This college is good for computer science, information science or electronics otherwise there's no point in joining this college for any core stream. Hostel is good with horrible food. Management is worst in this college. No campus life. Placement is decent for above mentioned branches else mass recruiters are dream companies for other branch students.

So far, I've had a pretty good experience. The atmosphere is good and I have a good amount of freedom. There's no pressure to do anything. The teachers do their job well and they're vigilant in the class when it comes to attendance. In the campus, there are a few shops, a canteen and a coffee shop you can go to, during the breaks. Being a hostel student, the atmosphere in the hostel is great and the people are incredible. The seniors are very helpful too. What's not good is the food that we're served in our mess hall. Overall, the college is not bad.

Life in SMVIT is quite good. Seniors here are friendly, you can learn and enjoy in a recreational environment and carve out your skills. Infrastructure of college may sometimes bother you. faculty of SMVIT is undoubtedly brilliant in their respective fields.College possesses a good repo when it comes to placements. MNCs from Tech,IT and core fields assure that the deserving graduates grab a healthy package. The college has numerous active clubs and fests being held at fixed intervals, providing a competing platform. The hostels are well facilitated. Overall, The college is a good go.

The college is a really good one. Its not in the middle of the city, so you dont really have a lot of pollution or noise or any such thing. But its still near enough to go to your favorite restaurant. Its got a great library and the whole campus has free wifi. The placements are great and almost everyone gets a good job. The buildings are slightly old, but they are comfortable enough to have a good time. The faculty is supportive and help you in all sorts of stuff. There is no danger of ragging here(which is what many kids worry about). The hostel rooms are spacious and clean. The food is good. You have a nice canteen nearby and a book shop and a small bakery. And yeah, the campus is practically attached to an air force station. So, if you wanna see the aero india show for free every year, this is the right college to join XD

I am a student of ECE branch in Sir MVIT college. I am a hostelite. The college life of sir mvit college is amazing in my experience. The college is lenient in many aspects although it depends on your respective branch. Sir MVIT has one of the largest campus in Karnataka with almost 150 acres. There are different blocks for different department. Infrastructure of the college is old and has nothing fancy in it but it works for me. The faculty in my experience was good and quite experienced and they do help the students, you just need to cooperate. Placements is what grabbed my attention and is one of the factor I chose this college. Almost every student ends up getting a job with decent package especially of CSE, ISE and ECE branch. Large no. of companies including Amazon visit the college for placements. Sir MVIT has Canteen and a coffee shop with affordable rates but as i have said there is nothing fancy. There is also a stationary shop and 2 general stores in the campus with almost every important thing available. Coming to hostels there are different hostels for boys and girls. I can tell you about the boys hostel. There are 5 different blocks. The hostel is one of the most affordable in bangalore with almost 65% the rates as that of competetive colleges. The quality of the food is good but the taste didn't suited me at all. But there are several other dhabas and restaurants around the campus with very affordable rates. Ragging is not much of a scene in hostel and there are anti ragging commities formed to ensure that there are no such things happening. Other than this the college has well equipped labs with experienced lab assistants. There are 2 average sized auditoriums. A huge ground which consist of a cricket ground, football ground, a basketball court, tennis court. There is an indoor games stadium with 2 badminton courts, gym, TAble tennis etc. The college is filled with greenery and has thousands of trees which make the atmosphere pollution free. There are several groups and clubs suiting your different interests. There are many fests and events which are average. Overall its a good college if you want to live a typical engineering life and have a bright future ahead.

I've gotta be honest with you. The infrastructure for the first year BE course is horrible. Although it's quite better for the higher semesters. When it comes to the cultural activities it's below par. The faculty has been informative and useful to certain extent. Although, i've gotta warn you the mechanical staff ain't sane.

