CIPET Chennai Facilities

CIPET Chennai facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, a library, a cafeteria, and an auditorium, tool room, CAD/CAM/CAE centre, etc. There are a total 17 classrooms available for theory classes in the campus which are airy and naturally lit. Video conference facility is available in the campus to facilitate remote learning. Students and staff members use the college auditorium to organise various seminars and workshops. Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology facilities include an on-campus medical faccility to assist students with first-aid and minor health difficulties.

Boys Hostel
CIPET Chennai has well-furnished hostels for accommodation of boys. For the convenience of students, the boys hostel has basic facilities such as an entertainment room with a TV, indoor sports facilities, mess etc.
Girls Hostel
CIPET Chennai has girl hostel that offers a comfortable stay to students. The mess present at the girls hostel serves wholesome and nutritious meals to students.
Medical/Hospital
For urgent medical needs of the students and staff members a doctor is available in the campus.
Library
The library of CIPET Chennai has over 16000 papers, including books, monographs, conference proceedings, standards, directories, project reports, films, and other materials. Furthermore, the library has 55 print international and national publications in the subjects of plastics technology, manufacturing engineering, and science and humanities. The digital library comprises 30 terminals and two servers, all of which are connected to a dedicated 100 Mbps internet connection. Reference, reprographic, current awareness, and referral services are all provided by the library.
Sports
At the college, sports facilities are offered. Every year in March, a sports meet is held when students and staff participate in a variety of events such as running, long jump, shot put, and throw ball.
I.T Infrastructure
The campus of CIPET Chennai has modern and robust IT infrastructure for the students.
Cafeteria
There is a modern air-conditioned cafeteria with seating for 250 people.
Auditorium
CIPET Chennai includes an air-conditioned theatre with seating for 250 people. The theatre is equipped with all of the necessary amenities. The site also has an open auditorium with a seating capacity of 1500 people.
Wifi
Wi-Fi is available in some areas of campus, including the hostel, and students are making effective use of the network connectivity for academic purposes.
Laboratories
The college has a laboratory facility for various departments.

How to join cipet B tech plastic technology course after completing diploma course

Hi aspirant,

To enroll in a B.Tech in Plastic Technology course at CIPET after finishing a diploma, you will normally apply through lateral entry .
This indicates that you will be admitted immediately to the second year (3rd semester) of the B.Tech program.
Eligibility often needs a diploma in a suitable engineering stream such as Plastics Technology , Plastics Mould Technology , Mechanical , Chemical , Production , or associated areas with a minimum aggregate percentage .

Application closed for cipet jee for b. Tech

The application for CIPET JEE B.Tech is still open until June 1, 2025. You can apply online on the official CIPET website. The exam will be held on June 8, 2025, and admit cards will be available from June 5. CIPET JEE is needed for admission to B.Tech and diploma courses in CIPET institutes.
