Dear aspirant,

The dynamics of wbjee has been changed a lot because jadavpur University has done 90% domicile criteria for its state students. So this is reason why wbjee is given by lesser number of candidates from now onwards.

Because of this 90% criteria , mainly students from West bengal are appearing for wbjee and other state candidates are not appearing. Last year in 2020 the total students appeared was 82k. It is almost half the number of the students in 2019.

So for jadavpur University a score 110-115 is enough for now.

Dear Candidate,

WBJEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam is an exam held specifically for those candidates seeking admission in west Bengal colleges.

For preparing the WBJEE all you need to do is Study regularly. But for convenience, I've mentioned some key points.

  • Make a fixed timetable.
  • Know about the syllabus and Exam paper pattern
  • Study hard from the first day onwards. You need to understand that being from a different state will have a major impact on selection as Jadavpur University has a home state quota. So, prepare super well.
  • Revise the concept from class 11th subjects. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics daily ave questions and revise the concept daily. You need to solve at least questions from the previous year and do a mock test on alternative days once you prepared enough syllabus. Do class 11 for 3 months straight if you are not preparing for 12 the class boards.
  • After 3 months from today I.e; from November study for the boards and prepare for the WBJEE. Do not forget to solve the previous year's papers.
  • Make some flashcards that will be helpful on last time revision. Mark the questions you were not able to solve so make a fixed time in the whole 24 hours at least solve the questions for 2 hours per day which you were not able to solve.

But remember that the number of seats for different state candidates is very low. So, study properly.

Most important is Health. So, eat healthy food.

Hope you get your answer.

Thank you and good luck:)

Hello,

The cut off for WBJEE 2020 is not yet available. In 2019 the closing rank for Open-PWD category to get admission to Computer Science & Engineering in Jadavpur University was 7396 (WBJEE) in the final round of counselling. Considering the cut off you should be able to secure a rank around 7300 because the cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Hi

Your profile suggests that you are an engineering aspirant. So, I am guessing you ate asking about btech.

This is very difficult to predict as closing rank keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like :-

*number of students that appeared in the exam,

*kind of marks obtained by them ,

*toughness level of the examination wbjee etc.

But yes,

When we go through past year qualifying cut off trends then

In wbjee 2019,  1719 in wbjee was closing rank for general category for getting  into Jadavpur University and it was for Construction Engineering.

You can check the same at

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/wbjee-cutoff

So, you should target getting a rank of around 1700 in wbjee for Jadavpur university.

College Infrastructure: 3.9/5
Academics: 4.3/5
Placements: 4.3/5
Value for Money: 3.4/5
Campus Life: 4.5/5

An honest review of Jadavpur University.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

A bit underwhelming due to inadequate funding. Basic labs found in first year are not upto the mark. However when it comes to equipments, toh would probably all of them except half of them are obsolete from industry pov.

It is going quite good yet.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The Jadavpur University has quite old buildings. But, it has a central library with separate libraries in each department. It has 4-5 canteens at different points in the campus. It also has an Open air theatre, A gym, and a basketball court adjacent to the main ground.

My experience at Jadavpur University was great.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The university still uses alot of buildings that are way too old and they are maintained very rarely. But, few new buildings have been built recently which is a good thing. There is a lack of adequate labs for example in my department (Economics) there is no sufficient facility. There is also lack of ACs in the classrooms.
