JoSAA 2026 counselling for round 2 will be done on June 30, 2026.
IIIT Pune admissions are offered to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. IIIT Pune admissions are based on entrance test, conducted by a national authority or by the institute itself.
For IIIT Pune M.Tech admissions, the shortlisting of candidates will be through GATE score and written examination and/or interview conducted by the respective departments. The PhD selection process of IIIT Pune is based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview conducted by the respective departments.

There are 2 specialisations of B.Tech provided by IIIT Pune namely, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for admission.
The candidate should appear for the JEE Main examination and secure a valid score. Eligible candidates can apply for the B.Tech course by visiting the official website.
The candidate should meet the cutoff prescribed by the institute for admission to the B.Tech course.
The shortlisted candidate should attend the JoSAA/CSAB based on the scores obtained in the entrance examination, the candidates will be shortlisted for IIIT Pune admissions.
The final selected candidates will be informed about seat allotment through a registered phone number or email ID.
Candidates should get the documents verified and pay the admission fee to confirm the admission.
The 2 M.Tech programmes offered by IIIT Pune are provided with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) by the CSE department and the Internet of Things (IoT) by the ECE department. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria given below.
The Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune M.Tech admission process for GATE 2026 candidates and non GATE candidates is given below.
Candidates are required to download the application form from the official website.
Eligible candidates are required to fill out the Google form provided by the institute along with combining all the documents into a single PDF and uploading it in the form.
Candidates have to pay a sum of Rs 590 (Rs 295 for SC/ST/PwD) as the application fee.
Selection of candidates will be done based on written tests and/or Interviews and qualifying the prescribed cutoff. (Note: Both GATE and non-GATE candidates can apply.)
Candidates qualified in written exams and interviews will be informed through email and have to bring documents at the time of admission to the institute.
Candidates must take GATE and secure a valid score before registering in the CCMT portal.
After appearing for the GATE exam, candidates have to register online on the official website of CCMT. Candidates are required to enter personal details, GATE score, and other details.
Upon successful registration and payment of the registration fee, the candidates will be able to fill and lock their choices of programmes in the order of their preference from the list of eligible programmes.
Afterwards, Candidates will undergo 3 rounds of counselling: Seat allotment, Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and online document verification.
Merit for seat allotment will be prepared based on the GATE score of the year filled by the candidate. Candidates are required to clear the cutoff prescribed by the institute.
Once the seats are allotted to the candidates for the respective institute, candidates can verify their documents and confirm their admission.

Candidates who have qualified CSIR UGC NET or have obtained the INSPIRE PhD fellowship can also apply for the IIIT Pune PhD programme. The eligibility criteria are given below.

The PhD admission will be based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview by the respective departments. (For non-GATE candidates, a written test is conducted).
After the document verification and admission fee payment, the candidate is granted admission.
