The college has all the infrastructure and facilities that are required for the students. The classrooms are equipped with Projectors. The college has a wi-fi facility. The library has a lot of books and journals which is accessible to the students.
I was doing my MBA from this college. My specialisation was in Marketing and HR. The teaching staff are very helpful and coordinate well with the students. They follow the latest curriculum and we also gained insights on real-life case studies.
The placement offered by the college is average. They offer average placement opportunities. for the students. Mostly, the package offered at this college ranges from about Rs 5-6 LPA. The faculties help the students in getting placed.
The total fee structure for my MBA course was Rs 6 Lakhs. And I think it was worth it as they offered the appropriate facilities that were required for the curriculum. We attended various seminars, and workshops which were organised by the college. For these reasons, I believe it was a great value for money.
The campus was good and most importantly it was very well-maintained. However, the campus is not very big. There is no playground or area for recreational activities. But, there is a cafeteria which is spacious.
The classes have AC and the learning is via e learning using projectors, organises prohects and extra curriculum on a frequen8 basis, connets with great motivational speakers and higehr achievers persons.
Faculty staff are great which leads to good knowledge gaining power. The syllabus contains the latest technol which the industri5 rules and help you groom with major tech stacks as well as personal development.
It ensures a better placement for all students with alot of good comapnies and a well packages is offered. Moreover a ppacement of 95-98% iis guaranteed and helps you groom in aptitude and verbals knowledge
Good campus life, will give a little bit feel of school
It's good ,but be sure that you want to build career in Sales and marketing domain. Because more no. of companies come to hire for Sales domain.A little bit for finance and very less for HR and Business Analytics.
All teachers are qualified enough and have good knowledge about there domain. Make sure that you should enroll in the college activities, which will further help you to boost confidence and finally help you in the interviews.
College is there besides you in terms of placement, they will help you but make sure you are ready to build your career in Sales . Many no. of companies come for sales and marketing then Finance , followed by less no . of HR and Business analytics. Companies come with salary packages of 3 to 14 LPA .
In terms of infrastructure our college is quite good. All difference types of lans are available and those students who want to do research activities have a separate dedicated lab only for such activities. Only sports ground is not present.
In terms of academics too, IEM is the best private college in west bengal. Further, students are always kept under some sort of exam pressure and project pressure so that in future they may cope up with the job requirements and pressure .
Placements have a very good record when we talk of iem. There are mass recruiters as well as good companies giving good CTC to students. Companies start coming by approximately the 6-7th semester and recruite students.
Ok...so first things first, the college has no sports ground whatsoever. Hence as can be understood it might be little discontentment for the students. However, the lack of sports facilities and sports grounds are somewhat compensated by mane labs, 4 basketball courts a game room and a gym.
There is a lot of peer pressure on students due to the fact that midsems are conducted twice. All the internal exams and semester exams are of 100 marks each. However, the professors are very good and helping
Placements of iem are good to be honest when compared to that of other private colleges. Further, there are mass recruiters as well as companies like Google and Microsoft coming in. So placements according to me and as I hear is quite good in IEM
I was a lateral student and got admitted in 2nd year only. As far as I heard from my friends, there are no sports facilities that are available. However, the rest of the infrastructure such as the labs and the corridor seem fine
Professors are very nice and educated as mtechs and phds mostly from iits and iisc and iisers. They are also helpful in many regard and caring too (some of them). Otherwise, midsems are conducted twice in each semester of 30 marks.
IEM boasts of 100 percent placement. However, 100 percent placement in reality isn't possible. But the college does provide placement preparation facilities like aptitude training from second year itself. Hence the placement, if not 100 percent, is relatively good amongst private colleges.
Sports ground is not in the campus. Also the classrooms aren't too clean . However they aren't too dirty either. There are labs and auditoriums and there is one separate lab for extra curriculum research works
From academics point of view , iem has the best academic record as well as othere good technical records amongst private colleges in west bengal. The midsems are conducted twice for each semester and one semester of 100 marks.
Placements as of 2023 stand good. TCS, ACCENTURE and Cognizant fall amongst the mass recruiters. Also, oracle and ey visit the college every year for recruiting meritorious students. Iem has had a good placement record over the years.
Infrastructure is good but problem is there is no playground and also there is absence of space In the campus. However, the classes are neat and clean and the corridors and auditorium are also clean.
Academic achievement goes on increasing year by year. The professors are mostly graduates from the IITs and have done their MTechs PHds from premium Institutions as well. The prodessors are quite helpful too.
From the placements point of view there are good points to be noted. Companies like Oracle, TCS, Infosys and Cognizant come regularly. Google, Microsoft also hire. Last year, 27 lakhs was the highest on campus placement
Infrastructure is not very good nor very bad. This is because the sports amenities are not as such. However the classes and the campus is somewhat clean and hence I give 3 stars. Auditorium is also present.
In terms of academics our college remains the standout amongst the private colleges of west bengal. Also the professors are very qualified and quite helping. There is always some kind of pressure of studying due to exams.
In terms of placements also, iem remains standout in the colleges in west bengal. Google, Microsoft and Amazon have visited our college earlier and the last year also. Other regular companies in placement drive are TCS, cognizant, Qualcomm, oracle, etc.
College infrastructure is not bad. Infact it is very good to be honest. Except for the fact that the campus is too small. Sports ground is very far and not in the campus. However, there are games rooms where students can go and play games.
Academics wise, the college is very good. It has highly qualified professors and most of them are very helpful. Each student has a designated mentor from 2nd year onwards who help them in their projects and research till the 4th year.
The placements of iem as a private college in West Bengal is very good as it has a very good history and record of placements. The most famous companies that come are TCS, Oracle, Microsoft, Google and Deloitte
Yes. If a student:
Does not meet attendance requirements ,
Performs poorly in internal/external assessments,
Fails to keep up with the heavy academic load ,
then they can fail or be barred from continuing. So far, while there's no exact failure percentage, student reviews highlight that failure is possible , especially for those who treat the course lightly.
Dear Ritham
Based on your information it seems challenging to secure admission to IEM Salt Lake with a JEE Main rank of 48177 in the OBC-NCL category for CSE or CSE specialization. Cutoffs for top institutions can be quite competitive, and it's important to check the specific cutoff ranks for the desired course and category.
Would you like help exploring other options or institutions that might be a good fit for your rank using College predictor
Thanks.
