The biggest problem with majority of the current infrastructure is that it's old, with exceptions. Some of it is under renovation. The walls are preoccupied with political posters which I find very problematic. In some parts of the corridor, smoking is sometimes evident which is a problem not often considered. The living spaces are partly clean, partly not. Cleanliness is definitely an issue in some parts of the campus. The food is good and very hygienic.

I'm studing economics. I'm still in first year so my experience is limited. But from what I've seen so far,the quality of teaching and class regularity is all dependant on the respective teacher. Good teachers teach well, and they are the majority. The curriculum is updated.

Whereas placements aren't at its best, they aren't bad. The average package is around 5-6 lakhs per annum. The highest packages are around 10-13 lakhs per annum. Placements only start after one has completed M. A. The numbers of companies coming for hiring students need to increase.

JU is as close to getting a free college education as one can have. In that sense, it's worth your money even if you don't learn much, but you mostly do. The fees as far as I know is around ₹1200 per semester. That's official, but students hardly pay that.

The campus is mostly clean, partly not. The campus is flooded with canteens, so you never go hungry. People are very friendly and welcoming. There's enough freedom for students, as much as a college campus can provide, sometimes more. Smoking again is a big issue for me. You can smoke anywhere in the campus which I'm in strongly in opposition to. It's a safe campus.

Jadavpur University is one of a kind. Freedom of its students is something it upholds better than most colleges (sometimes more than needed) . The faculty is probably it's strongest asset. The infrastructure is partly old and needs renovation. There's zero ragging. It's a friendly and safe place to carry on your life after school.

Jadavpur University contains all the necessary infrastructure and equipments for students . It has large, spacious and clean classrooms along with labs and smart board, libraries with wide variety of books for the course as well as for out of the box learning . JU has various sports teams headed by the sports board . There are eight hostels for students to accommodate . WiFi is available all over the campus . The infrastructure is well maintained and cleaned with eight canteens in the campus .

I'm pursuing my Bachelor's of Arts in Economics because of the wide scope and requirement in the world . The department has highly qualified professor probably the best in the city with qualifications from renowned universities all over the world . The curriculum is updated by the faculty which concentrate syllabus from various writings and books with projects provided to analyse current scenario in the economy. The course is mostly job oriented with programming learning in Stata and R .

There are not much placements in the department as most of them try to go for further studies in the field . Placements are given only after Masters and not after Bachelor's . The placements given are good and well placed . Details of such placements are not revealed by the authorities

Studying in. Jadavpur University is a 100% value for money or even in any state owned University. The annual fee of the first year is Rs1235 which is mostly nothing compared to the faculty and infrastructure provided . It is probably the cheapest you can ever pay as college fee. If you want to thrive in the field of economics, Jadavpur University is want you need . If you want to pursue your master's or doctorate in foreign or other Indian universities, the tag of JU has gravity in it.

As a fresher, the campus life is amazing with various clubs and societies around like debating ,painting ,music ,dance ,drama ,entrepreneurship,etc . The teachers are easily accessible and are ready to help regarding academic problems . The seniors are really supportive and would help you out any moment . Jadavpur University is a 58 acre campus(main) in the heart of South Kolkata . Though being an open campus , it is safe and can handled emergencies . Police station is just across the street.

My experience as fresher has been amazing . Jadavpur University is like a home to me . Creating more memories and making dreams come true.

The Infrastructures here at Jadavpur University needs to improve. Being a state run University, the infrastructure is a little on the lower edge, but its worth the money you spend here while studying. Most labs are well equipped though.

The professors here are extremely qualifies and experienced. They are happy to share knowledge, and industrial opportunities. Jadavpur University is also famous for its research. So, you have a nice chance of gaining research knowledge if you want to while studying here.

The placements here at Jadavpur University has been pretty good from year to year. The scope for getting placed at Core Companies is pretty low though, but core companies do come at Jadavpur University. If you are technical enough, you will definitely grab a seat. Several IT giants all visit Jadavpur University, so if you are good with coding, you can definitely grab those jobs.

This is the field what makes Jadavpur University stand out. The tuition fee of the 4 years B.E course is 9600, which makes 2400 a year. Getting an Engineering degree at such an cost with so much facilities, exposure is truly mind-boggling!

The college campus is full of activities where students can engage in. There are many active clubs, where can students can join to get along with something other than academics. The Teacher-Student, Senior-Junior interaction is superb in Jadavpur University.

Infrastructure is decent. Both the campus (Jadavpur and Salt Lake ) have hostel facility, sports facility and library. But improvement and proper maintenance needs to be taken in several areas for SL campus.

I'm pursuing BE in Construction Engineering, which is almost Civil Engineering. Teachers are highly educated and their teaching methodology is remarkable. Students, here in JU, get placed after four years or go for higher studies.

