The main reason for this opinion depends upon some factors like Brand Name, Location, Placement ratio, Fees.

See due to limited availability of hostel rooms, the rooms are first allotted to the students belonging to state other than Delhi and if the seats remain vacant then the students of Delhi can get room in DTU Hostel otherwise the priority will be given to the outsiders

through delhi technological university has better ranking than vit , but for chemical engineering domain I would suggest you to go for vellore institute of technology main campus. DTU placement record is not promising for B.tech chemical engineering, around 70% students placed and number of core company is less.
