IET college accepts UPSEE to intake students for different course offered in the institute. You can't take an admission using JEE Mains.

you can apply for colleges which accepts JEE Main for Btech program.

for OBC rank you can get Civil engineering:- 2095-2694 , ECE:- 1277-1840.

Except CSE and IT you can take admission in any branch you like. Better to go for ECE branch which will help you get high scope in core industry and technical corporates.

fees for the college  is low and as per your rank you can also apply for TFW also for which you dont have to pay the tution fees for each semester.

You have good branch to get an admission in IET but may not be in CSE or ECE as it has really low rank.

you can go for core branches or non-techical branches in the college. if you have any reservation then you go for CSE or IT branch.

for general category the cutoff is around 100.

At IET the total number of seats available for MCA is 60 and it is same for KNIT also. you can get the details from the official page of the institutions. There are additional seats for Btech and low seats for MTECH but 60  seats are available for MCA in both the college i.e. IET and KNIT.

Nope getting a CSE branch at this rank is not possible until you have some reservation. You can opt for other courses like core branches or non-technical branches or Information technology(may not be for General category). You can try for FGIET or KNIT or BIET which are also top engineering colleges. you can get a CSE branch there for sure.

I'll be dividing this answer into 4 parts depending upon the year.

1st Year

1. Hostel Fees : 25000/Semseter for a 4 Sharing Room, 28000/Semseter twin Sharing with AC.
2. Tuition Fees : 75000/Semseter
3. Admission Fees: 11000 (One Time)
4. Alumni Fees: 1000 (One Time)
5. Examination Fees: 2000/Semseter
6. Medical Fees: 400/Semseter

Mess fees are around 2800/Month. College operates for 10 months, so 28000 INR.

Total fees for First Year comes around to be : 330,000 INR.

2nd Year

Everything remains the same and with the changed hostel, the fees for Hostel rises from 25000 to 40000 / Semseter.

Tuition Fees Increases.

Mess fees would rise from 2800–3000 INR.

A total of 360,000 INR would be needed for 2nd year.

3rd Year & 4th Year has almost the same fee structure as of 2nd Year.

Total cost of studying at Thapar including the mess fees is around 15–16 Lacs.

Atop this, your expenditures are in your own hand.
