I am studying btech CSE 1st year you have good academics here, the way they teach, the class rooms are good and you also have projectors and mostly the faculty use board and thy explainbin an detail way
You will get many companies for interview and vit is one of the best college for placements the highest package according to my knowledge is 15-20lakhs per annum and it came for computer science our college is supportive
The fees structure is based on your viteee rank if you get good rank you can get less fees if your rank is high the fees will be high, but joining here is value for money because of the faculty, exposure
The campus is very good and it is surrounded with greenery, you have ground you have bank and atm you have an health center,it is far from city but good and big campus, you can have good exposure the faculty is good and supportive
Good infrastructure with nice lab facilities, improvised lab equipments and clean atmosphere. All the labs are well - maintained and are taken care off. We can de re lab sessions if we miss any lab ckass
We can xhoose our faculty and it depends on your faculty on how they teach. Soem teach really well but some are lethargic but if the student is competent, then they can manage the academics part of it .
There are different packages regarding the placements in this particular university. Many companies and MNC s come forward to offer job....students have to maintain a good cgpa in total to get placed in better salried companied
Tjere is good value for money. But sometimes i feel this college is a money digger............. And then sometimes i feel it is worth it......it just deoends on your ouwn perspective of seeing the college
The campis life is really really awesome...we have a really big, green and spacious campus.......it gives u relaxation.........there are other amenities like swimming pool, gym, food court and ither facilities
it is a really nice college....it is only about how you use the opportunities and utilise it to the fullest of your benefit...........i hope this information will be useful...pls refer to the website for contacts
The are a lot of facilities in the classrooms and hostel. The overall infrastructure of the campus makes us feel fresh and facilities like gym, and other sports facilities are very useful. The hostel food is quite better as compared to other universities.
Currently i am pursuing fashion technology course. The overall curriculum has equal amount of technical as well designing aspect which makes it easier to underatand our interests. The elective method of academics helps us to do courses of our own interests.
Currently it is the first year of placement for the branch. Since many of the students in this course are planning to go for higher studies. The placements are otherwise good for all the pther branches.
The facilities and quality of teaching is worth the money. Frequent industrial visits and guest lectures make it more interesting and worth studying.
I absolutely love the college campus because of its various sports facilities and even the greenery around. The location is good for nearby emergency situations and other requirements.
The college has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Classrooms are spacious and equipped with smart boards and conventional boards. Living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic.
We are having a CAL setup for BTech. CAL means Continuous Assessment Learning. The curriculum is updated at regular intervals to include recent developments. The project, lab and research oriented learning opportunities provide a holistic growth and makes one job-ready.
The quality of placements is great. Almost all the students who apply for placements are getting placed. Highest salary package in 2020 was 36 lpa for ECM batch. Placement process is easy, pleasant and highly supportive.
We are indeed getting our money's worth in VIT Chennai. It provides us a great deal of exposure ranging from classes, seminars, webinars, guest lectures, industrial visits, company visits, holding technical symposiums, to working in car teams, etc.
VIT Chennai is a luscious green campus. We have green buildings which lowers CO2 emission. The campus life is great with many small eateries within campus. The faculty and staff are very much approachable. VIT Chennai campus is situated on the Vandalur-kelambakkam road. We are well equipped to handle emergencies.
It is a great college with great people. One would surely not regret being a VITian.
VIT has high class infrastructure in terms of laboratories, library and hostels. They are very well maintained too. We have very good Sports Grounds as well. Hostels serve hygiene food across all the hostels.
The academics here are very challenging and innovative. We follow Project based Learning. Projects we do here help us to get all the fundamentals right and some projects will take shape to startups as well
VIT has its own records when it comes to placements. VIT has a dedicated Placements and Training Cell (PAT) which ensures smooth process in placements. Large number of companies across all domains visit the campus. Packages also sound very good. The average package for a student is quite good too.
Fee structure has to be referred to VIT website to know the latest details. If a student is eager to learn and study, Each rupee we spend is totally worth
Campus has cafeteria, Swimming pool and Gym facilities. There are playgrounds for boys and girls. Teachers are also supportive. It takes an 1 - 1.5 hrs from Chennai CMBT Bus Stand or the Central Railway station by public transport. VIT is located near Vandalur - Kelambakkam Road. Campus has in and out times for students and is well secured.
I would suggest you to opt for it for a wonderful journey. Once a VITIAN always a VITIAN :)
Campus is really ambient except for the construction site at girls hostel. All the labs are equipped well. It would really matter if you were in Civil, EEEor mechanical because you will be spending a lot of time over there. Coming to CS labs i love them because unlike our labs they are fully air-conditioned. Hostels according to my opinion are better than most other colleges. 3 hostels: 15 floors each for boys and girls, 1 MBA block, one 3 floored library (best features of the campus).
