As you are also asking about branch. But you should choose your branch according to your interest not according to Placement of Colleges. As both Colleges are good in terms of placement and academics. So you should your college according to your branch you want to take admission. You can take admission in college. Both are niec College.

CSE IN NITTE MEENAKSHI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY Placements: Placements in this college are good. Around 86% of the students were placed from CSE branch, last year. Companies like Nutanix, Microsoft, M-SIGMA, VIPRIT and Infosys visit the college to offer placements every year. Companies offer good packages like 16 LPA, 18 LPA, 14 LPA and 9 LPA. The average package offered to the CSE students is 6.5 LPA. Overall, the placements are as expected.

ECE IN MVIT:. Placements : Placements are amazing as almost all the students get placed on campus. There are high placement chances for CS, IT, EC and mechanical branches, but are less for civil. The highest package offered was 31 LPA, last year. Some reputed companies visited  college offering the package around 30 LPA and 16 LPA. Almost 90% of the students get placed.

I suggest you to prefer Dayanad Sagar college of engineering over NMIT. It is well recognised college and has a rating of 4.0/5. The infrastructure is one of the best in Banglore. The labs,classrooms are maintained very well. The placements are good and have improved from last year for EEE department. Many top companies visit the campus with high packages. All the best

As the hostel allotment process at any institute is computed just one day before the start of the college so in my opinion it will be better for you to communicate with the college directly because they will be the best source for you to let you know the information So contact with the college and they will provide you the most appropriate information about the details you want.

I can provide you the KCET 2017 and KCET 2018 cutoff ranks of NMIT, Bangalore for the CSE branch.

These were GM cutoffs, so you can get an idea of your selection.

KCET 2017, after Round 2-

Cutoff Rank- 5,331

KCET 2018, after Round 2 Extended Allotment-

Cutoff Rank- 9,471

Unfortunately, you need a rank below 10,000 in order to get a seat in the CS Computers branch.

Bmsit has got excellent placement.the pupil who are eligible for placement do get placed with a good package. More than 30 companies visit our college and get students into their companies.the college also provides placement training activities which focuses and teaches on how to attend placements and how to behave.
The placements scenario has been increasing since 2015. The total percentage of the students getting placed is seventy to seventy five percent. The companies that visit our college is ABB, BOSCH, Dell, Honey Well, Reliance, Cognizant etc

Well, basing upon your rank, it seems difficult for you to get ECE in nmit in the second round of counseling as per the previous year trends and remarks. But still you can give it a try at the time of counseling and it's better to apply for colleges in your own home state so that the chances of getting admission are high. And you may also get some other upgradation if possible in the successive rounds of counselling.
