Hi there,
DTU is one of the finest engineering college in India, and your percentile is not enough to get the cse branch at DTU, you may get other branch but if you are an outsider the chances are still low.
You can go for other colleges like
- LNMIIT
- THAPAR
- JECRC etc.
You many not get cse but could get some circuial branch there.

If we compare the two colleges then Delhi Technological University is ranked at 36th position and Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, is ranked at 15th position. These rankings are given by the government of India in NIRF ranking on the basis of various parameters like research, placement, infrastructure, teaching and many more.
But here we are not just comparing two colleges for the same branch. We are talking about two different branches.
It should be completely your decision which branch you want to go for. If you are interested in mechanical engineering then go for it otherwise for the other one. Go for the syllabus of both the branches, take some time and then decide as it is about your career, I cannot decide on your behalf.
Because even if you take the branches based on the rankings of the colleges then also if you are not interested in that branch it will not take you anywhere as in the end we are all working for placement and if we not able to put 100% efforts then even a good colleges is of no use.

Getting top branches in DTU is not possible with this rank as i am assuming that you are a general category student and you are not a resident of Delhi (Haryana in Profile). The cutoff changes every year. For instance in 2019 the closing rank for Biotechnology and enviornmental engineering was 10501 and 11137 respectively but for 2020 it was 64721 and 65304 respectively. So prediction is very difficult. If this year too the closing rank will be similar to that of 2020 then you might get these two branches.

Assuming you belong to EWS Category. Since you profile says that you belong to West Bengal. It would be difficult to get into DTU in Normal rounds as you are other state student for DTU. However, you could get DTU in spot rounds as last year , rank close to 64000 got admitted into DTU. So if seat remains in spot rounds, then you could get some Branches in DTU.

Hi there,
If you belong to general category, then unfortunately you can't get cse at any of the above mentioned colleges.
Not only cse but also getting a seat is difficult too.
With your percentile you can try at some other colleges like:-
- BIT meshra
- Lnmiit
- Thapar
- Pec
- Chandigarh university
- Bit Sindri etc.
But still getting cse is not that easy in these colleges as well.

Electronics engineering from VIT is better than mechanical engineering from DTU. Top recruiting companies here are Infosys, L&T, TCS and many more. More than 70% of the students get placed in on-campus internships. Comparingly 65% students of mechanical branch from DTU also get placed. Top recruiters companies here are samsung, payTm, ITC, maruti, etc.

The building of this college is very well built .. Classrooms should be well built with necessary technology like projector . Our college provideds alots and very kind of facility .. Hostels are also built in very well mannered.

College Infrastructure
Delhi Technological University (DTU), one of India’s premier engineering institutions, is widely appreciated for its excellent infrastructure and vibrant campus environment.
