First of all congratulations for your result. The cutoffs change every year as it depends on various factors. And Jadavpur University is among the top government Engineering colleges of India. So the cutoffs are enough higher compared to other colleges. Now you don't have West Bengal State Domicile that means you'll he applying through Other state quota and the cutoffs for other state candidates are generally higher than home state candidates. For home state general candidates, mechanical and electrical seats in Jadavpur University are filled within 300 and 200 GMR respectively after round 3 counselling. So the cutoffs for other state candidates will be higher than this. So with 350 rank it will be a bit difficult to get Mechanical or Electrical in Jadavpur Univeristy. You can expect other branches such as, printing Engineering or Food Technology & Bio-Chemical Engineering etc. But you can surely get good private Engineering colleges like IEM, Heritage Institute if Technology, Techno India Salt Lake etc. This is based on last few years' cutoff and this year it might get changed. But you can get into Jadavpur University, may not be Electrical but other branches mentioned above can be achievable. You can use our WBJee college Predictor tool to know where you have good chances http://www.careers360.com/wbjee-college-predictor

Greetings!

Firstly congratulations! you have got really good colleges! Now coming to comparison

Now there are some factors you need to consider, first and foremost is if you are getting better branch in any of these two, just go for it, no need to see further comparison at all, now considering you have same branches in both let's proceed forward.

The final decision has to be taken by you, I would leave you with pros and cons, and believe me there isn't much difference in both of them, the main differences mainly form the fact that one is state funded and other is national funded.

Now Jadavpur has some really good advantages, firstly it is way cheaper than any NIT/IIT you can almost say that four year degree in Jadavpur is for free! Secondly Jadavpur is an older university when compared to NIT Warangal, in fact it is one of the oldest ones in India!

Research and Placements for both are going to be almost same.

But Enough of pros of Jadavpur, let's come to cons, firstly Jadavpur has very bad infrastructure when compared to NIT warangal, so if you were coming for sky high buildings with best cleanliness, I would suggest you to keep your expectations a bit low. Secondly in recent years Jadavpur is suffering from funding problems, and it is not hidden from anyone, now I am not saying that it is going to collapse or something but yes that is a factor to consider.

Overall I would say if you want to save money and have complete freedom in life go for Jadavpur, however if you want to enjoy your college life and be part of clubs and chapters than I would suggest NIT warangle, that is the only call you have to make, for placements you can be rest assured that you aren't going to regret any of these two

It and cse is top departments of ju. You need to work hard for that.

Hello Aspirant,

It is quite difficult to make any accurate prediction of your admission chances for any particular college or branch because the cut-offs keep on changing every year depending upon various factors such as :-

*** number of candidates appeared in WBJEE 2022

*** difficulty level of the paper

*** top score for WBJEE 2022

*** total number of seats available for admission and so on

However on the basis of previous year's cut-off you have no chances of ECE in Jadavpur University, because last year the closing GMR for ECE seat was around 160.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/wbjee-cutoff

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous year's cut-off and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

You can also use WBJEE College Predictor for more accurate predictions :-

An honest review of Jadavpur University.

College Infrastructure

A bit underwhelming due to inadequate funding. Basic labs found in first year are not upto the mark. However when it comes to equipments, toh would probably all of them except half of them are obsolete from industry pov.

It is going quite good yet.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The Jadavpur University has quite old buildings. But, it has a central library with separate libraries in each department. It has 4-5 canteens at different points in the campus. It also has an Open air theatre, A gym, and a basketball court adjacent to the main ground.

My experience at Jadavpur University was great.

Verified Review

College Infrastructure

The university still uses alot of buildings that are way too old and they are maintained very rarely. But, few new buildings have been built recently which is a good thing. There is a lack of adequate labs for example in my department (Economics) there is no sufficient facility. There is also lack of ACs in the classrooms.
