The campus sometimes deemed to be inferior to the Primary campus doesn't matter much. The faculties in this campus are equally good, impart excellent knowledge. This campus has great industry exposure and the placement streak has been good, however you need to work for it if you desire great packages. However, the preconceived notion of VIT being a really cool and chill place is actually a myth. The campus has strict rules which you're supposed to abide by and discipline, decorum is expected from students. Being said, this college doesn't constrict you and helps you develop.

The infrastructure of this institute is good. It is loaded with greenery and the academic block is well off. Even though it may not have a campus as big as the prestigious institutes, it has fit in most of the amenities within the campus. It has a lake and small hills (rather big bumps) which are used like picnic spots. They keep planting more trees every year (very environment conscious). Many sport facilities are also there; you have a gym, basketball court, badminton court, cricket ground, and a football ground. Regarding the academics the quality of the professors are not up to the mark. Some don't want to teach, some don't know how to teach, some can't simply teach because their knowledge in that field is poor. Regardless of the teaching, they make sure that the question paper has HOTS (High order thinking skills) questions. This burdens the students. They do overload the student with assignments which many a times is not related to the syllabus at all. They encourage practical thinking; all subjects here have a compulsory project component even if it is a non-technical subject. They expect you to come with a million dollar worth project idea within the first fortnight of the start of the semester. They promote thinking out of the box caging you. It would have been better if the professors could help you in your project rather than doing everything by yourself. They do take you out for industrial visits but it actually ends up at a bird sanctuary, museum or a drama. They should really start taking us out to real industries not animal industries! It is very strict regarding the attendance. Including medical calls you are expected to have attendance 75% and above. If not you are debarred from writing the test. This college does have a good vision and wants to achieve great heights but it does not put in any effort to achieve the same. They make rules which they think will do good and implement the same. They do host complaints sessions but it always turns out to be a justifying session (of their actions). Coming to the hostel part, they maintain cleanliness; room service is done everyday and you get basic day-to-day requirements from the shop below. However the mess food is not satisfying. Average salary was 4.5 lac p.a, however the highest was 21 lac (received only by 2 students). Mass recruitment takes place here. So you can be sure of getting a job but not regarding its package. Recruitment to top level companies like google and Facebook is close to null. The no. of clubs is less. However they attach credits to these, so you have to join 2 clubs every semester. It always turns out to be less productive; you don't end up learning something new. The fees they charge sure does not equate to the teaching they provide.I would recommend you to join this college only if this is your last stand.

Very happy to have chosen this college.I have learnt soo much here and there is still so much more. As a person I have developed here. So this college does more than just help you excel academic wise. I had exposure in various fields.lab facilities are excellent here moreover teachers here are well qualified and trained us.They also relate engineering with real time applications (most of them even take us on industrial visits to show us the current advancements in the field). Infrastructure here is great. Vit Chennai is among the top colleges in Chennai. Apart from studies, sport facilities are good here. Crowd here is amazing.Peer group is always encouraging and take you towards your goal. All in all money well spent.

The one good thing I learned in my college is to communicate with different people and to develop my communication skills and the worst thing is I forgot how to learn the subjects itself. But it's a great place to develop our skills... A place to learn... A chance to grow...

Campus having good classrooms and library , but only problem is elevator. nearby to our campus there are so many industries that students can industrial visit . college life is good and happening well . about 97% of students are getting placed every year in non technical companies ,and about 40% students are placing in technical companies. i expect a good warden and hostel inside timings need a small change, and mess is to be improved a bit. some professors need good communication skills(especially mechanical school professors). according to fee structure it is very high and a middle class family cant affordable , but they can get educational loans.

VIT is a university which provides students excellent studies and a chance to make our career at a height. It is a private institutions and provides or gives chance to every student by providing excellent infrastructure and well qualified faculties who are quite friendly with students.Additionally the placement opportunity is at high scope.Other than the academic regulations the college life is very good and chill.Everyone here are friendly to each and more over the seniors are very helpful. This is specifically a ragging free campus where there is happiness all around.

VIT, Chennai is quite unique in its infrastructure. There are an abundant number of tools to help you in your journey of your college life, and enhance your knowledge of technology. Apart from the infrastructure, it also boasts of having a quite diverse environment. Students from all parts of India come to VIT to do their engineering. These both things coupled is what makes this college great.

