Environment and atmosphere is amazing. Full campus is WiFi enabled along with Hostel. Except Swimming all sports are entertained like Basketball, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, etc. Our college has its own Mountaineering Wall and Club.
The faculty is very much helpful and focused on solving doubts of the students. Their Main Motto is to make the student Job ready. Practicals are held along with digital classes. The courses are well updated and completed on time.
Almost all the students gets placement from this college. The highest package is RS.30 lacs per annum with an average of RS.14 lacs per annum. Every year Top Companies like Microsoft, OYO, Amazon, Adobe come for Recruitment. Around 25% of the students gets internship.
Inspite of having low fees from the students, JU provides all the necessary facilities, well equipped classrooms, laboratories. The central library of JU and has plenty of books. The campus is maintained clean and hygienic on daily basis.
I'm currently studying BE Computer science and engineering. On the one hand theoretical part we has awesome faculties who really taught as good and explain all doubts and on the other hand practicals we almost have all facilities so we can do something with real world examples.
JU has the speciality of astonishing placement record. Nearly 93% of students got placed with highest salary package of 56LPA and the average salary package of 12 LPA offered with our course for this year.
Yes our university provides all the necessary facilities . Inspite of having very low fees from the students, JU delivers well equipped classrooms, laboratories. The central library of JU is one of the highlights of this institution having plenty of books on several topics. The campus is also hygiene maintained and cleaned on daily basis. Though some of the washrooms are not so well equipped and some buildings are very old.
I'm currently studying electronics and instrumentation engineering . On the teaching part, I have to say some of them are really really good at teaching. They help us to get a very good grasp to our syllabus. Though I think the syllabus is not to much updated . We still have subjects which has no connection to the course.
That's where the speciality of JU lies, it's astonishing placement record. It is getting more and more percentage of students to get placed year by year. This year almost 93% of students who applied for placements got job offers from various national and multinational companies with a highest offered ctc of 56lpa. Our dept. has an average lpa of 12 lakhs this year. Hands down this is the best govt college in wb for placements. Yeah, our college is very supportive in this area.
The total 4 year BE program costs only 11000 INR . And you are getting so so much in return. (For IT it's 120000 INR) . So ofcourse it's completely worth the money and facilities we get here is also make it value-for-money
Like any other engineering colleges, JU doesn't have a big campus . It's an area where I think JU lags behind a little bit. But the vibe of the campus is so high that after entering into the campus, you will forget the size or whatever and surely enjoy roaming tjrou8the campus.
Our college is too good from all the cases, neatly maintained. The campus is great for study purposes, library and faculty is outstanding. Over all this is the best college I have ever seen. This can make you love the place.
I am studying B.E in electronics and telecommunication engineering and I like this course too much as it has the both opportunity to go in technical line and non technical lines, the professors are also too friendly , the curriculum is most updated.
Placement scenerio is also cool. Over 90% students got their job letter from various companies from Amazon, Google and etc. Package exceeds 10lpa . So it is great to say that jadavpur university has the greatest campusing facilities.
Jadavpur university is such a college where you pay a too cheap amount of money and get a huge profit. As an example, we have to pay only 64 rupees for our semesters.
When one enter in this college he can explore himself through the various workshops, clubs and so much things. The environment is too good and it helps too much for growing one's career.
This is a great College for me.
Jadavpur University is in top 13 college of India according to NIRF ranking. College is having top class education, cultural fest and all necessary facilities and equipment facilities of classroom is excellent and labs are of top level sports ground is there and hostels have well supported Wi-Fi and they are well maintained
When it comes to academics , academics are fully focused and well maintained, teachers are good and style of teaching is nice but the only bad thing is that they communicate best in Bengali if you didn't understand then initially you will face some problem while communicating
When it comes to placement ,it competes with IITs and also above 6 IITs according to NIRF ranking, CSE placement average package is about 20 lpa which competes with IIT Bombay CSE, whereas IT branch average package is about 13 lpa...
this college fees might surprise you only 11000 44 i-think this is the best college with that input
Campus life is good and cultural fest organising regularly some of them are Srijan funche metanoax chembridge..etc
awesome location , in the city of love
Infrastructure is a little above average. Basic facilities are by and large available. Classrooms and hostels are immensely facilitated by WiFi. Environment of the college is good. The laboratories are well furnished with all the equipments. There is no basketball court though.
I am studying Mechanical Engineering here because Physics & mathematics have been my favourite subjects since childhood. The professors are talented and enlighten students enough with the knowledge, although at time I feel the practice is getting old. The curriculum in my department is updated and anyways the concepts are evergreen with time. If you keep with everything going on in the university, you are job ready.
Almost 100% placements in Jadavpur University in pretty much all the branches. Well, there are also several students who pursue higher studies. The package we are offered is like ranging from 7 Lakhs PA to 30 Lakhs PA. Companies like Samsung, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, etc visit our university.
The fees for my department is around 3000 per year. Yes, you read that right. The fees are very low because it is a state University and the government owns it. So, it's quite obvious that we are getting much more than we are paying here.
I am giving two stars for 1 bad reason and its ragging. non-Bengali students face unprecedented problems regarding that and at times it's tough to manage stuffs if you are not smart enough. Else you will enjoy being the part of debating group, clubs, etc. Srijan and Sanskriti are one of the major fest annually.
Go for it but Beware of ragging.
College provides all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipments needed for proper understanding of our course. We have a high-speed WiFi enabled campus and each departmental building has one Library where one can lend books and also avail online research material at ease. The living spaces are generally clean and the food here is extremely good and cheap.
I am pursuing Civil Engineering here. The quality of teaching is unparalleled. The curriculum is upto date and includes all the recent developments in this field. The professors take special care in making us aware of the industrial use of all the topics taught and hence make us instantly job ready candidates.
