The college is not that good as it earlier used to be it has become hub of nonsense people who think themselves as to be too high which is not at all true ... Faculties not so good except some .. hell infrastructure ... Food is below average
Again except some .. rest is very bad ... The infrastructure and faculty is not that good so not recommended and syllabus is not well defined and maths is near to none .. not making engineers but rather maintaince people who are rot theroy learner
Good till now placements are happening due to passouts but cadets quality is not good so company might stop comming anyday .. rather than relying on legacy .. mangement should take priority in grooming the cadets
The college is 75 years old(upto 2026) and all the building infrastructure and the machines are old in workshop but still running. Here we have academic buildings, Auditorium, assembly Hall, park, temple, mosque, play ground, basketball court, badminton court, swimming pool, and many more things and lot of different types of laboratories
Here there are lot of awesome faculties with good background in research and most of faculties are retired chief engineer and our passouts and we have experienced workshop faculties who have ground level experiences.
If you don't have back in any paper then you will get lot of chances for sitting in placement but if you have any back in any paper you may suffer . Placement rate is very good currently. But due to Iran and US war the job opportunity has affected little bit.

Its expected that being a government college, its infrastructure would always be weaker than a private college. But, here its far worse than expected. Hostels have not been renovated for a long time; floods occur, water rushes into the rooms. Stray dogs roam around. Gym equipments are broken and despite continuous efforts, no steps had been taken. Living conditions are poor. However, classrooms are good and recently equipped with smart boards. The academic building is well maintained.
There are few passionate faculties who help us 24×7 and make us fall in love with the subject matter. Doing Marine Engineering is often times being a Jack of all trades and henceforth a large subject curriculum gets covered in a span of 4 years. Yes, few faculties might be there who fail to make us understand the subject matter; but overall its decent.
The only thing which is best about this college is placements; and that is why most students join here. Boasting above 95% placement legacy since past few years, to this day it holds its legacy. Provided, one has not failed in any subject across 4 years, it might be expected that he will graduate with a job in hand.
11lakhs for a government college is too much at the first place. Thereafter the facilities we get are very bad. We suffer to get the basic amenities such as water and quality of hostel food sucks.
Situated across 33 acres, there's not much which one can explore. Sports are the only extra curricular thing which one takes to keep them occupied. Campus life is decent overall.
If you want surity of job in a good world class company; then join this college since till date its the best government marine engineering college all over India and the strong alumni network helps a lot in various stages in life later. The academics is very good with officer faculties and also it has a very big marine workshop which has all necessary marine equipments and machineries. The ratio of students and instructors is also very balanced.
The placements stands out ! The alumini network is really good which helps in word of mouth to bring the companies and also the placement cell is very vigilant and active . The cadets are trained well for placements.
While the infrastructure might feel lacking sometimes it's fulfilled by placements and the academics. Which makes it a great value for money course . Also the focus on cadet's overall development makes it a good choice.
You learn a lot of things during your course like time management , discipline which shapes you into a good seafarer and the campus life and helping seniors promote it a lot. So the campus life is good.
Contains Asia's largest marine engineering workshop, has a vast campus, contains large football field, an Olympic size swimming pool, has volleyball and basketball courts as well. Not only that, there are well established labs for various practical subjects such as simulations, electronics and material testing as well.
Vast knowledge can be gained about various machineries and working systems onboard a ship in workshop as well as simulator labs. Subjects are all related to course and teachers are great at teaching particular subjects.
High percentage of placement and various companies approach the campus for placements. College faculties are very supportive and helpful greatly to ensure every cadet gets placed. Overall it is easy to get placed if one is hardworking.
