hello aspirant,

It is quite difficult to predict precisely as you have not mentioned your GATE Rank 2022. I would like to tell you that the GATE qualifying Cutoff varies every year and it bound to change for every category students.

The GATE Cutoff depends on several factors like :

  • Performance of the candidate GATE exam.

  • Category of the candidates

  • Previous cutoff trends

However, looking at the previous year GATE Cutoff and previous year cutoff trends, you have good chances to get admission in various top NIT's since getting GATE score around 500-800 is considered good to get various good branch like CSE in top NIT's.

Please note that the above prediction may vary as the GATE Cutoff bound to change every year.

Further, to know more about the branch-wise  GATE cutoff , you can follow the below mentioned link to know more : https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/gate-cutoff

Also, you can follow the GATE predictor tool to know more about your admission chances: https://engineering.careers360.com/gate-college-predictor

I hope that this will help.

Hi aspirant,

Bsc graduates cannot take admission lateral entry in BTech courses at RV College of Engineering. To be eligible for the lateral entry program that candidate must have completed his or her diploma with at least 45 percentage and later they need to appear for KCET examination and through counselling they are allotted respective seats. Now if you want to get admission in BTech program then there are two condition, if you are diploma holder then you would need to appear for KCET examination and if you have done your intermediate normally then you can either appear for either COMEDK or KCET. Also please note that you must meet the required age criteria set up by the university for the various courses and information for which is available on the official website of the college.

Hope it helps!

Hii aspirant,

Yes it is certainly possible to change your branch after first year of BTech in RV College of Engineering but it is a very complex procedure. The process by which you can upgrade your seat is through branch migration program which is is held at the end of second semester. In this window seats for one or two percent of the total strength of the branch you are willing to to get into are made available. An application form would be released by the institution and all the students who are willing to get an upgrade are required to the fill the form and on the basis of merit they would be allotted a new seat. It is very important to note that the competition is very tough because everyone wants to get their branch upgraded and therefore you would need to keep your CGPA above 9.5 in order to achieve this. To know about the process and its rule you need to contact the seniors of the college.

Hope it helps!

Ashish,

VIT is more of a kind of college which takes admission in bulk where as RV takes more through merit. Vit takes approximately 1000 students per branch, RV takes probably 150. In RV one would receive much larger attention and certainly have better faculty, trust me I've seen both, vit professors are not the friendly ones at all. Also there would be less biasing in RV with a much smaller crowd comparison to vit.

In the branch of CSE from rvce you'll get a package of over 7lpa if you can get through your interviews. This is for I'm guessing 50%of the class at least, vit can claim such salaries to probably 10% of ours passouts at max. Vit is more of the 3L Infosys job types.

Though you might have heard that VIT is giving a platform for awesome placements yes it's true but just for the ones who have inherited talent.

College Infrastructure

When I graduated, the ECE building was falling apart. The library was understocked as well. I see they've made improvements recently so its better now. The Wifi was unreliable and the gym was subpar. The labs were well stocked though. The food used to be good in my first year but declined along the way.

Placements are exceptional but training could be functional

College Infrastructure

Infrastructure is great with advanced labs, smart classes, and good speed Wi-Fi. Library is among the best regarding offering great resources to students of technology. The hostels are comfortable, but private rooms near campus are also preferred
