the teachers and students hold. Apart from this, the team building excursion in the first year helps develop bonds which ultimately stays for the long term. Everyone stands supportive of each other and due to the the proactive leadership the college staffs take in case of emergencies, the college stands safe.
The college should appoint a student body, consisting of students who have passed the college, owing to the various obstacles in the day-to-day activities of the college between the students which can mostly be solved by peers and no direct involvement of teachers.
The classrooms and labs were very spacious and clean. The instrumentation is dated but works very well. The hostels and food options provided are quite good. Sometimes the premises do get littered by outsiders wandering in.
The academics is easily the best part about JU. The courses are taught by very experienced teachers and I found them to be very approachable. Some of them went out of their way to arrange for extra classes when we requested. The syllabus includes all recent developments in the field.
Placements are quite good and the pay packages they come with are really good compared to other places in Kolkata. The staff were always cooperative and did not make the paperwork difficult. They bring in some tech giants for hiring.
In my opinion, it is was worth every penny. I liked the academics and extracurricular activities. There were many societies on campus and frequent fests and conferences. The student population is diverse and quite fun to interact with.
I found the campus experience pretty decent overall. It does get a bit hectic at times with the overwhelming number of people who come in for various events. The support staff are quite nice and they do handle emergency situations efficiently.
I liked it
It is one of the best colleges in India. The living spaces are clean, the area is hygienic. It hosts an impressive library which contains the best of the best books. The classrooms are good. It organises many cocurricular activities which increases the cultural heritage if this region.
I love my subject and I am very much passionate about it. I plan to continue my studies further. The quality of teaching is very supreme. The curriculam is up to date and includes all the recent developments in the field, and make me very much ready for future.
I subject I study doesn't offer much placements. It's basically just a process of acquiring degress and higher studies, then jobs. But the engineering students get decent placements. Many of our students also opts for research, and I selected by many tops institutions, including ISRO.
It is very much worth the money spent on it. The cost of the overall package is rupess 7200. It is must cheaper than many reputed universities as it is a government university. It is very much affordable, but the seats are limited so the competition is tough.
The campus life is overall good.
I love my college and the experience. I highly recommend this college.
It has big spacious classrooms with Air condition, the campus is huge with big playgrounds which helps. The canteens provide good food at cheap rates. We have OAT from holding cultural events which is huge
The teaching facility is very helpful who is available at every moment of distress, the materials are provided on time and are meticulously explained which helps a lot. Class notes are enough to score good marks.
I am a student studying at the arts faculty, very minimal to no placements takes place here which is a problem because after two years of education you get out of the university with no job and much help university would provide regarding it.
The fees is very minial it costs somewhat like 2K for 4semesters which is pretty low and affordable.
Different recreational activities keep on happening which helps a lot for keeping the mind fresh and many fest happens where famous artists come to perform which is a lot of fun. And you get to meet a lot of like minded people here which helps in developing a community of like minded people.
I had a lovely experience at Jadavpur University, now it feels nothing less than home.
yes.. my college has very good infrastructure for academics. There are sufficient laboratory equipments & study materials for us. Classroom facilities, libraries & sports faculties are very good. All things are well maintained.
Im studying geology honours, Teaching quality is very good & I'm proud to be a part of this University. Curriculams are updated very well & job opportunity is good enough after MSc. Curriculams included recent theories & developments in field.
In MSc, placements opportunities are very good enough. Among 30 students 10-12 students got placed in various oil & mineral exploration companies every years specifically last 2-3 years. Placement processes are easy & pleasant.
good
outstanding
no
Infrastructures are pretty decent. But needs to be kept maintained. Every necessary thing is there in the campus and the professors and administration are ready to listen and onboard any necessary equipments needed.
Professors and peer groups are excellent here. Several students pursue research from Jadavpur University. Every professor has completed their PHDs. In college life most important thing is the peer group and you will find people around you doing wonders and you will also stay motivated.
Placements are pretty great here. For the year 2022 100% students were place from Information Technology department with a mean CTC of 25.51LPA.Placement process is well maintained by the placement cell and coordinators.
Courses here are the cheapest in entire India I guess. All engineering courses are for Rs 11,000 for entire 4 years except for Information Technology. For Information Technology, the fees is Rs 1,20,000 for 4 years.
It's fair. But it really needed to be maintained well . Libraries have limited stocks whereas day by day number of students are increasing and the level of study is growing up gradually. And hostels are not available so easily. It badly needed a rapid solution.
I'm doing MSc in Mathematics here. Faculty teachers are so much helpful as well as friendly. Students can communicate with them very freely. In fact, each and every decision regarding academics are taken after consulting.
Not quite enough according to the number of students. Really students need more placement options from campusing. As there are huge number of students in each and every year, along with several fields.
It's worthy
Awesome
Good
The infrastructure is pretty well. We have mostly all facilities that a top-tier college in todays generation may have, There is Wi-Fi enabled in most parts of the campus and the labs to study in libraries. Overall its pretty good .
The Syllabus of the department is up to date and covers all the necessary subjects that are needed to grow as an IT engineer . The options for open electives also allows to move and grow in areas of our interest .
Placements are one of the best that happen here at JU . This year 3 of the FAANG companies approached and gave offers , those were Apple , Amazon and Google namely . Apart from these a lot of the top companies come here for placements like Salseforce , Samsung , etc .
The cost is pretty less compared to other Colleges for studying ,. There are also scholarships offered and the hostels also don't cost that much compared to others . Apart from IT department other departments fees are pretty less.
The campus life here is quite fun . Over here there is a great amount of junior senior interaction and everyone enjoys being in the campus . There are a lot clubs and here at JU anyone can join any club they wish. The Feshers and the Fests are one of the most awaited events for the students.
Hello, in Jadavpur University some departments conduct their own entrance examinations, which might not be dependent on your HS results. However, JU's cutoffs for Arts and Science subjects mainly range from 480 to 495, and Engineering admission depends on the WBJEE rank, and not on HS results. Hope this helps!
Based on the WBJEE 2024 data, scoring 110 or 105 marks would likely place you in the rank range of approximately 10,001 to 15,000, as per the expected marks vs. rank analysis .
For admission to the Information Technology (IT) department at Jadavpur University, the cutoff ranks are quite competitive.
Hey:)
Thanks for reaching out!
With a WBJEE rank of 22,259 and an SC rank of 1,996 you have a good chance of getting into Jadavpur University if you are a West Bengal domicile. If you are a WB domicile then your SC rank becomes the deciding factor, and based
