Hello,

The admission in DTU is based on the CRL rank secured in JEE Main. JAC will conduct the counselling for admission in NSUT, DTU, IIIT, Delhi and  IGDTUW. Last year a candidate with rank (CRL) 21668 belonging to EWS category (Delhi Region) secured seat in Delhi Technological University in Computer Engineering in round 4 of JAC counselling. Considering the cut off you do not have chances to get seat in DTU in Computer Engineering. However, you have chances to get seat in the following courses in DTU

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Production & Industrial Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Bio-Technology

Cut off is subjected to change, it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well!

See if you get an offer from NSIT, then you can just reject or ignore that offer and can just sit in the next round of counselling. You dont need to go for document verification if you are not interested to take a seat offered by the NSIT.

You can also predict your chances of admission in colleges through JOSAA counselling using our JEE College Predictor Tool. Kindly visit the link given below to predict colleges:

Hope this will help.

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing well. According to past year cut offs, the cut off for Bachelors Of Business Administration at Delhi technological University for OBC home category is 84.5% in class 12 and around 2393 cut off rank. You have little chance of getting in.

All the best!

Hey,

With this rank chances of getting CSE in DTU are less but you can definitely get other branches like Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication, Production and Industrial engineering, Environment engineering, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering and Biotechnology.

Other colleges you can consider are:

NIT Surathkal (Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering)

MNIT Allahabad (Civil engineering , Mechanical engineering, Chemical engineering, Production and Industrial engineering, Biotechnology)

MANIT Bhopal (Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication, Material Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical engineering

NIT Goa (Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering)

Other colleges to refer to are NIT Manipur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Mizoram, NIT Raipur.

You can also consider HBTU. You have chances of getting CSE here.

Thank you!

Greetings!

Let's evaluate it step by step, can someone with ECE background learn to code and get placement in good company?

Well the answer to that is yes definitely one can, in fact many do.

So if you have interest in coding you must learn that, as it is a really good skill to have.

Now should you learn coding to get a tech company or focus on your branch?

Well you can do both, DTU is a respectable college and companies do hire people of ECE background for ECE job, and at the same time ECE people do get selected to various tech companies.

See what you need to understand is that you will have a lot of time in college unlike JEE days, here you can easily focus on your branch and learn coding, in fact your branch it self will have a good portion of coding courses. So don't worry about that.

Thank you

Greetings!

Firstly the system of category rank and CRL is a bit too complex, and is out of scope of this answer, although what you need to know is, that with category rank you can get better colleges and therefore that is considered in counselling.

Now coming to NSUT or DTU or IGDTUW, I don't think so that you have any significant shot at any of them at this rank, specially if you don't have "Home state" quota, if you have that, then maybe there is a slight possibility of getting something like "manufacturing" or/and "production" engineering.

Although you might have chance in other colleges, and for that you can use the following rank predictor too

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?utm_source=qna&utm_medium=jee_cp

Hello,

Yes , you have chances to get cse branch here and if the dynamics changes still you will get electronics and communication branch. These predictions are on the basis that your home state is Delhi. If your home state is not delhi then you would not get any branch here. Maybe Biotechnology you can get.

You can try for NIts like Jamshedpur, durgapur, Silchar, allahabad, rourkela, Calicut,Goa, Patna, Hamirpur.

If you want to check out the colleges other than DTU you can get, you can check out the link given below -

Firstly congratulations, you have got a pretty decent rank. Now coming to the point, in your situation I would say you should either go with BIT Mesra CSE or DTU ECE, see IIIT Gwalior is at par with BIT Mesra I would say, but as you are comparing 5 year IT vs regular CSE at BIT Mesra, I would suggest going for BIT

Now for BIT vs DTU it completely depends on your personal choice, weather you want a better branch or better college, DTU is certainly better than BIT and objectively speaking CSE is in general considered better than ECE. So it all boils down what you want to sacrifice... Although I would say you won't regret in both the cases as both are indeed very good colleges.

For exploring other options at your rank you can use the following college predictor

Hello Aspirant,

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2021 of JAC 4th round then it shows that the closing CRL rank for Mechanical branch in DTU in 2021 was around 177k so with the mentioned CRL rank you have GOOD chances to get Mechanical branch in DTU most probably by 3rd round.