Placement scenario is best in CSE, ECE and IT, great in IEE, EE, decent in PE, ME, ChE, moderate in MetE, FTBE, CE, ConsE, PowE, PrnE. There is no such poor placement. CSE students get the highest package of around 40 lpa and this department has 100% placement record.

Absolutely, the return of investment is great. You are paying Rs.10,710 for the 4 years Engineering course. That means 2678 per year. And getting 10+ lpa salary after 4 years which is much better in comparison to many IIT's and NIT's.

Currently, there are two campuses. The main campus is in Jadavpur and the second campus in Salt Lake. The main campus is much more spacious owing to it's larger area. Arts, Science and Engineering departments are present in Main Campus while 5 other Engineering departments and some PG course are present in Salt Lake campus. Moreover, JU offers many clubs and societies so that the students can improve their skill and find their own passion. Finally, the campus life is much better in main campus.

Studying in JU is anyone's dream. And if you can make it, that means you have achieved the first stage of your success.

Laboratory equipments are obsolete and numbers are less compared to the students. Library is great. Food and living space are nice.. computer lab far better...and one thing... special labs in master's are not so good

Don't expect much from the teachers in classroom. You have to do your own. But teachers are friendly and helpful... They will help you whenever you ask..but some teachers are not good at teaching...so you have to master of that topic by yourself

As for physics students...there are no good placements. You may find some companies...but they prefer engineering than physics...but if you have a course in electronics...you may have a chance... that's it

Education cost is lower than other institutions.

Campus environment is the best part of it. You will feel the freedom of a bird here. Teaching and non-teaching staffs are friendly and supportive.

Once you get into it...it's sentiments will last forever....but for academic sides...you are the supreme of you...you have to stand for you... don't get involved in unnecessary activities....do what you have come to do.

Satisfactory infrastructure! But needs maintenance for sure. Living space is clean for sure and canteen foods are too hygienic but in rainy seasons water logging really creates an issue for everyone. Libraries have ample books but in labs some computers do not work properly. Toilets are clean but sanitary equipments are sometimes missing. Wifi is there but its speed is a bit slow? Hostels are also well built. Smart boards are available in exam hall where certain classes are held.

I m studying mathematics and doing my bachelors degree here. The reason is my early curiosity in mathematics. I love to solve sums and play with numbers. Teaching quality is just satisfactory depending on the teacher for sure. The curriculum is quite lengthy and vast.

Jadavpur is known for its placement. But mainly in engineering section. 70-80% students are getting placed with an average 8-9 lakh per annum. Previous year one guy from CS got a whooping 1 crore package

It's known for its cheap and best education. 1800 rs per annum i.e just 150 rs per month is merely a burden even on economically weaker section. Its definitely worth every penny

The atmosphere is quite good! Everyone shares a good relationship with one another. Best in education and worst may be infrastructure (as compared to other big colleges)

Jadavpur is more than a college, dream for many, emotion for others

Infrastructures are fairly good ,Jadavpur University Saltlake Campus has a CAB ground, Most of the renowned cricket players come here and do practice sessions and Common rooms are also well established and The Departments Infrastructure is also good.The only department to have an AC in JUSL campus. If you compare with JU main campus then Infrastructure may be a bit lagging.

Academics in JU Construction is great. Most of the professors are highly renowned and do their masters in elite institutions of the world.If you are interested into Higher studies,This department has a lot lot to offer.The department has a Soil mechanics laboratory,repair retrofit lab and Most of the tests related to Construction &Civil and Earthquake ,concrete cement technologies are done here.Students pursue higher studies in IITs,IIMs And ithere is a Daad/mitacs scholarship if you ar well&gud

In 2019-20 Placement season, JU Construction has seen The best placement. This year placement season has been seen recruiters ranging from HILTI,Texmaco,L&T Construction, SPCL,Edge Brand Architects, Air products ,MN Dastur,STUP Consultants in core sector and in Non core There are L&T Infotech, Wipro Turbo,Capgemini, Ipsos Business Consulting, Livepure ,Goldman sachs Bridgei2i recruits.This year It has 100% placement and Highest package 11 lpa(HILTI)and Average was 4.74 and iesair2isfromths dept.

It's great in terms of ROI,Fees are very low 2400/yr.

Campus life is great in Jadavpur University. We often enjoyed playing football and have a great time in common rooms.The students are very Cooperative and Seniors too.If you have any emergencies,They first look into that.

It's great.I should stay in this college after my graduation also.I love this atmosphere. It's mesmerising and awesome .

