For JELET there is no domicile requirement. So if you wish to take admission through JELET, then you are eligible for it. Now if you have completed your Diploma in Engineering in any field, then only you can take admission to the 2nd year of the BTech at JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY.
Now if you want to study at Jadavpur University being a non-diploma student, then you have to qualify the WBJEE examination and you have to take admission in the 1st year of the BTech/BE in the Jadavpur University.

For going for Electronics, CSE, Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation etc., then the of need a very decent score, your rank should be under 600–700. But, if you want to get in IT, Power, Printing, Construction -etc then scoring under 1200–1500 will be enough. Hope it helps. Thank you. Hello Aspirant,
Both colleges are very good and famous for their Geology but Hansraj college is the better one and will provide you better placement opportunity. Hansraj college is one of the best colleges in India with 14 NIRF ranking and Geology course is very famous here with very good faculty , facilities and well equipped laboratory for geology and many big companies come here during placement drive like ONGC , Oil India .Placement after BSc is very hard but with MSc the average placement at Hansraj college is around 5 lakhs per annum.
The opportunities are good at Jadavpur college also but Hansraj is a better college for this course .

See if you want to be a Geologist and want to work in companies then its your infatuation that you think you will be employed just after your BSc. Most companies want profiles from the MSc candidates. So if you wish to go for a course in Geology then I would recommend you that JU is quite a good university to study at. The curriculum is quite industry oriented and you will get the scope to study MSc as well from the institute. The placement perspective is also good for the Geology although the salary range is around Rs. 5.6LPA to 9LPA after the MSc.

Jadavpur admits to multiple faculties:-
Engineering Faculty
This faculty offers Bachelors in Engineering and Architecture. You will need a WBJEE rank (within 1500 for most departments) for admissions which happens via counselling (
Page on wbjeeb.nic.in (http://wbjeeb.nic.in/counsinfo/CounsellingProcess.aspx)
). For B. Arch you will need marks in a national level architecture (drawing) exam for admission qualification (WBJEE rank generally required is lower here).
Science Faculty
The science faculty offers Bachelors in many science subjects and admissions is based on the marks you obtained in you class 12 board examinations (officially termed as merit). Form collection and cut-off selection happens mostly after the publication of the most popular board exams in Calcutta (namely, ICSE, CBSE and WB board).
Arts Faculty
Admission to this faculty is a combinations of merit (+2 marks for screening purposes) followed by and entrance examinations for most subjects in this faculty.
Lastly, there are entries to all departments via sports quota as well. Cut-offs in WBJEE rank or exams or +2 marks are a little lower in this case.
Hey
The previous year cut off for admission in Jadavpur University through WBJEE under the Home state quota for the mechanical engineering branch was a rank of 26009 for the general category. The cut off changes each year according to various factors. But you can still expect a similar range of cut off. You'd require a rank under this range for a fair chance of admission in this college. You can use the link below for more details regarding previous year trends.
Good Luck
College infrastructure really needs to upgrade. Even though there's wifi, adequate classrooms and all of that, the cleanliness amd the buildings need to do better. There's also a shortage of desks and chairs.
A very liberal space where everyone is free to express themselves without the fear of getting judged. The libraries have adequate books for students of all the classes. The classrooms have enough space to accommodate at least 70 people.
The infrastructure at Jadavpur University is decent overall, with the essential facilities in place for students. Classrooms, laboratories, and libraries are fairly maintained. The canteens offer hygienic and affordable food, making it convenient for students to manage daily meals. However, the condition of bathrooms is rather poor. The Engineering Drawing rooms don't look like they ever get cleaned. Repairs of electrical appliances like fans and lights often take a long time. Concern affecting infrastructure development is the lack of sufficient funding, which has slowed down repairs and modernization efforts. With better financial support, the campus facilities could be significantly improved.
