In my opinion Calcutta University are better than these colleges for CSE, ECE, IT, instrumentation department. If a student fails to get admission in Jadavpur University then Calcutta University is the only option for them in terms of a good government college.

To get admission in Institute of Engineering and Management ,Kolkata ,the cutoff for different branches are different:-
For Computer Science Engineering ,you will need around 2500 rank.
For ECE you need around 5500 rank .
For Electrical you need around 11000 rank .
For EEE you need around 10000 rank
For IT you need around 5000-6000 rank
For Mechanical you need around 12000 rank

Hi Susmita ! No you can't get an admission in iem salt lake with this sc rank. It requires high rank. Moreover if you are from outside of West Bengal then it is much more difficult. Still you can have the hope of mock counseling and vacancy. So all the best of luck to you.

I am sorry to tell you that with a General Merit Rank of 550000 and 4100 SC rank you can't get admission in Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata as the closing rank for last year was below 30000 GMR last year . I would recommend you to wait for WBJEE results as it the only other option to get admission there .

yes you can get iem in salt lake with this marks. but i will advice you to first go for the governmet colleges . there is a fair chance of getting into government colleges like jgec in mop up rounds or decentralised rounds. so you must go for the streams like me,it,ece .

The closing rank for WBJEE for IEM CSE was 2924 and for mains it was 23883 .The closing rank for WBJEE for all the department was 12739 and for mains it was 46765 .
The closing rank for WBJEE for Heritage was 4130 and the closing rank for all departments was 17990 .
The closing rank for WBJEE for Techno India CSE department was 6461 and the closing rank for all department was 42070 .

Dear, thanks for asking this question. As per your catagory you have to required more then 80% marks in wbjee examination to get admitteted in good collages like IEM or HERITAGE. It's totally depend on what will bw cut-of that year, but this is the probabel marks to geting good collages.

I've had my life's best moments at college alongside stu
College Infrastructure
Our college is one of the best in Kolkata.It has three buildings two in college more and and one in SDF more beside cognizant.Our classes for BBA were held in Ashram Building.This building has two auditorium and all classes are well maintained with proper seating arrangements and air conditioners with projectors.We had a canteen that has various foods like veg thali, Chicken Thali,with burgers and sandwich and tea and coffe were there.In our library there are various types of books for BCA and BBA students as our building is for BBA and BCA department, it also has desktop computers on library with full internet access,we students are allowed to use to those computer for streaming at anytime we want.
It is one of the best college for management.

Quality of classes are good and college has a basketball court, canteen, two seminar halls, two auditoriums, all the classes have smart boards and AC. It has a drinks vendor where we get all kinds of beverages like seven up, sprite, mirinda, milk shakes and juices etc and it has two lifts.

In this college there is AC in all the classroom,Smart Boards in all the classroom two lifts and three auditorium, Games room for playing indore games and games.There is a Library which have a lots of book to read with management and Computer science books as it have BCA and BBA in our Ashram building and the most exciting thing is that they are having fourteen desktop computers where there is unlimited internet access where the students can sit anytime and browse google for information about management studies and management subject knowledges etc.The teacher's of the library department say to come in the free period or in the break time so it's of great fun at the library
