IIM Amritsar Admission Process

Indian Institute of Management Amritsar admissions are provided to MBA and Ph.D programmes. Candidates are shortlisted for a Personal Interview round as per the IIM Amritsar PGP admissions process. Students must fulfil the IIM Amritsar eligibility criteria to apply for the courses. IIM Amritsar admission to the Ph.D programme is done on the basis of CAT/GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF examination scores.

Candidates must pass a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute.

Candidates must have a minimum 88% score in the CAT examination.

IIM Amritsar MBA Admission Process

Students have to appear and qualify the CAT examination.
IIM Amritsar will declare the CAT cutoff percentage.
Students who meet the cutoff declared by IIM Amritsar can fill out the application form on the official website of the institute.
Further, students have to appear for a Personal Interview on the basis of their CAT percentile.
Candidates will be shortlisted based on the student's performance in the PI.
Criteria for allocation of seats depends 70% on PI, 10% each on Work Experience, Gender Diversity and Academic Diversity.
Complete the admission process by submitting documents and paying the IIM Amritsar fees.

IIM Amritsar Ph.D Admission Process

Candidates must qualify the GRE/GMAT/GATE/UGC-JRF/IIMB Test to be eligible for IIITA Doctorate admissions.
Eligible candidates have to apply on the official website of the institute and pay the application fee of Rs 1500(Rs 1000 for reserved categories).
On the basis of academic performance and application submitted candidates will be called for a written test and a personal interview.
Students will be selected on the basis of their past academic performance and personal interview performance conducted by the institute.
Candidates selected need to deposit course fees and submit the documents to confirm their admission.

The CAT test is the initial requirement for admission to the IIMs. The Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview are the following phases (PI). The WAT and PI are the primary selection factors for admission to IIM MBA. They take place following the release of the CAT results. Candidates are shortlisted for WAT and PI if they fulfil the CAT cutoff. Final admission decisions are made based on a candidate's entire profile, which includes their CAT, academic, work, and category scores as well as their WAT and PI scores.

Look at the IIM's qualifying requirements below:

The minimum graduation requirement for admission to an IIM is 50% overall, or an equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PWD/DA categories).
Candidates who are taking the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification test in their final year or who are awaiting their results may also apply.
The candidates must satisfy the IIM shortlist/qualifying cut off in order to be called for an IIM interview.
The minimal IIM call cut off must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for interview calls and to take part in WAT/GD-PI.

So, you are eligible to apply for CAT to get into IIM.

There are so many IIM and you are eligible for all if you CAT cutoff is above 90.

K J Somaiya Institute of Management for MBA or IIM Amritsar for MBA

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well !

Keeping in mind, both K J Somaiya Institute of Management, and IIM Amritsar both are really good colleges, in my opinion, IIM Amritsar would be the better option.

Though K J Somaiya's Highest package(26.5 LPA) is more than IIM Amritsar's(25.21 LPA). IIM Amritsar's average placement(14.63 LPA) is better than the other(10.59 LPA).

Also one of the most important quality you get in an IIM is it's brand. There is no doubt that IIM Amritsar has a brand much stronger than the other.

Iim amritsar cut off is 80 percentile and iim shillong 75

Hello aspirant
Based in CAT 2019, IIM Shillong and IIM Amritsar has released the cutoff list for admission into academic year 2020-22.
IIM AMRITSAR has 85 percentile as cut off for general category along with sectional cut offs. Furthermore, unlike other IIMs, IIM Shillong does not release the overall cutoff of CAT.
