Hi, we cannot predict the minimum score this year as the pattern of the exam has been changed completely this year. Earlier there was no negative marking and +1 marks were awarded for each correct answer whereas this year there was a negative marking of -1 for each wrong answer. So I would suggest you to wait for the official announcement of the result. The result is expected to be announced by the first week of May. If you want any other information about the Manipal entrance test you can check out the following link-

Hello Prakhar,

For the Main campus, CSE has the highest cutoff with the last seat going at around AIR 2700–2800.

As the marks are relative every year, it's hard to pinpoint an exact score but something along the lines of 135–140 should be enough in my opinion. Your rank will be decided by a number of other factors like availability of seats, a number of applicants to name a few, apart from your performance in the exam (i.e. in each section of MU OET). So one can't exactly predict ranks based on MU OET marks as the marks will be normalized by the university while calculating ranks. So, according to your marks yes you have a great chance of getting CSE in MIT Manipal.

However, Manipal allows three attempts for MU-OET out of which best one will be taken into final consideration, so even if you didn’t perform well in the first attempt, you will still have two chances for improvements.

Good luck!

Hello Aspirant,

First of all congratulations for scoring very good marks in MET.

According to previous year data, you can get rank near about 15000 to 20000.

MU OET is a university-level exam conducted by Manipal University annually for admitting candidates to various UG and PG degree programs. The exam is scheduled from April 19 – 28, 2019. It will be conducted in three slots a day in online mode only. Also known as MET 2019.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (formerly Manipal University) will conduct the MET 2019 from April 19 to 28 across various test centers.

Candidates were provided with the slot booking facility from April 5 till April 9. The last date to fill MET 2019 application form was April 8. The exam conducting authorities will conduct MET 2019 on complete online mode from April 19 to 28. MET 2019 (1st and 2nd attempt) will be held in 85 Indian cities and Dubai.

Only two attempts will be conducted from this year. Admissions to Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal; Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, Sikkim and Manipal University, Jaipur will be through MET 2019. Candidates who have secured at least 50% marks in their Class 12th can apply for MET.

The result of MET 2019 will be announced probably in the first week of May.

The minimum rank required to get admission is the cutoff of MET 2019. Candidates who will not meet MU OET 2019 cutoff will have fewer chances of admission in comparison to those who have ranks more than or equivalent to cutoff.

The authorities of Manipal will prepare and release MET cutoff 2019 considering certain influential factors. However, it is to be noted that the cutoff of MET 2019 will be released with opening and closing ranks and for different categories, institutes and B.Tech programmes as offered through MET entrance exam.

All the best!

Hi Vijay,

Looking at the previous year records regarding fees, placement, college life and various other factors for Computer Science, I would suggest you to go for BITS Goa.

Let us look at some of the reason for BITS Goa-

Well, BITS Pilani Goa is that magnificent in terms of great Campus life, an amazing environment and a very very good institute.

It's not considered better as Top 5 IITs and BITS Pilani Pilani campus. But, that’s when Package and Campus age comes into action.

  • The BITS system :
    • O% attendance.
    • No reservation.
    • Open Electives Courses: you can do courses of any branch.
    • You can go for Reverse dual in Phy, Chem, Maths, Eco or Bio.

Hello Samarth,

Manipal University conducts an online entrance test every year to get into Manipal Academy of Higher Education. This test is called as MET (MANIPAL ENTRANCE TEST).

To get a good rank in MET, you must target a score above 140 marks.

Manipal University conducts various entrance exams but For B.Tech aspirants especially, the syllabus is as follows :

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English and general aptitude

MET EXAM Pattern :

  • The entrance examination is a computer based exam.
  • The test duration is of 2.5 hours.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • There are 200 questions in total.
  • The subject wise distribution of questions alloted is as follows :

1. Mathematics : 70 questions

2. Physics : 50 questions

3. Chemistry : 50 questions

4. English and general aptitude  : 30 questions

Tips to Score good :

  • Since there is no negative marking in the entrance exam, you can intelligently guess some questions and gain a pretty good score.
  • As you are getting 150 minutes only to solve 200 questions, you must have a really good speed and accuracy.
  • Firstly, Attempt those questions which you are familiar with. So that you don't get stressed in the starting of the exam.
  • As mathematics section is the most toughest one and carrying a good marks, you can follow tricks for scoring good in maths particularly :

1. Refer A Dasgupta, solve its examples and solved problems at least.

2. Do calculus and coordinate geometry thoroughly. This topic covers most of the questions.

3. You can also use Arihant handbook.

  • For Physics, apart from studying NCERT, practice questions from HC Verma. This will be very helpful to you.
  • For Chemistry, go through the NCERT Book as it covers a good theory part.
  • You can also solve past year papers and attempt mock tests as much as possible. You may refer to the following book :

1. Solved Papers and 5 Mock Tests for Manipal UGET (MAHE) Engineering by Arihant.

  • You should solve at least 30 MCQs of each subject from these daily to have a good time management and speed accuracy.
  • NCERTs are a must for all subjects. So it's my kind request to you to go through the NCERT Books instead of referring to so many reference books.
  • Remember to study English and General Aptitude also to easily score 30 marks. Students don't study English as most of them find it easy, but it's not such. Please go through the Grammer and comprehensive part well.

Hope this helps!!

Good Luck :)

College Infrastructure: 4.4/5

Good facilities, decent placements, slightly high fees.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

I’m currently pursuing Information Technology at Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), and my experience so far has been decent, though not without its challenges. The infrastructure here is solid—labs, classrooms, and the library are well-maintained, and the Wi-Fi is reliable most of the time. There’s scope for improvement in some of the lab equipment, but overall, it’s above average.

College Infrastructure

The college infrastructure is impressive, offering a blend of modern facilities and well-maintained amenities. Spacious classrooms equipped with smart boards and high-speed internet create an environment conducive to learning. However, some areas could benefit from better upkeep, especially outdoor seating and parking spaces.

Great infrastructure, academics, and placement support.

College Infrastructure

The campus is clean and green, with good Wi-Fi, sports areas, and comfortable hostels. It provides everything students need to study and live well.It could use a little work for getting Ac in workshops.