Excellent atmosphere. Nice exposure as you meet people from different parts of the country. Infrastructure also very good. Decent faculties. Located near the city so easy transport. Good placement reviews. A bit difficult for day scholars as travelling is irritating. Good reviews from hostel friends about the rooms and mess food. Well, maintained playgrounds. Excellent place to do your college studies.Worth all the money.

It is one of the leading colleges in India and it continues to make a mark. The timetable is very flexible -thanks to the (FFCS-Fully Flexible Credit System) where you can choose your own subjects, teachers, and of course timings. All the faculty are highly qualified and the curriculum is revised every year. This year they have introduced project component for every subject which makes it not so boring. Vit's infrastructure is at par with many national institutes and is excellent. The placement percentage of Vit is quite high as all my seniors were placed in top companies. College life here is fun as there is Vit's tech fest Gravitaas and Riveria. Industrial visit's, innovative schools and also digital assignments, digital exams are all an integral part of a VITian life.

College infrastructure is Good. It is well built but in terms of placement it is still behind. Many of the IT companies come here and recruit students. Students find it difficult to get placed in core. Some of the faculty are fabulous and they have much knowledge and skills. Hostel facilities are not up to the mark as it should be. The education system of VIT is poor. Here marks are preferred over learning.

Life at Vit has been a step towards success in my life. It has been a wonderful journey and there is a lot more to come in the upcoming years. A bit of strictness with a mixture of love provided by the teachers and friends of the college makes you feel at home. Life has been great yet and I hope that it will become better and better day by day.

The VIT university is a college with a whole new experience which I believe is what distinguishes it from other colleges in Chennai. It was started only a few years back with the infrastructure still being developed. It has an amazing set of faculties for every branch who make learning a lot more interesting. It will be one of the top Universities in Tamil Nadu in the fore coming years and students graduating from here have a bright future.

The Chronicles Of Chennai Campus

Posted on 21 Oct' 15 by GAUTAM MOHAN
Batch of 2015 | B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering
In my view VIT (Chennai) is an average college. The College fests are fun and the placement is really good. Teaching faculty is average and there is always some bias based on the language you speak. Communication gap is a very general problem which students encounter. Infrastructure too ain't that good. Hostels are well maintained but the wardens may get onto your nerves quite often. Faculty always welcomes and supports innovative ideas. For students looking for a fun college life this campus is a letdown. The course structure is good. VIT prides on having 100% placement every year but, having said that, every individual may not get what he /she truly deserves. Mass placements by companies of the likes of Cognizant & Accenture keeps those stats intact. The campus is still in its infant stage and hence it will take time for it to come at par with the much famed Vellore campus. But one thing is for sure, everyone gets a good exposure. Too early to predict how this campus might turn out in near future.

overall satisfactory. High focus on academics. Lesser focus on co curricular activities. There is no thing such as student council or student representatives. Hostels are strict and there are not many good facilities around the campus , because its far from city. If you need plan for a day out , provided you want to bear the wet humid weather of Chennai, you have to travel at least 45 minutes early.

College life wasn’t good as they have so many strict unnecessary rules. Faculty was fine some are good you need to be careful while choosing your faculty. 75% attendance is must. Industrial Visits are good but three exams and project for each subject is hectic.. It is two hours away from city and in time is 6pm so that’s an issue

A Place to learn, a chance to grow!

Posted on 12 Oct' 15 by ABHIJIT PATNAIK

An institute with strong academic foundation with focus on project based learning to enhance holistic learning experience. Impetus given to excel in co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities. The institute believes in departing quality education which can be justified by its highly qualified faculty base of national as well as international repute. For me Hostel experience was the most memorable experience, really comfortable rooms providing ample opportunity for socializing. Mess food is an issue but considering numerous food stalls nearby the campus, fooding will not be a problem.

A revie on VIT chennai campus

Posted on 27 Jun' 15 by Surya
Well, many say vit Chennai campus is a newly established one and may not be good. But actual fact is that they compare this university with well established ones. It is acceptable to do so but they should also accept the fact that it gained a lot of popularity in very less time. Placements are very good that no other new institute may have this record. Faculty delivers their best. Labs are very well equipped. Library, infrastructure are exceptional. And when it comes to hostel, you will say it is indeed better hostel when compared to other hostels. So all in all if you have a chance to get into Chennai vit don't let it go... Good luck