College has all the necessary requirements for labs and other infrastructures. Mostly,classrooms are air-conditioned,labs are well equipped with instruments,hostels and campus wifi are pretty good and ample oppurtunities of sports present owing to the lush green CAB ground and the attached football field,both maintained by CAB. Living spaces are moderately clean and the food is hygienic.Smart boards are not present in classrooms though.

I am studying B.E. in Construction engineering,since from a very young age,I was interested in the structures of bridges and buildings which intrigued me.Keeping in mind the reputation of our institution,it was then an obvious choice.The quality of teaching is very good,most professors are highly qualified and have a plethora of knowledge to be imparted.Our curriculum has been updated just two years back,with the common syllabus for UG-1 and departmental syllabi from UG-2,making us job ready.

Jadavpur University boasts of its placements.Nearly 75-80% of the students are placed with the remaining 20-25% aiming for higher studies and competitive entrances,which they crack with flying colours.As of 2019,the highest package offered was to the CSE department,with a value of 42 lpa.Overall,the median package for all streams combined lies between 5-5.5 lpa.For my stream,the highest package on campus was 11 lpa,with the median package of 4.74 lpa.I can't say much about process,being in UG-1.

Jadavpur University is unparalleled in terms of its ROI,better than most IITs and NITs in terms of ROI.Each year,a B.E. student has an expense of 2500 rupees,so 10000 rupees for 4 years,and the placement packages are very high soaring.Moreover,the cost borne by the University in teaching us is far greater than what we spend in 4 years.So yes,our college is a complete value for money.

Campus life is booming in our college.With fests like Srijan and Sanskriti,we always have reasons to stay motivated in academics.Our freshers in Salt Lake Campus is called CIIPPUS.Its a very vital stage for the freshers to showcase their talents.For activities,we have several clubs like the CodeClub,the Science club(JUSC) etc.These are meant to keep students engaged.Teachers and staff are very supporting.Presently we have 67.6+22.3 acres for this university in Jadavpur and Salt Lake combined.

From the time I entered this college,I have experienced a delighting aura about this place,which I am sure,anyone visiting our campus would experience.

Infrastructure is good .... libraries also good bt it should be more good.here laboratories is good bt it is too old.. I think it needs changes...and some modern equipment should be in corporate . Classroom are good. stock of book at library should be more..

I am studying B.E electrical engineering. I don't know why I am studying. teacher are good ....and quality of teaching is moderate. Some teacher are very good they give enough effort . I think some modern things should be incorporated with studies.

Here placement is good. Our one beloved senior also got a job at Google .not only that may other senior also got job at various big companies like Microsoft, Samsung, TCS,Vedanta steel, Rockwell automation and so many.

Here academic cost is very low.semester fee is very low ..For B.E electrical engineering yearly fees 3000 and semester fees is 64 rs. Here fees of all the courses is very low. Here also have hostel facility and hostel fees also low.

Campus is good in campus there have many types of facility like ATM and medicine shop. In campus also have many canteen.. between them ac canteen is cheap .... also have a big playground ... basically overall campus is good

Overall university is good ..and it's ranking is also very high among the india ..main advantage is placement is good..so . Here teacher is good...But I think departmental library should keep more stoke of book

•Pros- The science and engg. faculty is brilliant! Labs are well equipped, new labs are being built. Libraries are also equipped with large no. of books. Campus has its own gym for students. Also each department provides free Wifi to students. Also no restriction on attendance. Food is extremely good. 5-6 cantenes are here and they are fantastic! You may find the campus a bit dirty as there are posters due to a political environment here. But apart from it, campus is quite clean and beautiful.

I am studying B.Sc mathematics here. Quality of teaching is quite good except a few professors. Apart from the bachelor's level , masters and PhD level are also one of the best in West Bengal. Yes syllabus has been updated after new CBCS system being introduced in sci-faculty. Also the engg. dept provides a good syllabus that helps to pursue research/industry in near future. Students can learn coding too.

Engg. placements are brilliant . Average salary ranges between 10-15 lakhs for top tier streams like CSE,ECE,EE and a bit lower for other streams. Science placement after B.Sc /M.Sc is not that good though the placement cell is working hard to secure placements in recent years. Though most students get to research after MSc and majority of them get into posts of lecturers in colleges of west bengal after completing PhD.

For engg. -2400/- per year , for science -1860/- year. So yes, value of money is absolutely worth it. Many of my friends are from lower middle class families and JU provides them a good environment to fulfill their dreams.

JU is one of the best colleges to experience diverse campus life. Dramatics, photography, mountaineering, painting , sports ,dance, singing are different activities one can take part in. You can take part in different cultural fests( like reunion, fest, Ibtida etc.) and cherish your hobbies. The campus gates are open 24×7. So you can enter anytime and get out anytime. A very free campus to spend a quality time with your friends. Location is on the main road. Absolutely safe.
