As per the information available online, TCS allows all branches to participate in the placements. But the point is that one should have a sufficient knowledge in coding in order to get placed. So if you are from a non-CSE/IT background and still you want to go for that genre of jobs then you need to work on coding skills and you have to learn the coding languages such as JAVA, SQL, C, C++ etc. So if you are wiling to go for CSE related jobs you have to put some efforts apart from your curriculum.

If you are interested in the course then go for it. If you are just looking at the name of the college and joining in a particular branch, then taking such kind of decisions is not correct.
Although Printing Technology is becoming increasingly important, both in the country and abroad as an academic discipline, the fact that the subject of printing could be included in the Faculty of Engineering was never thought of in India until it was established in Jadavpur University in 1988. The department at present is offering the Bachelors degree in Printing Engineering and annual intake of students is 25.
The few major printing & packaging recruiters in this department are:-
ITC PSPD, ITC PPB, Saraswaty Press, Thomson Press, Repro, DIC, Siegwerk, Times of India, ABP, HT etc.
There are some IT companies too.

Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing well.
Both the colleges are exceptionally good in terms of brand name, education, faculties, failities and academics. However the branch that you have chosen might not help you much in placements.
Also if you want to appear for CAT, then your academics in graduation must be a good score. So you must opt for such a course which is easier or in which yo can score better. Therefore pursuing printing engineering in Jadavpur will be a better option.
Hope that you got the answer to your question. Feel free to comment back incase of any doubts. All the Best!

See both the institute are the finest institute in westbengal. So if you have to choose between this two then you have select in terms of subject and your interest. Chemical Engineering have moderate job available in India. Although as we know for most core fields, the core jobs are less. But in case of printing technology there is a better working exposure. Also the placements of Printing technology are good as well as the Chemical Engineering. So it can't be distinguished in any manner of important. So I would recommend you to choose the field of your interest and either way you will get good jobs as well as future exposure.
If you want to go for Research and Development careers then Chemical Engineering will give you good scope in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Synthesis and Micro Molecular Studies etc.
Now its your choice.

If you consider the importance of the course Chemical Engineering is much more important than Printing Engineering. Though Jadavpur University is a very renowned institution and your placements would be amazing in future but NIT Durgapur is also really a very good institution. The Chemical Engineering curriculum taught in that Campus is updated, with all the desired facilities, there are plenty student-friendly , experienced faculties. So I would suggest you to choose this over JU.

College infrastructure really needs to upgrade. Even though there's wifi, adequate classrooms and all of that, the cleanliness amd the buildings need to do better. There's also a shortage of desks and chairs.
A very liberal space where everyone is free to express themselves without the fear of getting judged. The libraries have adequate books for students of all the classes. The classrooms have enough space to accommodate at least 70 people.
The infrastructure at Jadavpur University is decent overall, with the essential facilities in place for students. Classrooms, laboratories, and libraries are fairly maintained. The canteens offer hygienic and affordable food, making it convenient for students to manage daily meals. However, the condition of bathrooms is rather poor. The Engineering Drawing rooms don't look like they ever get cleaned. Repairs of electrical appliances like fans and lights often take a long time. Concern affecting infrastructure development is the lack of sufficient funding, which has slowed down repairs and modernization efforts. With better financial support, the campus facilities could be significantly improved.