Overall a good college with a good learning atmosphere. Labs are all well equipped with good quality instruments required for experimentation. The college also has workshops that have the required equipments for performing a variety of tasks. The placements are quite good. The college library is a good environment to study or read during free hours. The canteen food in the college is not very expensive and the food is quite good. There are also Xerox and notes shops nearby to get any notes or but any stationary. The classrooms are a good environment to study and concentrate. The teachers are supportive and are good at their respective subjects. They help out at times of need. The break timings are offered twice a day in between the class hours. The college library provides all the necessary books and reference books required to study and refer. The fests that are conducted by the college are fun to attend accompanied by games a for all and fun filled events such as fashion shows and concerts. The learning atmosphere is good in the college. The placements are remarkable with top companies entering the campus. The transport facilities are also good with buses running on various routes to reach different places. There are good labs too with supportive faculty for each lab. The infrastructure of the college is quite good with different blocks for each branch of engineering. It is easy to approach teachers with doubts by reaching their staff rooms at their respective departments. Sir mvit is overall a good college with good students and teachers. The environment also offers may opportunities for go curriculars as well. There are many clubs or groups like debate clubs and many more that students can enroll themselves into. Students are not only required to concentrate on studies but are also given opportunities to fulfill the other needs in co curriculum areas. The teachers are very supportive and encouraging. When it comes to attendance 75% is mandatory and students follow it. The canteen is large and accommodates a large number of students without any congestion. Placements are amazing. In case of transport the college is located far from the city so travelling takes time. The campus houses a dental college also. There are also indoor and outdoor sports facilities like cricket ground football ground basketball court and table tennis. There is also a bank in case students needs. Sir mvit is ranked in the top ten colleges in Bangalore. There is also a good crowd of students in the college. The campus is old but very good and huge. It is overall a wonderful experience with this college. The main aspect of the college is placements which are really good. Very nice ambience apt for studies especially for cs and is.

The campus itself is very big, stretching across a huge plot of land. The campus is well surrounded by open ground and trees. The buildings are relatively new and well maintained. The labs are well equipped with acceptable equipment . The faculty is filled with distinguished personnel. The crowd is diverse. Fests are thrown on large scale. Participation is highly encouraged. All in all very positive response.

One of the well-known engineering colleges in blore. The faculty and academics wise it is very good. The campus is very large. The crowd is also good. Many fests and activities takes place. The canteen is very small and offers very less varieties. It is a good place away from the city chaos but there's no good connectivity. The hostel mess food is very bad.

The college as a whole is very good ...faculty are really helpful ..but the only disadvantage is this safety ..there is no proper walls for the college anyone can come and go into the college ....sometimes its like a open area ....there should some measures taken ..it's sometimes too hard for the students to even sit inside the college coz there is no safety ..

Sir MVIT is known for its marvellous placements. The infrastructure is not upto mark though since the college was established in 1986 but the teaching staff and overall environment of the college is really good. It has a huge campus where you can find students from all across India. Summing up, 'An above average college with good exposure to industry.'

Getting into this college is a pure bliss. The faculty is very homely and well educated. Placements are top notch. Hostel life is extremely amazing. Airport is very close to the college making it easy for non residents to catch a flight without hassle. Overall, one of the best colleges for engineering in bangalore. Also it is #5 in bangalore.

Sir MVIT Review

Batch of Jan. 1, 2013 | BE Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Faculty: MVIT has one of the finest faculties for Computer Science Engineering (CS) and Information Science Engineering (IS) departments in the whole of Bangalore with ECE, EEE, and Telecom following up close. The same, however, cannot be said about Mechanical, Civil and the remaining streams which have MTechs and inexperienced teachers dominating. The faculty is average in these departments, not bad. Attendance & Discipline: Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT) is quite stubborn about attendance issues. 75% is mandatory and everyone complies with it. Crowd: MVIT’s distant location doesn’t stop any of them from coming right from central Bangalore or even South Bangalore; at least half of the people here are from proper Bangalore. A lot of them come from North India too. All in all a very intermingling and friendly crowd, some nerdy types as well, and you can expect to have fun all four years. Canteen: MVIT’s canteen is sufficiently large and comfortably accommodates a large number of students without causing much congestion. It’s divided into 3-4 parts; one for the faculty, one with only standees, one with some chairs and tables and so on. The sitting area is a little less and only lucky ones get to eat lunch there. Food is a little inconsistent they say, what tastes the best today, might be the worst the next day. Juices & Milkshakes at the canteen are worth trying. Hangouts: There was a tiny smoking joint close to Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT) which everyone called the “HUT”, but it’s shut now. All that’s around the college now is vast stretches of barren land. Festivals: “Kalanjal” counts as the biggest celebrations event at Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT). It’s held in October. Apart from that, various other festivals like Technofest, E-fest, Susanskruti & department level fests are organized at the college. Placements: Marvellous! Everyone here can be assured of getting into one company or the other unless of course he/she opts out of the placement process. Many are said to get into 4 or 5 companies simultaneously and in such cases, it’s the student who chooses the company he wants to work for rather than the standard process of the company selecting students. TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, MindTree, Cummins are major recruiters. Highest salary goes to a whopping Rs. 13-14 lakh per annum and average hovers around Rs. 4,00,000 per year. “The only issue is that there are few core companies coming in for our department,” says a Mechanical Engineering student. Contact: Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT), Krishnadeveraya Nagar, Hunasamaranahalli, International Airport Road, Via-Yelahanka, Bangalore-562 157 Phone: 080-28467248, 28477024/25/26 Website: www.sirmvit.edu Verdict: Marvellous placements, above average faculty and a very interactive crowd make Sir M Visveswaraya Institute of Technology (MVIT) one of the most sought after engineering colleges in Bangalore. A must take for average scorers if they can get in and the toppers should definitely put it within the first 10 colleges of their lists.

