UPES B.Tech Admissions 2026
ApplyRanked #43 among Engineering colleges in India by NIRF | Highest Package 1.3 CR , 100% Placements
Hi Aditya,
Jadavpur University offers a plethora of degree courses from B.Sc, B.A. to B. Tech. Therefore, you need to specify first, in which discipline you want admission.
In any case whatsoever, the general admission criteria for any degree course other than B.A . in JU requires you to pass 10+2 exam from a recognized Board with Mathematics and any of two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Geology & Economics with an average of at least 70% marks.
Therefore, unfortunately, you won't be eligible for Jadavpur University.
Dear Riddhi,
You need to appear for the JU exam to take admission in BA(hons.). At first you need to fill the application form which is already running and it will end by 20th of August, so just do it as soon as possible. After that on the basis of marks you scored they will post the merit list.
They haven't released any information regarding to the exam but they have distributed the application form and you will apply that form between the dates or 2 August to 20 August.
Good Luck :)

Hi
In wbjee all the seats are alloted on the basis of GMR rank and not your category rank.
This is very difficult to predict because cut off keeps changing every year depending upon a number of factors like
--------) number of students that appeared in the WBJEE exam
--------)difficulty level of the WBJEE examination
--------)Kind of marks obtained by the students in the WBJEE exam
--------) number of students from different categories
--------) seats available for different branches etc
But yes,
With your 3472 GMR rank , considering you from sc category,
On the basis of analysis of past years wbjee cut off data , you have low chances in Jadavpur University for IT
For example,
In 2020 , in 3rd round of wbjee, 2603 GMR rank for sc category was the closing/last rank for Jadavpur University for IT

Hello Satyajit,
It is very difficult to predict the college because you do not mention your state region. All the seats of WBJEE are allotted on the basis of GMR rank. And your general rank is 5743 and also your belonging to SC category. So you have SC category quota. There is chance to get admission in this university for BE Information Technology. According to the previous year, the closing rank of BE Information Technology for home state is 5005.
You can predict college from the link given below https://www.careers360.com/wbjee-college-predictor

Best of luck :)
Dear Rakibul,
Let me know first , whether you are a domicile of West Bengal or not . Because, after qualifying eligibility ,still you may have less chance to get admission in Jadavpur University as it take 90% candidates based on Home state quota only i.e candidates those are domiciled in West Bengal.
Well, with your OBC rank , you are provisionally eligible to get admission in JU with CSE, you need to wait maybe upto 2nd round .
you can use this WBJEE college predictor tool to know your chances to get admission in B.Tech CSE at JU as well as other universities also !

College infrastructure really needs to upgrade. Even though there's wifi, adequate classrooms and all of that, the cleanliness amd the buildings need to do better. There's also a shortage of desks and chairs.
A very liberal space where everyone is free to express themselves without the fear of getting judged. The libraries have adequate books for students of all the classes. The classrooms have enough space to accommodate at least 70 people.
The infrastructure at Jadavpur University is decent overall, with the essential facilities in place for students. Classrooms, laboratories, and libraries are fairly maintained. The canteens offer hygienic and affordable food, making it convenient for students to manage daily meals. However, the condition of bathrooms is rather poor. The Engineering Drawing rooms don't look like they ever get cleaned. Repairs of electrical appliances like fans and lights often take a long time. Concern affecting infrastructure development is the lack of sufficient funding, which has slowed down repairs and modernization efforts. With better financial support, the campus facilities could be significantly improved.
