The permanent campus is a positive step, and you do feel the “institution-building” phase. That said, day-to-day student comfort (hostel/mess/admin turnaround) can be hit-or-miss. Also, the location can feel a bit isolated, which reduces the overall “city exposure” and networking outside campus especially compared to metro-based schools.

Academics are rigorous and the schedule can be intense. The course structure is good, but the teaching quality is mixed some faculty are strong and very approachable, while a few courses feel more theoretical or “slide-driven” than expected for an MBA. Peer learning is a big part of how you grow here. If you’re not proactive in case prep, class participation, projects you’ll struggle.

This is where students should be most realistic. Placements are improving, but they are not at the level of older IIMs yet, and outcomes can vary a lot by profile, past work-ex, specialization, and interview prep. Many offers cluster in BFSI, consulting, marketing, IT/analytics, and operations, but the proportion of top strategic roles (consulting/Finance at elite firms) is smaller compared to older IIMs. Recruiters and roles beyond ₹25 LPA are relatively limited, making stellar outcomes less common.

The total MBA fees are in the range of roughly ₹12.5–₹18.8 lakh for two years depending on the fee breakdown and batch year. For this kind of investment, students often expect stronger final placements, especially in sectors like consulting, finance, or premium strategy roles. While the average salary of ~₹16 LPA and highest around ₹26–32 LPA are respectable for a newer IIM, they are not competitive with older IIMs or even some other established MBA schools where the ROI is considerably higher relative to fees. Moreover, some students feel that infrastructure, hostels, and student support services still lag behind the cost, making the value proposition feel weaker compared with other management colleges charging similar fees. In simple terms: you do get the IIM brand and decent placements, but the cost vs outcome is moderate at best, and not outstanding unless you personally leverage internships, networking, and self-driven career efforts.

Campus life is active in terms of committees, academic pressure, and peer group bonding but it’s not a “fun-first” MBA. The overall vibe is more career grind + academics, and you’ll spend a lot of time on prep, competitions, and placement readiness.

I’d recommend IIM Jammu if you want an IIM brand with solid academic rigor and you are ready to work hard for placements without expecting old-IIM level outcomes. If you’re expecting “plug-and-play high packages” or a fully mature campus ecosystem, you may feel disappointed.

There are more resources available here than you could ever use. Our library has thousands of print books available. You can sit in the library till 2 A.M. We have a Bloomberg Terminal in our library. We are provided with tools like Grammarly, Turntin, etc. We have access over Harvard Case study Repositories via library. Our classes are equipped with projectors. We have well-maintained hostels and mess and our mess food is good because it's student-run so you get to choose what you want to eat.

We have a diverse variety of subjects - like Business Communication, Professional Writing, AI & ML, Foreign language, Accounting, Finance, and many others. Throughout these courses the faculties make sure that they don't just teach bookish stuff and they actually concentrate and encourage discussions so that, a variety of view points come on the table. There could be nothing more practical than this.

The total annual fees paid by IPM Students is 6,77,424. You totally get your money's worth because of the plethora of oppurtunities that you are provided with here every now and then and the modern infrastructure that is available to us.

The college has good infra, with a very vast library having an integrated software system for remote access, as well as finance lab included. The hostels are good wifi water cooler and AC everything intact, maintained and good academic building. Just all the buildings are very far, so have to do lot of walking while going to class or mess. but overall the college has a great infrastructure.

The teaching is exceptionally great since the faculties are not just teacher but rather facilitating the discussions in class. Classes and exams both are case based, the curriculum is yearly updated with modifications as and when necessary. The subjects can be a little more aligned as per the industry with more focus on learnings rather than just classes.

Placements have been decent with 14-17 LPA as average for last few years. Most students get placed, though since the economy isnt so good so there are exceptions. Placement process are a little more tedious than normal colleges.

Overall, if you are a fresher and no such other career path focus, the institute is a good opportunity to grow your career. If looking at MBA colleges, I think I made the right choice.

Campus is lively, with students roaming around the campus even till 3pm. Activities and events happen till late night. Cafe and Amul shop are filled with people till late night. The culture can be a little toxic due to competition as well as diversity of different kinds of people, since I am not very social, so it has been an okay experience for me.

IIM Jammu offers decent placements, though some firms withdrew. Not due to skill gaps, but external factors. Opportunities exist, but the market's fluctuating impact is there but overall the placements are fine.

If one is investigating such a hefty amount, It would be advisable to look for better opportunity.

I studied in the old campus which is equally beautiful as the new (current) one. We had a beautiful garden right in front of our classrooms. The weather at IIM Jammu is something that highlights the entire campus making it exceptionally beautiful.

We were the first batch of the IPM program and we learned a diverse set of courses that literally helped us in our MBA life. IIM Jammu has the best campus infrastructure build the classrooms designs are imitated from Harvard classrooms with the other facilities such as library both offline and the e-version have a lots of resources which student has the access for 2 years

Faculties here are very friendly and are very through with the concepts they teach us here. Other than this the curriculum is very rigorous and very hectic with case studies and case presentations to Project Presentation.

Here at IIM Jammu, there is a placement umbrella which constitutes of three committees which are for the welfare and development of the students in terms of the personality and for the expansion of the connections of the students.

A 4 star instead of a 5 because the campus is still coming together. The sports complex for example hasn't been fully built. The infrastructure, the design and the aesthetic of the campus though, is top notch.

The professors are amazing and the flow of the classes aren't the way typical lectures go. The student discussions drive the entire course of the lectures. The case study discussions, presentations and debates keep the atmosphere lively.

The market condition is always a very important macro factor influencing placements, but regardless, the placement of this batch is going great with a significant portion placed already. The packages being offered are also very decent.

The ROI is to a great extent dependent on your performance throughout your academic journey. If you have a good academic history, your chances of getting shortlisted for higher paying companies increases. Similarly, if your CGPA in MBA is decent, your chances of cracking an interview is higher.
