Hello dear student,

Greetings!

Eligibility for iit is that candidates must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.

So , you being a student from st category from cbse board,  you need to get at least 65 % in class 12th yo be eligible for iit.

thankyou

Hi Sumit.

Look, students usually don't prefer such branches because they have an extra burden of those additional subjects. But, at the end of the day, if you're good at coding at coping up with the studies of either Bioscience or Social science, you would get placed well. There is less scope of CS together with Social Science or Bioscience particularly.

Hello,

See during the spot round of a college the basic purpose is to fill the vacant seats left during the online counselling.

So if the seats reserved for delhi region are filled then i think you can get a seat only if there is no further admission from the outside delhi region, then only you can get a seat.

Since the seats reserved for the delhi region students are filled now so there are less chances, but i want to suggest you to take part in spot round only if you are sure that there will be no further admission.

Because that's the only way possible, otherwise no vacant seats are left.

Hope it helps!

Regards!

Hello aspirant,

IIITD base rank cut-off means that cut-off rank of last round of counselling. The cut-offs for IIIT-D are based on ranks calculated using the JEE Main score as well as Boards score. These cut-offs can be an indicator of what rank will be the last to enter IIIT-Delhi. I would suggest you aim for a rank higher than the cut-off given here (try for around 4k-5k).

Hope this will be helpful!!!

Hello aspirant!! The base rank cut-off means that cut-off rank of last round of counselling. Hope this helps!!

Hi,

If you don't freeze your seat until the last rounds of the counseling then you won't be able to get a seat in any college. So if you have kept any seat on the float or slide option I would ask you to freeze it. While in internal up-gradation also you have to freeze a seat, otherwise you won't be registered to that seat.

I hope I was able to clear your query

Thank You

Yes, you can. You just need to have a valid JEE main score. It will be followed by counseling and UCEED. UCEED will only be applicable to you if you belong to Delhi. If you are Delhi based but not of science background, you can also apply on the basis of 10+2 score. Hope this helped!

Dearr Alia,

Well, the choice is very simple here - IIIT Hyderabad.

I will be surprised if someone recommends something else.

  • If you are just considering Computer Science, the only colleges better than IIIT H would be the old 5 IITs (that too because of the students there)
  • The quality of research and professors in IIIT H is far more superior than the other colleges you have mentioned.
  • If you are planning to do an MS, the environment and exposure you will receive in IIIT H is going to be far more superior than DTU, NSIT or IIIT Delhi.
  • Placement statistics of IIIT H is comparable to CS placements of the old 5 IITs . Be it programming contests, Google Summer of Code, jobs at Facebook, Google,Uber, Tower research , Microsoft- Name any of the IT giants of the world or any coding contest, IIIT H students are right there competing against the best of the best.
  • You are too young to decide for an MBA. There are very good chances that after a degree in Computer Science , you might not need an MBA after all. A class 12 child deciding to do an MBA is very immature in my opinion. Explore and understand what an undergraduate program is going to offer you before deciding about a graduate program.
  • The only reason for not joining IIIT H would be that you absolutely hate coding !

Hope I have made myself clear.
Best Wishes!

Hello aspirant ,

According to previous year statistics you can get the following branches in IIIT delhi :

  • Computer science and biosciences
  • Computer science and social sciences

You can get computer science along with the courses mentioned above, you can not get separate computer science branch as it's cut off was around 70k rank last year.

Hope it helps.
