IEM has much better placement record. The highest package at IEM till date is Rs.15.5 LPA and average package is Rs.3-6 LPA. The average package at JGEC is Rs.2-4 LPA.

Yes ,obc candidate can apply in jgec,the obc certificate must be issued by backward classes welfare department in Kolkata,such certificate is issued by the sub divisional officer of a sub division 8n a district.i hope this information helps you.
