Yes you can easily get any core branch at IET Lucknow but you might have to wait till the 4th round of counselling , for core branch the cutoff lies less than 1700 till the 4th round according to last year stats.

I am sorry to tell you but even with your OBCGL rank of 585, you will not be able to get IET Lucknow or any other Government colleges. You can try for private colleges like AKG, ABESEC, KIET, to take admission. I hope this information was helpful to

if You have good hand in programming , pick up CSE and if you are not a computer student , go on with electrical .

According to the UPSEE 2018 SC category cutoff, you can definitely get KNIT, Sultanpur, BIET, Jhansi or IET, Lucknow.

You can certainly get the CSE branch in KNIT and BIET but you will not be able to get CSE, Electrical and Mechanical branch in IET, Lucknow.

IET Lucknow is a very good college and have a very good reputation and the cutoff for admission in this college is very high also for general category it goes as high as it can so if we go through the previous years cutoff and your present rank
