Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), Pune has a well-developed and modern campus with good academic and recreational facilities. The institute features spacious and technology-enabled classrooms, smart boards, and well-equipped labs (including iMac and GPU workstations) that support practical learning and engineering projects. The library is sizeable with both physical books and digital resources, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus and hostels. Hostels provide essential amenities like laundry, common areas, and high-speed internet, although some students feel rooms can be a bit small. Sports enthusiasts benefit from facilities for football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, gym, and other outdoor activities.

      Academics

SIT Pune’s academics are generally industry-relevant and structured to prepare students for engineering careers. The curriculum follows the National Education Policy (NEP) framework and includes both core fundamentals and elective options, helping students gain strong theoretical grounding as well as practical exposure — particularly in areas like AI, ML, data science, and engineering fundamentals. Faculty members are mostly well-qualified and approachable, with PhD credentials and a focus on applied learning, project-based assignments, and interactive sessions that keep students engaged. Many reviewers praise the updated syllabus and hands-on labs, noting that courses stay aligned with current industry requirements and trends. However, some students mention strict attendance requirements, varying teaching styles across departments, and occasional reliance on PPT-based lectures as areas for improvement.

      Placements

Placements at SIT Pune are strong overall, especially in core tech branches like Computer Science and AI/ML, though results vary by year and department. The institute’s placement cell actively invites a wide range of companies from IT, core engineering, finance, consulting, and analytics sectors, helping students secure jobs and internships through pre-placement talks, skill workshops, and career guidance. In recent placement cycles, some batches saw very high packages—including up to around ₹50 LPA in previous years—with a solid average package often reported between around ₹8.9 LPA and ₹12.9 LPA for engineering graduates. Recruiters like Microsoft, Nvidia, Deloitte, BMC, Bajaj Group, and others have visited campus drives. Placement percentages have historically been high (90%+ in earlier years), though the 2025 drive saw lower numbers so far (~71–80% placed at the time of reporting) as the process was still ongoing.

      Value for Money

Symbiosis Institute of Technology Pune is generally considered a moderately good investment for engineering education, but whether it’s truly “value-for-money” depends on your expectations and financial situation. The fees for B.Tech programs tend to be on the higher side compared to many other private engineering colleges in India, especially when you add hostel, mess, and other expenses over four years. Students and alumni frequently point out that fees plus hostel/mess can reach a significant total cost over the course duration

      Campus Life

Life at SIT Pune offers a vibrant and engaging student experience that goes beyond academics. The campus encourages a balanced mix of study, extracurriculars, sports, and social interaction, with frequent cultural, technical, and sports events throughout the year that keep students active and involved. Hostel life contributes significantly to the social atmosphere: there are multiple boys’ and girls’ hostel blocks with Wi-Fi, common areas, and a sense of community, although some students feel rooms can be small and they sometimes choose PG accommodations nearby.

      Others

One thing worth mentioning about SIT Pune is the overall balance it offers between academics, exposure, and personal growth. The college provides a relatively safe and disciplined environment while still giving students freedom to explore interests through clubs, competitions, internships, and inter-college events. Being part of the Symbiosis ecosystem adds value in terms of brand recognition, diversity of students from different states, and networking opportunities.

Decent infrastructure not that crazy or anything, water and food facilities are good but food is very inconsistent in taste. Labs and classroom are well equipped with facilities. Library is also decent also the college is clean and neat.

      Academics

Good academic curriculum with industry driven courses with good and friendly faculties along with good mentor support. More focus on skill development rather than theoretical knowledge . Coding culture is average.

      Placements

Average placements with avr 8-9 Lpa in top branches with around 85% placement rate also internship are given to almost all the students . The ROI is decent not the best nor the worse also the point to be noted is that with limited intake it's easy to get placed

Fees is around 5-6 lakh per year with hostel fees which is on the higher side only.

Life at SIT isn't just about labs.

