There are 4 specialisations of B.Tech provided by IIIT Ranchi namely, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, CSE with specialisation in Data Science and ECE with specialisation in Embedded Systems and Internet of Things Hons. IIIT Ranchi B.Tech Admission Process

• Students are requested to meet the IIIT Ranchi B.Tech eligibility criteria. 

• Candidates must appear and qualify for JEE Main.

• Aspirants are shortlisted based on IIIT Ranchi JEE Main cutoff and a merit list is prepared for the candidates who clear the cutoff.

• Shortlisted students are advised to appear for the JoSAA/CSAB counselling process.

• Based on the student's performance in the counselling and the choice of preference given by the students, students will be selected for the final admissions.

• Once the students are allotted seats, they are advised to pay the IIIT Ranchi admission fees and submit the documents for verification to get the IIIT Ranchi admission confirmed.

Candidates can get admission to IIIT Ranchi M.Tech course via 3 different modes namely GATE, non-GATE and sponsored. Each mode has a common process that involves written tests and/or interviews conducted by the respective departments. • Candidates are required to fill out the application form available on the official website of IIIT Ranchi. A sum of Rs 1000 (Rs 500 for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates) is to be paid as an application fee.

• The application form along with self-attested documents are required to be sent by speed/registered post to the institute. Also, the same is to be sent in a single PDF via email.

• Shortlisted candidates will further participate in the selection process based on their preferred mode. 

• For GATE candidates: IIIT Ranchi M.Tech selection process involves qualifying for GATE. Based on GATE, the Candidate is required to clear the cutoff prescribed by the institute and shortlisted candidates are called for a written test and an interview.

• For non-GATE candidates and sponsored candidates: Admission to the IIIT Ranchi M.Tech course will only be made based on performance in written tests and/or interviews.

• Candidate has to report at the institute or virtually for the tests. Selected candidates can apply for counselling online/in person at IIIT Ranchi. Once the document verification is done, the candidate is granted admission.

• Selected students must pay IIIT Ranchi admission fees.

There are two formats of IIIT PhD courses namely full-time and part-time (for sponsored candidates). The full-time PhD course is for GATE, non-GATE and sponsored candidates. The minimum duration of the IIIT Ranchi PhD programme (excluding dropped semester(s)/maternity leave) is 3 years (36 months) from the date of joining. • Candidates are required to fill out the application form through the official website. (GATE candidates are also required to do the same).

• Candidates are required to pay Rs 1,000 as an application fee for the application form.

• The PhD admission will be based on the GATE score and/or written test and/or interview by the respective departments. (For non-GATE candidates, a written test is conducted).

• After the document verification and IIIT Kottayam admission fees payment, the candidate is granted admissions.