The placements in Jadavpur University are famous all over West Bengal. Top companies come to our college for placements. Many students get multiple job offers and more or less everyone gets placed. The percentage placed is nearly 85-90 percent each year and the top packages cross 60 lpa. The average package is around 15 lpa. Our college has an extremely student friendly placement cell. In fact a lot of student bodies take part in the placement drives and hence the placements are these good.
The course costs us just 11500 for 4 years! That’s just around 2500 a year! You won’t find any college this cheap with this level of placements. We feel we are getting much much more than the amount we pay for.
The Campus Life is just Awesome! A student can do so much in our college. There are various activities that are organised nearly each and every month! We have a gym totally free for the students! We have mountaineering clubs, art clubs, photography clubs, dance and music clubs and so on! You can even learn foreign languages here : Spanish, French, German, Chinese, etc etc. The teachers are extremely frank and open to students. College is extremely near to AMRI hospital and South City Mall.
Yes, my college has most of the necessary infrastructure and facilities. The departmental library is wonderful and a treasury of many important books but the classrooms are not so tidy. Morover the washrooms of arts building are not hygienic at all.
The teachers are extremely helpful and supportive. The teacher-student relationship here is something the university can boast off. As a student of comparative literature I learned to read a text in a different way and discover the new dimensions of it. I actually have little idea about the career option so it's difficult for me to say if the study makes me job ready or not but all I can say that this study gives me immense joy.
The quality of placement is pretty well and our university is extremely supportive in this regard though I don't know such things in details so I'm unable to answer the questions asked here. All I can say that the students of engineering deoartments get exceptionally wonderful placements.
It cost Rs.1200 per year which is affordable for many students who don't belong to well off familes. Moreover there are facilities of concessions for deserving candidates.
The college campus is a free and liberal space where you can gossip about everything from politics to literature and various art forms. But often students take advantage of this and get intoxicated in the campus. Incidents of sexual harassment also have been reported in the campus.
The infrastructure is good enough. The spaces are clean. There's wifi available. In my subject we really do not need a smart board, it might be there in the departments where it is necessary. There are departmental and central libraries.
I'm studying Comparative literature because I want to know more about literatures of the world, the similarities and dis similarities between them. The quality of teaching is outstanding and the curriculum is updated enough.
As per my knowledge, the quality and percentage of student placements is excellent. The highest salary package possibly went to the department of electronics and electrical engineering this year. Since I'm a second semester student I'm not very much aware.
The course fee per annum along with the admission fee had been something around 1200 Indian rupees. It is offcourse worth, considering the infrastructure, quality of education and knowledge, as well as maintenance.
The location is safe enough, with a police station and a hospital within a kilometer range - so it can handle emergencies. The students, teachers, and the support staff work like a family here in Jadavpur.
Yes,it has all necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. We have well furnished laboratory, fully stacked library, modern sports center, numerous hostels for accommodation and well maintained is available in campus.Digital classroom is available.Living places are clean and food is good.
I am studying Production Engineering. Its a branch of Mechanical engineering.Quality of teachers is average. They focus more on memorising. No curriculum is not updated.Somewhat,we are made job ready and do bag good offers from the companies that do visit us regularly.
Placements are good.Around eighty percent students are placed. Electrical engineering saw highest placement with one crores package. Average placement is around five to seven lpa.Placement process is smooth and pleasant. College is supportive
Its the cheapest in India with just Rs ten thousand for entire course. I feel the programme is justified at this cost.Good placements and infrastructure are the reasons for making it worth.
Good campus life and lush green.Campus donot have restrictions on smoking. Its pretty bad.Students can do lots of work.Fests go around the year. All are supportive.Best location in South Kolkata. Very safe.Yes it can handle emergencies.
Very nice place to have graduation done from.
For OBC-NCL West Bengal candidates seeking Instrumentation & Electronics Engineering at Jadavpur University , the closing rank in WBJEE is around 1,395 .
This usually means you need about 130–145 marks in WBJEE to have a good chance of admission.
Hello Sudip,
A score of 105–110 in WBJEE is good, but to acquire IT at Jadavpur University depends on different factors like:
In the last few years, General category candidates generally needed a rank below 500–700 for IT at JU. You might get a rank between the 800–1200 mark (approx.) with a score of 105–110, which may render CSE or IT hard in the General category but achievable in reserved categories or under TFW quota. Thus, it is not a sure shot, but you have a fair chance depending on your category and cutoff patterns.
Getting into Jadavpur University's Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department with 110 marks in WBJEE is uncertain. Here's what you need to know¹:
- CSE Cutoff: The cutoff for CSE in Jadavpur University was 89 in 2024, based on WBJEE ranks. Since your score is 110, your rank might be higher than the cutoff rank.
- Rank Estimate: To get into Jadavpur University, you typically need a rank under 1500. For popular branches like CSE, Electronics, and Mechanical, aim for a rank under 600-700.
- Score Requirement: Scoring above 120 marks in WBJEE increases your chances of getting into good branches at Jadavpur University. For CSE, marks above 140 often correspond to ranks under 100.
Given the variability in cutoff scores and ranks, it's essential to:
- Check Previous Year Cutoffs: Review the cutoff ranks for CSE at Jadavpur University in previous years to gauge your chances.
- Use WBJEE Rank Predictor: Utilize online tools to estimate your rank based on your WBJEE score.
Keep in mind that admission to Jadavpur University depends on various factors, including:
- Category: Your category (General/SC/ST/OBC/PwD) affects cutoff ranks.
- Number of Seats: Availability of seats for specific courses impacts cutoff scores.
- Exam Difficulty: The difficulty level of the WBJEE exam influences cutoff ranks.