Good college

This College, its meant for placements. Every student of computer science will have minimum 4-5 offers in hand at the end of his/her final year. The campus is too large and it is just like forest area where we will get a very low rate of the mobile network. Very good place for nature lovers. However, sometimes there will be the disturbance of Air Force helicopters.

One of the best colleges in Bangalore

Posted on 12 Aug' 16 by Nisha
Batch of Jan. 1, 2014 | BE Biotechnology
The college do have a very large campus based on the outskirts of the city. If talk about infrastructure do the buildings are old(not the main building) but still there is ample amount of space for each department present. As been associated to be in the top 5 colleges of Bangalore, the placements and the industry exposure is quite magnificent here, companies do know about the college for that matter especially for CSE/IT field jobs one looks out for after college. Overall the college is average for other streams on the point of placements as only some core companies look out for students. College life is a phase which is quite awesome especially if being an outsider because of great bonds you make and take back home , the food , the culture and the learning whether inside or outside the classroom. The girls hostel is quite a vibrant place where there is so much to do in terms of extra curricular activities with awesome meals ( as compared to the typical hostel food one gets the feel of) though wi-fi can be an issue for some.On the terms of learning and experience, the teachers have always something to tell you about every singe day. Though the engineering fees are getting higher and higher (as far as the private colleges are concerned) this can be a safe and a better bet.

The college life is awesome. The Faculties are good and, are heavily inclined towards the students to help them succeed in their life. The campus is quite big compared to the other campuses in Bangalore. Discipline and strictness are observed when it comes to learning. Also extracurricular activities are organised time to time for the students to hone their skills in their respective fields.

SMVIT is among the most reputed colleges in Bangalore, spanning over a vast area, SMVIT is amidst abundant greenery. Its away from the city and is ideal for students. The faculty is fairly good, student friendly.Language is not during lectures. However, not much is invested in extracurricular activities like college fest etc..and canteen can use some improvement too.The infrastructure is old but good.

MVIT is well known for placements. A lot many students do get placed here. The faculty is good, very friendly and approachable. For the studying part, it all depends on how much you concentrate in class. The subjects are hard and hence the lecturer requires a lot of time to explain the concepts. This makes the class a little boring. Mvit is not very known for fests, but we do have 'KALANJALI'. Unlike last years, this year the fest was promoted well and hence turned out to be really good. The transport facility is excellent, at a very reasonable fee. I am a locality but as heard from my hostel friends, hostel food is not that great. One big disadvantage of college is that it doesn't have a proper compound wall. Also, there are no nearby places to hang around. Attendance of 75% must be compulsorily maintained. If you have a good bunch of friends that will keep your college life always memorable. So will mine keep Mvit memorable

My college is one of the better known and top colleges of Bangalore. I was in the mechanical branch and was very happy. The facilities were upto the mark and the faculty was highly qualified/encouraging. They could surely improve on the general landscaping of the college campus and come up with a world class auditorium. They should also work towards attracting more core companies for branches like mechanical, biotech, civil etc.
