Hello, both are good colleges and since, you have mentioned your two options.
In my opinion Nit Patna is a good choice as it is a Nit and a highly reputed college.
Placements are good and you will have good opportunity for placements and higher studies.

If you are interested in computer science engineering then you can go with RV college.
It's depends on your interest and for which branch you will do better.

Hello dear student,

If you have these two option then I will suggest you to definitely go for NIT Patna for your bachelors in computer science. Studying from NIT and IIT puts an extra feather in your cap and the placement rate is also great in these colleges with respect to the other colleges of engineering

Thank you

Hey Abhishek,

COMEDK cutoff depends upon level of difficulty of the exam, cutoff trends of previous years, total number of candidates who applied for the exam and availability of seats in the participating institutes. Based on previous year's cutoff trends, it seems difficult to get a seat for CSE in RVCE, since the cutoff was around 417 rank. Though if you had Hyderabad-Karnataka reservation, then the cutoff was around 2529. But it seems like you may have a chance at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore for CSE, which is another top engineering college in the region.

For detailed information on your chances of admission based on your COMEDK score, check out the COMEDK 2020 College Predictor: https://engineering.careers360.com/comedk-college-predictor

Hello student. Despite of the fact that RVITM is a newly established college, it is performing extremely well in terms of placements.

Needless to say that RVCE is the best college for placements, RVITM is also the better perfoming colleges in terms of placements.

Here are the other factors to consider that college:

Infrastructure and college life:

RVITM have a wonderful infrastructure with well equipped labs and classrooms. Hostels are pretty decent and nice environment is always maintained. You can see that the campus life is going to be really well. College life is good with the right kind of atmosphere given to the students who come from different places.

F aculty and quality of education:

All the faculties are well qualified and experienced over here. And education, curriculum is made in such a way that students are made to acquire more hands on knowledge than just the theory. It is not just the books and classes. Focuses more on practical knowledge than the theoretical one. Education quality and the way guidance is given is really good.

Placements:

Placements are really good as many good companies visit this college. Most of the students gets placed and opportunities of internship is provided to the students from wide range of companies.

According to our website, both of them are very good rated ones.

Hello dear , Yes Civil engineering at RV college of engineering is very good . RV is the one of the best engineering college in south india . : Placements in this  college are too good for technical branches like CSE, ECE, EEE, etc. The college has almost 100% placement record. But for the civil engineering department, placements are average as students opt for higher studies rather than placements. Civil Engineering department of RVCE has been the traditional recruitment destination for many organizations. Various companies such as L&T, TCE, Shobha Developers, Brigade Group, Maytas Infra, Shapoorji Pallonji constructions, ATKINS etc have recruited students.

Hope this helps !!

Hello there

The fees for the B.Tech through COMEDK is 1.4lakhs, per year, only for hostel fees, and additionally, if you add up the hostel charges as well, it will be approximately 3.5-4.0 lakhs per year, for students outside kerala as well. The fees are a little less through KCET.

Hope this helps you. Good luck!

hello deva,

The opportunity for a branch change depends majorly on two factors- your CGPA for the first two semesters and the branch you want to change to.The competition is gonna be cut-throat and the cutoffs are gonna be rocketing. the competition will be tough for the CSE and IT branches and will be bit easy for the other branches

That being said, it's not impossible altogether.

hope that helps

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

When I graduated, the ECE building was falling apart. The library was understocked as well. I see they've made improvements recently so its better now. The Wifi was unreliable and the gym was subpar. The labs were well stocked though. The food used to be good in my first year but declined along the way.
