College of Engineering, Vadakara Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The College offers hostel facilities for male students in three hostels near the campus. Managed by wardens, resident tutors, and matrons, the hostels ensure a comfortable living environment. Food expenses are shared among the residents, fostering a communal atmosphere. The college hostel is running inside the campus with a capacity of 200 students. Additionally, a hostel is running in a building located within 800 meters of the campus by taking the building on lease. All these hostels are fully under the control of the college authorities. Warden, Resident tutors, and Matron take care of the students; expenses for food are shared by the inmates.  

The College provides hostel facilities for 350 female students in three leased buildings within 800 metres of the campus. Fully managed by college authorities, these hostels offer a safe and supportive environment with shared food expenses. A new hostel is under construction. The college hostel is running inside the campus with a capacity of 200 students. The College has a medical centre in collaboration with the Cooperative Hospital, Vadakara. This facility ensures that students and staff have access to necessary medical care and health services on campus.

The College Central Library is the knowledge hub of the institution, supporting teaching, learning, research, and innovation by providing access to quality information resources and modern library services. Centrally located in the Administrative Block with easy access from all academic departments, the library offers a comfortable and technology-enabled learning environment for students, faculty, researchers, and staff. The library houses a rich collection of more than 25,000 printed books, e-books, online and offline journals, video lectures, digital archives, previous years’ university question papers, project reports, seminar reports, and other academic resources covering various disciplines of engineering and technology. To support academic excellence and research, the library is an institutional member of the Developing Library Network (DELNET) and the National Digital Library of India (NDLI). Users also have access to a wide range of national and international scholarly journals through the One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) platform.

The College provides extensive sports facilities for all students, encouraging physical fitness and recreational activities. These facilities support a variety of sports and help in organising sports events and competitions.

The College features excellent IT infrastructure, offering students access to modern technology and resources. This includes computer labs, high-speed internet, and up-to-date software, facilitating effective learning and research. The institute has a state-of-the-art Central Computing Center. The facility serves as the key point of computing resources, which are shared by all the departments and offices of the College. The CCF comprises of Server room and  Labs equipped with servers, computer terminals and other accessories, including printers, scanners, LCD projectors, etc., that are available for the use of the staff and the students of the Institution. The facility is served by a 100Mbps leased line internet connection availed under the NKN scheme of the Central Government and a 10 Mbps BSNL VPN  internet connection. It is the hub of the campus-wide network backbone and distributes internet connectivity throughout the Campus via fibre optical connectivity, and all the academic blocks are Wi Fi connected.

The College has a full-fledged canteen that is running on the college premises on a contract basis at subsidized rates. Nearly 150 students and 30 staff can be accommodated at a time. The canteen building is sponsored by the PTA.

The College operates 10 buses for transporting students and staff, covering routes to Vadakara, Payyoli, Koyilandi, and Perambra. The transportation facility is managed by a bus committee, ensuring reliable and efficient service.

The College provides a Wi-Fi facility (Cisco) with a 130 Mbps leased line, available 24/7. This ensures constant internet connectivity, supporting the academic and personal needs of students and staff.

The College has a registered co–operative store run under an elected board. All kinds of stationery materials required for students and staff are available in the co-operative store at a reduced price. 

The College auditorium is equipped to host various events and seminars. It provides a spacious and well-facilitated venue for academic and cultural activities, enhancing the overall student experience.

The College offers well-equipped departmental laboratories for students, supporting practical and experimental learning. These facilities enable hands-on experience and foster a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts across various disciplines.