      Verified Review
      College Infrastructure

The campus is designed to support both rigorous technical education and collaborative research. Smart Classrooms: All classrooms are multimedia-enabled with network connectivity to facilitate digital presentations and blended learning. Specialized Laboratories: SIT houses cutting-edge labs, including: Computing: High-end computer labs with i5/i7 systems, a dedicated iMac Lab, and GPU workstations for AI/ML projects. Departmental Labs: Specialized setups for 5G Technology, Robotics, and Civil Engineering. Workshops: Fully equipped Machine Shop, Welding Shop, and 3D Printing facilities for hands-on engineering experience. ce. Library: A central, Koha-enabled library with over 11,000 documents, digital resources, and access to international online databases. Campus Amenities The SIT campus is often described as a "self-contained township" due to the variety of facilities available to students.

      Academics

The consensus from students and industry reports in 2026 is that yes, the curriculum is highly proactive, but it requires students to be equally proactive. Dynamic Revisions: SIT follows a "Rolling Review" system where the curriculum is updated every few years with input from industry stakeholders. Modern Focus: For the 2025–2029 batches, there is a heavy shift toward AI & Machine Learning, Robotics, and Electric Vehicle (EV) technology across branches—even in Civil and Mechanical engineering. The "Six-Month Internship": One of the strongest parts of the curriculum is the mandatory Project Semester in the final year. You spend 6 months in an actual company, which bridges the gap between theoretical "outdated" textbooks and current industry tools. Holistic Addition: They’ve integrated "Liberal Arts" and "Design Thinking" into the engineering core. While some students find these a bit distracting, they are designed to make you a more well-rounded "Global Engineer." Quality of Teaching The teaching experience at SIT is generally rated 3.7 to 4.5 out of 5, depending on the department. Faculty Credentials: A significant majority of the professors are Ph.D. holders from reputed institutions (IITs, NITs, and international universities). They are particularly well-regarded in the Mechanical and E&TC departments. The Mentorship Model: SIT uses a "Buddy System" and a dedicated mentor for every 20 students. This makes the faculty very approachable; you aren’t just a roll number. The "CS/IT" Reality: Some students feel that in rapidly evolving fields like Computer Science, the teaching can sometimes struggle to keep pace with the absolute latest software trends, though the foundational logic teaching remains solid. Strictness: Be prepared—teaching quality comes with a side of high discipline. There is a strict 75% attendance rule that is non-negotiable if you want to sit for exams.

      Placements

While final consolidated reports for the 2026 graduating batch are still being finalized, the trends from the 2025 season provide a very clear picture of what you can expect: Highest Package: Historically, this has reached ₹50 LPA (offered by Microsoft). In the most recent 2025 cycle, the highest domestic package stood at approximately ₹26.25 LPA. Average Package: The overall average package is currently around ₹8.91 LPA to ₹9.3 LPA, which is quite competitive for private engineering colleges in Pune. Placement Rate: SIT typically achieves an 88% to 91% placement rate. The remaining students often opt for higher studies (Masters) abroad through Symbiosis’s international partnerships.

      Value for Money

My course costs about 3L a year , if u are competent enough and stay away from bad habits and people you can get your money worth , else nope

      Campus Life

The Best Features: Why Students Love It The "Hill Top" Vibe: The campus is stunning. Situated on a lush green hill in Lavale, it feels like a resort. The air is cleaner, and the views during monsoon are unmatched in Pune. Sports Infrastructure: This is arguably SIT's strongest suit. You have access to a floodlit cricket ground, a FIFA-standard football turf, a swimming pool, and high-end gyms. If you are into sports, you won't find a better setup. Safety and Health: The campus is incredibly safe with 24/7 security. Having the Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) and a hospital right on campus is a huge relief for students living away from home. Global Immersion: The Global Immersion Programme (GIP) is a standout. It’s relatively easy (compared to other colleges) to spend a semester studying in countries like Germany, France, or the UK. The Worst Features: The Reality Check Isolation (The "Lavale Bubble"): The campus is quite far from Pune city center. While there are college shuttles, a trip to the main city for movies or shopping can take over an hour one way. You might feel "stuck" on the hill sometimes. Strict Rules: The "Symbi" lifestyle is not as "free" as people think. There is a 10:30 PM hostel curfew, and security is very strict about visitors. The 75% attendance rule is also enforced quite rigidly. Financial Burden: Between the high tuition fees and annual hikes, it is an expensive education. Additionally, hostel fees are on the higher side, and some students find the "backlog fees" (for failing a subject) to be excessive. Mess Food: While hygienic, the taste is often described as "average" or "repetitive." Most students end up spending extra money at the on-campus food court.
