Hi aspirant

thanks for asking your query ,if you havent got seat in rest of the rounds then you should go dtu for the spot round because in this round the left over seats would be given according to the cml rank or category rank .Be punctual and reach dtu at time because late comers problems wont be entertained.

Dear Aspirant

According to previous years cut off analysis which is subjective as cut off ranks change every year depending upon a lot of factors such as no of aspirants etc. nothing can be predicted with 100% surety, last year cut off rank for DTU in PCT branch for delhi region candidates was 446859 and was 1018071 for PIE branch last years, this year if i am not wrong its around 1lac 83 thousand uptill current rounds, for outside delhi region candidates was around 33k.

FOR ON SPOT ROUND: it is very subjective ajay as it is on spot completely depend on the fact that how many seats are left vacant and how many students are before your merit number opting for DTU, well if you're from delhi region you might have a chance at PIE if cut off's for last round fall on previous years pattern but for outside delhi region you will have less-meagre chances.

Hope this helps

Hi Aashima,

Your overall aggregate in B.Tech might cause some minor problems for you as some of the IITs eligibility criteria clearly states that a minimum of 55-60% is required. Some IITs like IIT Guwahati and Kharagpur have stated minimum percentage required to be 55%. You must not lose hope. Aim for a high score in GATE.

All the best

Hello dear aspirant

DTU is one of the top engineering institutions of the country and the cutoff for DTU is usually high. Since you are an outside Delhi student,  your chances of making it to DTU at this rank is close to negligible. Because one needs a minimum rank of about 30k to get into DTU.

Hope I am clear.

Hi,

I'm assuming he is from the general category. To be honest it would be difficult for him to get a core branch. Most probably he would end up getting the following branches:

  • DTU Polymer Science and Chemical Technology
  • DTU Bio-Technology
  • DTU Environmental Engineering

I would still suggest you to apply for spot round as cutoffs tend to fall drastically in spot round. It can't be predicted. Keep checking the official website for other information.