The academics departments has lot of good facilities available in terms of labs especially for Civil, mechanical and EEE branch. I see you are interested in CSE branch, so u just need systems and Software installed. Don’t worry you won’t face a problem with this. But mechanical and civil guys, beware of all the lab permission you have to take before using the machine for your personal research and projects.
In 2018-19 alone, VIT has brought more than 600 companies on campus for placements. Last year, the highest offer made was 39 lakhs per year by Microsoft. Over the recent years, many reputed companies such as Intel, Ebay, Amazon, Dell, GE, Texas Instruments, Schneider Electric, DE Shaw & Co, Hitachi, HP, PayPal, Tata Motors, L&T, Dr. Reddy's, Bosch, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Qualcomm, Ashok Leyland, Honda, Ford, Global Analytics, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro and InfoSys have hired from VIT.
I got Civil in Category 1, which cost me the least. There are 5 categories, depending on the seats available. They say it is dependent on rank, but I remember my friend getting 90,000+ rank in VITEEE getting Mechanical in Category 2. Rs. 1,76,000 is what is my tuition fees + hostel + mess fees.
It's quite hectic to be frank. And NO RAGGING. Seniors are the second best friends you could step into for anything and everything. Everyone is very helping in nature. So feel free to talk and get help from them.
Vit is a college with good infrastructure , average academics , average placements and average value for money. It's overall a good college to join and study. Compared to many other colleges it's a good place.

->It has basic necessities, like health center, food hubs, gym, super market, photocopy etc., -> Classrooms are not fitted with AC's, but there are benches ,projector, board. There is (civil engineering )Surveying lab,Geology Software, environmental Engineering lab, Engineering Drawing lab ,concrete lab etc., that are equipped well with all the necessities. There is a centralised library .Hostels are separate for Girls and boys.
-> Iam studying Civil Engineering and this is my area of interest. ->Quality of teaching is better and it is more like we have to learn ourself for all the recent applications. -> Job is something that is completely based on luck and our special skills.
-> There are good placements and nice salary package offers.Highest salary package was 41.6 lpa ,around 90% of students were placed. -> Average package was 7.3 lpa and nearly 700 companies visited VIT.
->Cost per year varies with the type of course.
-> As of now, it's good and there is more development happening. -> There are many clubs and activities to be engaged ->It's totally safe.
-> I suggest that this college can give us what we want.
Coming to infrastructure, three hostel blocks(one fr girls, two for boys),only cse labs will have A/Cs,library of three storeys?,well equipped laboratories, have many sports clubs, smart classes for almost every branch,.though campus is small when compared to that of vellore one but u can feel that pleasant atmosphere with limited crowd, fun activities, clib events, ambience of campus is really good hygienic and peacefull..new constructed 'Gymkhana'(which has gym, dominos, family restaurant, chai galli..
currently iam pursuing my btech 1st yr civil....yes my academics include all recent developments in field...u can also grab enough skill nd knowledge from what ever u choose through its fully flexible credit system...appropriate place to chase ur passion!
.............you can see iam still 1st yr,dont have enough knowledge about this,as i didnt come through this yet!..mostly think that civil people will have tough pase to get placed but i saw many of my seniors got placed who are from civil branch......some of them in core and some of them in software sectors
yes only if u use every opportunity correctly with interest and zeal.participating in extra curricular activities is more helpful for ur personality development and peccular identity..then u can embrace actual flavour of ur academics
what ever the rules it has iam very happy with them though sometimes annoyed!..outing from mon-fri with simple outing card(sat nd sun u need parents approval!),in time for everyone is 6:00 PM,hostel intime 7:00PM for girls and 9:00 PM for boys. boys and girls can roam, chit chat, play but are not allowed to exceed limits...which i feel kind of fair! ...most important thing NO RAGGING ..we can have very friendly relations with seniors too academically!
You can get every kind of facilities. Mess food is not that good but you will like it. For rooms, 2 bed and 4 bed are spacious and 3 bed is little conjusted. Wifi is good, you will get 50 gb per month and speed is 450 kbps constant. In library you will get every kind of research papers and articles.
I don't know about other branches but CIVIL branch is better than I expected. Civil teachers are good in there subjects. You will find every teacher interesting. All teachers are well aware of recent developments.
I still don't know much about placement offers. But according to some of the senior students, they say placements are good for those who have good cgpa like above 9.0. In civil the highest placement offer of batch 2016-2019 was 11 lakhs.
Hello,
If I had to choose between these options, I would personally go with:
IIIT Dharwad CSE
VIT Chennai CSE (Category 2)
SNU Chennai CSE (Cyber Security)
IIIT Dharwad is a good choice if you're focused on coding, software roles, and long-term career growth. The IIITs are known for their
