Overall our campus Indian Maritime University Kolkata Campus is very good and one of the best campus in india for marine engineering. Simulator Lab and workshop are also well facilated. Playground of all sports are also there

Academic syllabus is too hard in marine engineering syllabus. After 12th passing with 65% PCM marks, we are eligible to the admission of our college. All types of faculties are very helpful and very knowledgeable

Placement is at about 90% in our college. In the whole india, our college is best placement record in marine engineering. Many types of foreign companies are now recruiting in our college. So overall placement is overall good

Overall good campus

I will not say that there are everything or nothing , but in between there are many thing University are doing well like improving modern class room facility like projector , interactive LCD screen, AC and many more , specially daily cleaning of the classrooms which is the one of the most good thing that i will appreciate , BUT despite of being very old campus like around 1950s , some facilities are should be maintained , which are not being properly done beacuse swimming pool like this type (olympic grade ) and auditorium , gymnasium were concedered as a advanced campus on its own time (1950s) and these should be sustain, swimming pool water gets dirtier frequently , gymnasium is half broken , some of many important lab equipments are not there including workshop machinery

Academics was good till 2022 batch , now students are good but if somebody ask me then i will say academics of the university are not that good , but yes students are good , they are actually improving their result . And about the faculty , i think as it it a marine collage majority should be marine faculty ( like who has sailed at least 20 years) not normal faculty , beacuse as i have mentioned before standard of university is not very standard as it supposed to be . Beacuse a marine faculty will properly understand which part of the syllabus should be we study and which one we should not, and this will help us to reduce study load . B-tech in Marine engineer is not a subject to study this much , this is a business to increase this much of load , There are lot of courses u have to do after completing B-tech , an as per my opinion there are lot of unecessery subject like CFD , Heat transfer , Machine design python etc , But our marine faculties are very good .

between 80 to 90 percent , not that much beacuse last year it was 99% this time 88% . I will say if u admitted in this collage dont depend on this collage if u r not too studius, do it your for own . There are no gurentee your grade are goof means u will get placed . everybody will say that everyone will get placed beacuse u only listen to them who got placed . It is not that your scope is too low , dont be demotivate if u really work hard u will get place defenetly . 100% placement including off campu. MSC ,Pasific Basin , Swan defence, Wilhelmson , IOCL,NYK etc companies comes

In our time we had paid 9 lakh for 4 yrs, and our juniors are paying 11 lakhs , on that basics the campus is not value for money.

Hostels are not good ,except New junior hostel . Water supply doesn't come frequently . Water get logged in a little rain , mess food is the worst thing that i have experienced . Dur to flooding one worker got died due to electric shock , .If you complain about food and all of these stuffs , nobody cares, nothing will gonna happen

Beacuse there are nothing to be get enthuistic about , legacy has died . But i promise u will get very good friends here and very good chai like bansi vaiya, raju , bro's chai.

Indian Maritime University is one of best campus in India for marine engineering. All the facilities of campus like large workshop good lab and well developed classroom,along with swimming pool available

Studying mechanical engineering and marine pollution and safety of life at sea for marine engineering satisfactory quality of teaching what we study makes us job ready at a theoretical level and the current syllabus is pretty up to date

placements are almost always above 95 percent and the the lowest in the recent years is 91 percent. This is only accounting for the placements arranged by campus and the unplaced ones are either not interested in sailing or having arrears

Great college with Reputed companies still visiting the campus for placement even when the industry is slow nowadays. Also things like swimming pool is DG shipping approved . Nevertheless the workshop is good enough for sharpening your skills.

Academics is okish because except few all non Marine faculties are not reluctant enough to take regular classes and few of them rarely take classes. But the marine faculties on the other hand will share their own unique experience and expertise and will prepare you for the industry.

You will get placed if the conditions stabilises as this college has the record of maintaining 90%+ placement rate each year at minimum. Last few batches during the time I took admission in 1st year had pretty good placement record , almost 250+/280 get placed every year.

Some infrastructure needs maintenance, and fooding might cause some pain but other than that it does well for a government institute.

Not much fun but you have to find it along the way through various activities.

My experience was a bit on the average side , I was part of various clubs and activities , did enjoy my take of college life and had fun.

Indian Maritime university kolkata campus is too good in infrastructure. It has its own workshop and A.C classroom and wonderful lab facilities.All the laboratory and hostel facility is too good. All types of playground are available in our campus

All the faculty members are very helpful to students. Now I am studying B.Tech Marine engineering in final year. I got a lot of knowledge about the machinary from our faculty members. The whole course is truly tough and we have very lengthy syllabus

Placement in our campus is one of the best in the whole india in case of marine engineering. At about 90% of our batch gets placement. Normally foreign companies are the main recruiters in our campus placement. Basic criteria and all clear students are eligible for placement

Our total course fee is 11 lakhs. It is 2.75 lakhs per year and moderate worth it

Campus and hostel Life is good and enjoyable

The overall infrastructure of Indian Maritime University Kolkata Campus is quiet good , covering 33 acres of land. It has a strong maritime-focused infrastructure with well-equipped laboratories, simulators , workshops, hostel, sports facilities ,gym and a swimming pool that support hand on training and hands-on overall student development; however, some academic blocks and hostels are old and need renovation, and facilities like Wi-Fi, mess, and general maintenance can be inconsistent, making the campus good for practical learning but with room for improvement in residential comfort and upkeep.

Studying B. Tech Marine Engineering. Quality of the teaching is very good. Faculty members are very good. To the point and all are knowledgebale. They always try to put the practical format and the best they can give.
