Hi Ravindra,

If you want to pursue a life beyond the strict and tough life of engineering you can definitely try for Jadavpur University. Other than being the best college for engineering in West bengal, it also nurtures the creative side of its students. Other than that, you can try Heritage, Future, and Techno India.

I would strongly advise you to stay away from IEM  as they are very strict and hardly allows their students to venture outside of engineering. That comes from a former student of IEM. :)

Hello, Congratulations for scoring such good marks.
According to last year's analysis, after round 3 the closing rank for mechanical was- 7514 (approx.) , for electrical it was- 7822, for electrical and electronics it was- 6687, for information technology the closing rank was- 4756, and for computer science it was- 2557.
So you have fair chances to get seat in core branches in IEM.
GOOD LUCK....

Hello,

As per your rank in wbjee, sorry to say but you will not get cse or ece in IEM.

all the best.

For more information please check

Congratulations for your good marks in Wbjee.
Of course!  You are eligible for computer science in Techno main campus or rajarhat campus.
But you have less chances to get cs in Institute of Engineering and Management  (iem). You may get mechanical branch  in IEM.
In this case, I will suggest you to us eour college PREDICTOR app, where you can get best college options as per your rank.
Hope it helps.
Good luck...

hello aspirant,

see at this rank jadavpur university is not possible. as it is the eminent university in west bengal. however every year cutoff changes. for iem kolkata it may be difficult also. however you have chances for heritage institute of technology in chemical engr, biotechnology, electronics and instrumentation, civil engineering stream.

Hi Subham,

Both of the colleges are excellent for CSE aspirants among Kolkata engineering colleges.

I would suggest you to choose IEM among the two if you are interested in engineering only fo4r your education and placements. In that regard, IEM is ahead of Heritage. IEM is very strict and treats their students almost like school children with their strict timing. if you are even late by a minute you can bid the whole day goodbye.

However, if you want a complete college experience including the fests, heritage will suit you better. They offer good placements too and arrange superb fests to give you a co-curricular opportunity as well.

Both are excellent choices.

Hello Subham,

Since NIRF rankings are present for both the universities -

IEM Kolkata - NIRF - 101st - https://www.careers360.com/colleges/institute-of-engineering-and-management-kolkata#ranking

University of Calcutta - NIRF - 12th - https://www.careers360.com/university/university-of-calcutta-kolkata#ranking

It shows that University of Calcutta is better and I would recommend in getting admission in same.

Hope this information helps .

Hello shubam,

The fee structure of IEM kolkata is around 1,30,000 per year. For all the 4 years it is around 5 lakhs excluding hostel fees. You can apply for loan. You can able to get scholarships also. The amount is of approximation and it will be changed depending on your department.

Thank you!

With a WBJEE rank of 50000 Heritage institute of technology Kolkata seems tough as per 2018 statistics.

Coming to Techno India college of Technology only Computer science engineering, electronic and communication engineering and mechanical engineering won't be possible. Apart from these three branches you can get everything. So if u do not have any specific branch in mind , do apply here. Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata will again be difficult for you.

Hello atin Choudhary

In my opinion Calcutta University are better than these colleges for CSE, ECE, IT, instrumentation department. If a student fails to get admission in Jadavpur University then Calcutta University is the only option for them in terms of a good government college.

All the best

Academics: 4/5
Placements: 4.2/5
Value for Money: 2.7/5
Campus Life: 3.3/5

only come here if u dont get in somewhere else

College Infrastructure

it does have moderately good facilities when compared to other colleges in kolkata (other than JU and IIEST shibpur as they are in a league of their own) but when compared to other top colleges (iem claims to be a top college), it falls short and it falls short by A LOT

My college is best in all Courses.

College Infrastructure

One of the best infrastructure maintained with the equipment needed. Faculties are the best in business best in there field all are the rich in experience in there perticular field. Absolute clean and greeney.

its a good college to study and placements.

College Infrastructure

It has modern classrooms, good labs, and a central library but limited space and several wifi and network issues. Infrastructure is decent but not so good. But they have ac which is good for this summer.
